That's great,, it is nice to hear good news that many big companies accepts and muddle through the evolution of crpto in the world..
I am a big fan and user of Samsung phones,,in fact this new features will help me, not only me but those crypto lovers, in finding alternative ways in protecting their crypto assets..imagine how many users of crypto will compensate on this new phone features,,that seems to be very enormous users who will patronized such use of phones..I guess many other smartphone companies will be going to include crypto in developing their new model of phones..

I see it more like a feature to make people discuss about the new phone(s).

To me, they just wanted to be "the first" smartphone to implement such feature that they can brag about. If the technology became mainstream, they already at the starting line and can immediately proceed to increase the user-base, thus their market.

I would not use something this expensive and this prone to be stolen to keep my keys. -snip-

I would rather worry more about 90% of the apps that were Malwares/Adwares and Online Smartphone Groups that can potentially crack the encryption (using an alibi of testing their phone's security) of the stored private keys than my phone being stolen, I never had such incident.

For me this is a very positive news, we see bitcoin is increasingly recognized and supported by many big companies. This is one of the factors that will help bitcoin spread to all people around the world, thereby boosting the market to grow again. I think soon the big companies will join the cryptocurrency market in the form of releasing cryptocurrency-related products.

Sooner or later this had to happen. If it wouldn't have been Samsung then it would have been another company like Huawei, in my opinion. This is surely great, especially because we see Samsung being the first mobile company that supports cryptocurrency and not some Chinese company, even though that wouldn't be necessarily bad.

I would always prefer Samsung over Huawei as that is under the influence of its own government which has the ambition of ruling the world in place of the USA haha. But anyway am sure that all big telecom companies now are also looking into this trend and if this can be accepted by the market then we can see all of them offering the same feature soon. This can be a major development in our quest for more adoption of cryptocurrency though soon we can see that this industry is going to be dominated by big names slowly killing the idea of decentralization and anonymity. Yup! I think this time it is for real . How funny to think that an issue which spread on social media sites couple of weeks before about pics of an alleged crypto wallet on screen of Samsung smartphone units now do come true . A rumor becomes a reality! But to be honest, people from third world countries (like me) for sure will have a hard time to buy this because it's too expensive that's why they tend to buy a cheaper product but almost got the same quality like Xiaomi.

Nevertheless, this is good for the crypto industry not only because blockchain technology was applied once again but also the fact that Samsung — a big and well-known company — serves as a platform to advertise the use of crypto. I do not want to piss in the pond, but I am not sure that this was developed specifically for private key storage.    It looks like this is a hardware encryption space for all those naughty pictures and videos that people wants to store on their phone. So when someone steal your phone, things like this will not be accessible to them.

Yes, developers will also use this technology to create Crypto currency wallets etc. It is definitely a step in the right direction, but our developers will have to grab the opportunity to create Apps for it now.

Thats what im also thinking.  I think the phone is built with a hardware wallet and not just a regular online wallet because almost any phone can installed an online wallet via the app  . i guess that makes this phone extra ordinary .

True. It's got to be something else. Otherwise no point tauting it as crypto friendly. So either a hardware wallet or some sort of software vault like how most phones come with cloud storage.

I think its confirmed, and honestly it made me goosebump because it looks like most of the big companies are now  supporting cryptocurrency. This is the beginning, we will benefit a lot from this market. 

This will help to mirror the word, summarizing it will be making a good publicity for bitcoin... Who knows with that other companies will follow the same way and the governments will also start to look bitcoin with other eyes.

This is great news! i think gradually all the big industries and companies are coming on board into using cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment for transactions. With the lead coming from Samsung i am sure Apple and other mobile developing companies would come on board soon.

Of course, it is smartphones that have to go with the development of technology. It's the phone manufacturers that are developing the fastest, so they can not let them not use blockchain technology. If more people start using cryptocurrencies, the better!

All the crypto-related sites are obviously reporting it, but the mainstream media only seem to care about the dumb folding phone.  Sounds about right.

Has it really been confirmed? I wonder how exactly they'll implement this and how the keys can be safely stored in the phone. If any hacking happens it'll be a big setback for the company.

It has to be a secure element setup like a hardware wallet. The security assurances there -- as far as we know -- are pretty good. We'll only really know years down the road when this technology is sufficiently hardened.

I'm pretty surprised to see Samsung jumping into the fray with consumer key storage this soon. I agree the optics will be bad if there are any serious security holes with their implementation.

This is great news for every crypto enthusiast! I read some news about it, but I did not care by thinking a fake rumor! After hearing about the JP  organ's coins, I was really excited by assuming the future of crypto. Now, another big name Samsung making big news for the crypto platform. And, I think too, Crypto will have all the big facilities. I want to mention Twitter's CEO Jacke Dorsey's words " Bitcoin will be the money for the Internet" and it will be used in our real life permanently.

I like their update, it's so pro crypto but I'm not thinking of buying yet, this phone is very expensive and out of my budget now.
This is certainly a big boost in the industry, samsung one of the biggest in the business are adopting crypto or helping to grow the adoption.
