Thanks for the simple clarity, does that mean that both the exchange and the project conducting the ico have a mutual benefit?

At the moment I know quite a few projects that had originally planned an ICO, but are now switching to an IEO.
But if you don't land cooperation with a large exchange with a lot of volume, the chances of success are pretty limited.

What I can see with IEO is that the exchange will have a big share of the collected funds because you used their popularity to promote your ICO, instant exchange listing and used the exchange to collect funds so no need to create a platform for accepting crypto anymore. So it benefits both the coin dev team and the exchange team.

IEO is just a kind of ICO.
Exchange select the better program they think to list and do the coin offering. It is like Nasdaq which select good projects to be listed.

We've seen it that despite of the market conditions, they are for a way to survive. Things might change in the future if these IEO won't buy the public.

Both still focus on token purchase but the different is instead of the developers dispatching the coins, they give the tokens to the exchanges who will dispatch the tokens to investors.

One thing for sure is that; IEO do not  guaranty that a shitcoins will not go down the drill when the time comes.

The con there is that, (1)  investors will be free from scam developers who intend to steal from them.
2) Avoid littering their identity info through KYC in different websites. Since the exchange already have their information.

3) Since an exchange already have the token, listing won't be a problem. And also you get to choose on which project to invest in since many developers ends up listing coins in exchanges which are not even worth it.

If the token you intend to purchase is listed on Binance, you can take it as an additional plus. *Yet, it's not a guaranty that the coin will survive in the long run.

In my opinion I think it a great  concept by binance and bittrex ( I am not sure about bittrex announced or not). And Ico can be destroyed by the IEO. Because people will give more importance IEO than Ico. Because exchange verify  project before launch. So genarally   people will trust IEO than Ico and scamming  will be reduced .

This is an addition, there are news now that the ieo scheduled for bittrex exchange (Raid project) has faked partnership

Is this a sign that ieo is not here to stay ?
Will situations like this affect the reputation of bittrex exchange ??

I think IEO, exchange holding IEO means after funding is over, listing is guaranteed there. Many ICOs don't get to good exchange where the liquidity problem lies.

i think IEO's will be the new trend on Initial Offerings, both exchnages and coins/tokens will be benefit from that but most of all investors will be benefit.
The best IEO so far is the ICO of Venethor Coin (vntr) which is launched on Cryptoplanex Exchange, for every 100,000 coins at 2000 sat, the investor will get the 1% of the Cryptoplanex Exchange which is based in U.K and is on official operations since Dec 2018.
11 coins, including usd, are listed on Cryptoplanex and you can deposit and withdraw fiat money through Transfer Wise.

With the news of fake partnership of raid on bittrex..  I really have a mixed feeling on its survival..  But in crypto space,  anything can happen,  so let's watch out for it's survival in the long run.

I think IEO, exchange holding IEO means after funding is over, listing is guaranteed there. Many ICOs don't get to good exchange where the liquidity problem lies.

IEO provides better liquidity for trading afterward as a large user base is already guaranteed. The exchange will also offer a convenient platform for contributors to manage their funds and helps to review the projects and filter out scams it is also good since exchanges have much better KYC support that safe for crypto investors. It's much safer to trust even a new project that will plan to enter in crypto if they will use trusted exchanges.

Initial exchange offering i.e. IEO is an another way to raise funds. Why I said another way? Because we know that ICO has been banned by many countries. So total funds to be raised, projects can not achieve their goals.
Initial Exchange Offering, means a project gets listed on an exchange directly without going through an ICO. We see more of these types of token issuing in countries where ICOs are restricted. Also now a days we are seeing projects coming up with new model called security token offering i.e. STO and seems it's becoming more popular now a days.
To mention here, I came across a project called VELIC, and it has another new fun raising model which is IAO i.e. initial auctions offering. Ist it interesting?

ICO that use an exchange to held their coin offering or in short IEO already run for a long time. it became popular  recently because of some big exchange that run it and become a hype because of it's succes.
because of this hype investor will most likely choose ICO that run on exchange or IEO rather than normal ICO.

Yes, the current ICO (or IEO) will still exist. Only it will be subject to stricter control, as well as the need for major partners to ensure success.
Bittrex has just postponed their first IEO, also because of external information troubles. So I think now is the time for really quality projects.

IEO appeared and began to be in trend just after many disastrous ICO.For investors, it's like a breath of fresh air.As mentioned by the author of the post Fetch collected the necessary amount quickly enough.And this suggests that there are investors and they have not gone away.Apparently IEO is really becoming relevant for many exchanges.Because many announce a similar method of fundraising.Will survive or not this method will show time.

IEO is just another form of ICO and therefore nothing special. That's why i do not find it special when a project organizes an ico on a exchange. What's important are the goals of the project and whether they are doing an ICO or IEO.

ieo I really like because the chance that the developers will be scammers is very low , I think ieo completely replace the ico in the next bullish trend as if the exchange is good and worries about its reputation will produce only high-quality projects
