Mistake you should avoid when holding your Altcoins

This is one of the reasons some coins just keep dumping, because they do not believe in holding.
Well, I think the mistake most people make is that, earlier they were holding just any coin that comes their ways. So since most of them have plunged, they were discouraged from holding and that lead them into continual dump of what they have.
This will not help, because there are certain coins that will give you unexpected huge profit, if you are able to hold. You just need to study most of them.

I kinda relate with what you started this thread with. I got few coins via bounty and some I just got in hope that someday it will rise and shine. The thing was when it was bullish I sold some but then kept few in hope that it will cross the benchmark but then only to find that I had to wait longer than expected. I think we should all just sell when things are high and then if we want to make more profit then we should just buy it again when its low. Often many including myself miss the sell boat and then have to wait for a long long time.

There is a saying that one should not fall in love with a coin for we are here for money and not attachment.

You actually make a genuine point and this is why people are advice not to be greedy or let profit making blind them from doing the right thing. However, selling all one holding for quick profit is also not good because there are some certain things ones need to put in check before making decision or else you'll wish you shouldnt your altcoin.

I was a newbie and i had a coin which has a decent amount.
I tried to do a day trade to make more from it though it was not good as i dont have enough knowledge and patience.
I just lose some amount instead of having more and sold my tokens/coins at very low price.

You are correct that your friends will be more important for a person to get long term stability in this field otherwise he cannot make anything good for his life to achieve in this cryptocurrency market and also be a good investor is more tougher than anything if you can do this properly you will be success.

I have hold the coins for more than a year and when the price is drastically dropped, I became panic and led me to sell the coin sin the wrong time with very small price. That is why I didn't like being panic. Holding the altcoin swill make me do some mistakes if I'm not being patient, holding the wrong coins, and also always staring at the market progress.

This is a wise strategy to adopt especially when you are holding onto too many high risk assets because in a bear market there's not always going to be as big a chance of them appreciating even if good quality projects do achieve milestones and increase adoption the results might not pay off immediately so always be proactive in diversifying into lower risk assets if there's enough liquidity and you're not incurring too big a loss when restructuring your portfolio

I like your belief about do not wait for the bull run to come, well based on my opinion, waiting for these bull is just a waste of time, it lessen our productivity so, acting way more better is far more efficient.

First, do not store it in exchange for more than 3 months I guess, trust personal wallet and leave nothing to exchanges. Second, do not wait for opportunity but make the opportunity waits you.

I make the same mistake as you in the past because I saw the price is drop in too fast and makes me panic. I sell half part of my coins because I think it will get down for more, but I am wrong, in the next minutes, the pump came and lifted the price go back to the last higher price, and even it increases higher than before. Fortunately, I still have the other half amount, so I prepare to sell at the price I want, and although I need to wait for 10 minutes, the price can reach my price and my order sell was filled.

      You did it because that is your goal which is to gain huge profit by waiting the bull run which unfortunately not come , unlikely in my strategy which to have a price setting for selling so whether there is a bull run or none , if the price is already hit for my aimed , then its time to sell.

I think the correct advice is for people who want to get in crypto to assess at which point of the market cycle they are currently. Lots entered in early 2018 after a big bull run, that was the mistake. The correct time to enter is now actually, those who invest now will gain a lot in the future. when we hold a coin, of course we will always pay attention to what we have, and always feel dear to be sold. things to avoid when holding coins are of course greediness. it was the biggest mistake I made. I think some people have the same mistakes as I do, because it's a common mistake to avoid.

Yeah, I made an even bigger mistake. I got coins earlier and didn't sell.
So my advice is not to get in love with coins that you have and make a profit.

Do not attempt to sell them now! That would be a great loss. Sorry that you had to go through this hard time with the bear market. I think next time you should sell half and hodl half. That way you won't feel so bitter. But its not over yet. Crypto has a great future awaiting it and those assets you hold that are almost worthless now will end up being quite a fortune on your hands

I prefer to check my coins from airdrops and bountys one by one. I look if they reached their soft cap, project details and team experience and the amount of coins that i have. After all this research i decide to exchange it or keep it. My lesson from 2018 is not to keep so many alt coins that its nearly impossible to keep an eye on project on bear market.

I have some experienced with you. I'm ablt to collect altcoins from bounty also and hoping to grow further i kep holding fora while until bearish season hit the crypto market badly and i ha e no choice but to still keep holding because price of my alt coins really fall very low. Currently my portfolio is -89% very stressful everytime i look at it.
