Useless only those coins that come up from day to day in order to cut us money.  All fraudulent projects are worthless.  And top super.  In them you can invest they can be trusted.

Personally, I invest in coins that do not enter the TOP-100 market cryptocurrency. But I’m afraid to buy coins that take the place of the inj 500 in the market.

Some are not, some are yes. We mist accept the fact that some altcpins were only created because of the project. When a project failed to execute then the altcoins will also have less valie or no valie at all. We have to be very careful on choosing thay kind of coins as well as storing/hodling altcoins like that.

That's a very difficult question.  Because opinions are divided.  There are many good coins and profitable ones.  But there are a lot of crappy coins.  This is true, and with the shitty coins much more.  And with this you need to do something.

I think only 10% from all altcoin are real project. At the start, the developers team was dedicated to the project but in the end because of the tight competition, many developers teams were inactive or had no news about the project

Now days we have more than 1 000 altcoins on the market. The question is, are people really using them? Frankly speaking only bitcoin, ethereum and monero are used for P2P payments. All others are used mainly for speculation purposes. Is it worth buying altcoins now days? I guess no, because all of them excluding tether are following bitcoin price chart.  I mean if bitcoin is going up or down, altcoins are doing same. (Tether is connected to US dollar rate and used mainly for arbitrage trading purposes) So do we really need altcoins? Regarding platforms, only ethereum is mainly used, and mostly for creating ERC tokens. All others, like waves, neo, etc are used very rarely. Monero is used mosly for shady deals because it is untraceable. (I doubt about that, because one dude who opened a shop on a dark web for selling drugs was cached by police last week. Although many altcoins aren't relevant to the space at that some altcoins are posing a good use case in the space. To be since 90% altcoins have no importance in the space but some are useful.

Some are useless, some are not. They can't really all be lumped together. It's a valid point about prices being based on speculation, but I would say for many coins a lot of this speculation is expectation of future utility. I don't think it's the case that all alts are useless.

they have their respective uses. all depends on the development of their project and platform. if those who don't have both. then maybe the asset is garbage that will not have any usefulness and value in the future. coins and platforms are related, we all know that.

It doesn't seem like everything is useless, sometimes the coins will take over positions in the top 10 or top 100. Like PundiX, ODEM, BNB, EGRETIA, etc. These coins will replace the obsolete coins, maybe a few more months Harmony will replace one of the top 100. Altcoin is actually full of competition and altcoin also has an important role in maintaining the stability of bitcoin.

Personally I think that altcoins will rise and become more popular than Bitcoin in the future.  This is because due to several drawbacks of bitcoin.

One drawback is the scalability. With the rise of bitcoin transactions, we can already observe that it takes time to confirm a transaction and this will give advantage to the true altcoins that solves this scalability issue. Another thing is that bitcoin mining needs a considerable power consumption. Therefore, alternative algorithms like PoS will be prefered by the people as those algorithms don't need such a power consumption.


I agree that there are so many useless altcoins. However, my opinion is altcoins that can truly facilitate mass adoption with less barriers won't be useless.

Probably. Knowing that Bitcoin cannot handle all of the world's transactions, should pave the way towards altcoins' success in the future. Nowadays, there's an altcoin for nearly everything we need such as privacy, scalability, and more. Whereas Bitcoin cannot fulfill certain tasks, altcoins will serve well their purpose within the mainstream world.

Still though, the competition is getting fierce each day. With Bitcoin's inception of the Lightning Network, it could render most altcoins useless. While only a few will remain actively supported and traded across several crypto exchanges, Bitcoin will still remain in the lead as a cryptocurrency for micropayments and long-term, reliable investments. Good altcoins that will become extremely useful for the future would be: Ethereum, Monero, IOTA, and Stellar. Not only they're within the top rankings in market cap, but they're also actively developed and supported by their communities and dev teams.

Nonetheless, while most altcoins are useless, there are still a few which are quite useful for the mainstream world. The mentioned alts fit the bill nicely, although they might not be the definitive ones for years to come. You'd just have to consistently do a research to determine which alts are useful and which are not. Just my thoughts

Personally, I do not see anything bad in the fact that altcoins are developing and I consider this to be a laudable deed.  Of course, not without shitty coins.  They are always there.  But all the same Altcoins are very profitable coins.

I am basing my answer as whether alternative cryptocurrencies have value or if it is worth buying based on my own experiences. My experience is mostly as a bounty hunter and doing small trades on many campaigns and exchanges for years now would guarantee me that the coins you mentioned are not the only ones that are used in the market. Many altcoins have value, however small that might be. And as long as you get profit from it, however small the profit might be, then that means the altcoin is being utilized and being trusted by many.

I also do not think 90% of Altcoins are useless, because it is the main instrument for trading in the cryptocurrency market. I think soon we will see a big increase in the Altcoins.
