A big blow for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 season, as Williamson, one of their star players, has been ruled out for the entire season due to an injury he sustained while fielding in the opener against CSK. It's definitely a serious issue for the team, especially a prominent players who have been ruled out early. It's just really unfortunate. Williamson who not only a dependable batsman for the team, but he had also found some rich form recently. Hoping for his quick recovery and make a comeback before the World Cup. Yesterday's match between LSG and DC was the most entertaining after CSK vs GT. I hope we can see more of such matches in IPL. Apart from Warner, no other batsman could stay at the crease for long. Even Warner's strike rate was only 116. But Mark Wood bowled brilliantly. He picked up 5 wickets for just 14 runs. However, more responsible batting was expected from DC's experienced batsmen.

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals match will be played in 30 minutes. Both have strong squads here. It is very difficult to predict which team will win. But we can expect to see a high score in this match.

It is impressive how the IPL keeps viewers interested with such exciting games. Although performance of KL Rahul has been a cause for concern I am confident in his capacity to recover and contribute significantly to his team. It was pleasure to watch bowler Mark Wood put up such a strong effort and pick up back to back wickets even though Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan had a bad game they are both good players with the ability to rebound. We can only hope that the DC squad will learn from its errors and play better defence in the upcoming match. Overall, the IPL has provided excellent entertainment and I am eager to see what the rest of the season has in store.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's inability to control the big target that has been their biggest setback. Their bowlers failed to execute their strategy properly. Fazalhaq Farooqi, T Natarajan and Umran Malik got wickets but those who were supposed to be the wicket hunter they failed to take wickets like Bhuvneshwar and Adil Rashid. But I think Sunrisers Hyderabad needed to do better in batting. Chasing the target of 203, they at least needed to score above 150 but failed to do that.

That depends on how you view the game. LSG won the match because DC took the match in a lite sense. Fielding was horrible, catch drop was another reason why Mayers was able to go after the DC bowlers on his debut.

It was unfortunate for Kane Williamson to get injured in the field as he was coming into the IPL after rehabilitating from an elbow injury and now in the first match he was injured. It might not impact the team as he was not in the team line up that won the title last year but it will impact New Zealand as he is their key player.

Now another injury in today's match, Reece Topley dislocated his shoulder and hopefully he can continue in the series but the details are not yet known.

Replacement of Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson played for Gujarat Titans in the first match.  But he could not play that match due to injury and another Indian batsman was fielded as his replacement.

But there are fears about Kane Williamson's injury in the IPL 2023 season, he may go to the seat from this IPL. However, Steven Smith is being considered as his replacement.  Because Steven Smith scored two centuries in the Big Bash and he is in great form in T20 cricket. As no team showed interest in buying him in the last IPL auction, he took his name in the IPL auction this season.
But now if Gujarat Titans consider Steven Smith as Kane Williamson's replacement then Gujarat Titans can spend INR 2 Crores for him. But which one will Steven Smith choose as IPL commentator for Stars Sports is contracted for INR 5 crore. Which one would Steven Smith accept if such an offer were made? Mumbai Indians batting performance is not very good. Because I wanted Mumbai Indians to score 200+ runs in this match but it was not possible. They are under a lot of pressure with the loss of 7 wickets and the run rate has gone down completely. What an opening partnership by Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli  they lost their first wicket on 148 runs , both of them scored half centuries.
