Aside from that statement, is there a statement to how much money has been lost on Cryptopia? I have a little bit of funds on Cryptopia that I did not take out since long time ago. Should've taken them out when I could. Damn

Lucky i don't have any coins there except my bitsend week coins, which i withdraw weekly so rip 50 cents if my coin was also stolen, there's no security that is secure enough to not get hacked. lmao, the hacker will get caught for sure, if this is the hacker.

Cryptopia is packing up? I find it hard to believe believe because they are going to earn more than just these ETH if they will continue to keep operating. They can make improvements of this exchange. Or it could also mean a whale is up for holding those withdrawn ETH or perhaps moving it to an exchange where there is more volume.

This has happened several times already in the past, I'm glad I don't have coins on this exchange anymore, with so many exchange coming out fresh from ICO security should be the concern, the one that can give out the best security is the one that will stood up.

https://steemit.com/steempress/@nederob/hackersobtainatleast36millionfromcryptopia-svhwgdlwchTransactions found on Etherscan suggest that Cryptopia lost at least 19.309 ethereum, which would equal a current value of 2.5 million dollars. The amount was moved from a Cryptopia wallet around the alleged time of the hack. Another major coin transfer from around that time involved 48 thousand CENNZ, which is $1.1 million. Which would suggest that Cryptopia lost at least 3.6 million dollars, but the actual amount is likely to be a lot more.

Cryptopia put on hold and at the same time, there will be an investigation from their local law. Based on our history, it is very unlikely to go live soon. and they said 'significant losses', which means almost all of their assets were gone. the probability for this exchange to open again is almost zero. do not put too much your hope into it,

I saw the news on social media I didn't believe it was real, but an announcement was made from the exchange account. The Ethereum accounts seem to have been emptied.

My goodness. What is the point of requiring users of adding security to their accounts like 2FA when the exchange itself is hacked? I am glad I pulled out most of my coins there due to wallet being on maintenance most of the time.

I have some minor amounts of ETN coins with cryptopia, so I won't have any regret if they go down for good. Any details as to how the hack was performed? Aren't there some security flags and/or security mechanisms when you initiate 19,000 ETH withdrawal from a hot wallet on cryptopia? Anyhow that is why we desperately need some good decentralized exchanges to replace these traditional exchanges.

security flags like duh! big question. They limit withdraw amounts on many shitcoins, but for ETH and TET pull Millions and not placed in pending for review. SRSLY? How is it even possible to 'allow' draw downs that exceed even the biggest account? The scrypts would automatically ping a big red flag on such.

If there is an ETH exploit, which is what this indicates, and note novaexchange delisted all ETH products siting security issues, get your popcorn ready.
