T20 World Cup Super 8 Round

So finally we know that the T20 World first round has been finished today and today was the last match which was played between Afghanistan and West Indies. Now tomorrow the Super 8 riund's first match will be played. These are the teams which qualified for the Super Eight Round.

Now I am looking that this round will be very exciting. I think these teams will qualify for the Semifinals. India, Australia, West Indies and South Africa. I can be wrong.  

The top 2 teams from each group have been divided into two groups, namely Super 8s Group1 and Super 8s Group2.
The distribution of the teams in these groups is as follows.

   

Both of these groups look strong and therefore we will get very close matches beginning from tomorrow. The first match will be played again by the Host nation United States of America and they will face South Africa while in the second match which will be played later tomorrow, 
West Indies will take on England, another nail bitter match. 

Super 8 teams are final now and everyone is excited to watch these encounters both groups consist of good and tough teams not even a single team is weak everyone performs in the group stage and progresses to the next round. Not a perfect ending for Kiwis fast bowler Trent Bolt as he announces his retirement from international cricket and as a key player you do not want this kind of exit where your team does not even qualify for the Super 8 and is eliminated from the group stage. Its very sure that NZ win this game easily and they do soo both teams are out of the world cup.

Trent boult is a main bowler of New Zealand team and he always played well in all formats and I like the Yorker of Trent boult. But think ,he will return back to his team because New Zealand team need him and they are weak team in the absence of Trent boult. We know New Zealand team is out of the tournament and that is disappointing but that is not a solution of that because New Zealand whole team played very bad and we can't give the credit to one player. They should win the match against Afghanistan but Scotland made a position in super 8 and we saw change in this World cup. New Zealand Cricket board should encourage him to rejoin the team because he is top most bowler of New Zealand and he is young player.

The first match of Group 2 of Super Eight USA vs South Africa will be played tomorrow. Although we are still uncertain which team will win this game, we can't say it correctly.  Although many of us will be betting on South Africa as per the match betting odds and expect them to win. But in the games that we have played, every batsman has played very disappointing batting in every game, if such batting performance is also in this match, then both the teams will try hard to win. But South Africa team is more likely to win, but I wouldn't say that they will win because USA team is also in good form. If the USA team can perform well in bowling, then they can hope to win against South Africa. Looking at the odds, things are quite different as shown in the above percentages. I don't think that South Africa chances of winning this match are 61%. The odds suggest that they have more than 90% chance of winning.

By the way, if anyone wants to take risk and bet on USA, they will get above 5 odds. The form they're in at the moment, you never know another upset may happen and also South Africa was lucky in some of their wins in the group stages.

Basically I think United States of America team qualified to the Super 8 round due to team Pakistan. If Pakistan won that match so USA couldn't qualify. The Super was not good when Muhammad Amir gave 18 runs in a single over. And this was a huge target which they need to cover in a single over.
Well this is not the topic. Topic is that who can win the today match so their are 50 50 chances which I am looking because South Africa squad is not strong in my point of view. And we can't underestimate the USA too. So there are the chances that USA can win the match. By the way this too much earlier to guess but I am looking that USA can give a surprise.

Pakistan not even making it to the super 8 is honestly not really surprising considering their bad performances in recent years. What actually surprised me was seeing a team like NZ getting knocked out like they were nothing.

I have equal respect for all the Super 8s teams for making it to the second stage of the T20 World Cup. Success will depend on the effort they put in to win. This World Cup might not be the most exciting, but there will still be some madness and unexpected outcomes due to the rain, and anything can happen. All the Super 8s teams have a lot of experience, so it's hard to favor any one team. I hope we don't see any one-sided games and that we see strong fighting spirit from everyone. Today team Cyprus vs Estonia match has already started.Estonia team came out to bat and gave a target of 145 runs for loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.Cyprus team now came out to bat.They scored 118 runs for loss of 5 wickets in 16.2 overs.Cyprus team will win this match.  Need 28 runs from 22 balls. Although the South African team has already lost a wicket, two experienced batsmen Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram are holding the game at the moment. These two have built a partnership, Quinton de Kock is doing great as he is nearing his half century, surely he will achieve his goal very soon. The amount of runs that are being collected in today's match, if the South African team can survive like this at the end, then it will be possible to collect 200 plus runs in today's match.  And if this huge score gives USA a target then they will never be able to match South Africa and I think South Africa will win today's match.

As the game hasn't started yet I'll put the four teams in the best position for the semi-finals. According to my prediction India, West Indies, Australia and South Africa will be among the four teams.

LOL.. India and Australia are in the same group. This means that things will get difficult for India. Defeating Bangladesh and Afghanistan maybe easy, but in order to finish at the top of the group they need to defeat the Aussies as well. The other group is relatively easier, with USA among the participants. From that group West Indies and South Africa are likely to qualify for the semi-finals. The pitches will be more supportive for batting, as from now onwards all the matches will be scheduled in West Indies.

The ICC may have created the groups in such a way that the strongest teams secure the semi-finals. According to ICC predictions, India and Australia will secure the semi-finals from this group and South Africa and England from another group will secure the semi-finals. If the eight teams played one match each in the quarter finals, the competition would have been tight and from there the top four teams in the points table would have qualified for the next round. If this was done, the tournament would have been a little longer, but there would not have been so much criticism of the ICC for making this schedule.
