All my old wallets cannot be refreshed any more, showing this message: Error: refresh failed: transaction extra parse error. Blocks received: 6321 I have different wallets: name1.bytecoin.wallet name2.bytecoin.wallet ... I updated my wallet sw on Ubuntu Linux from version 0.8.4.290 before to 0.8.5.306 now, but the message still exists. A freshly created wallet works fine. But if I run simplewallet with one of my older wallets I'm getting the error as shown above. I have made a backup of my wallets. But what is happening here? How can I regain access to my wallets?

Big announcement! The old version of wallet doesn't work correctly, and you must refresh binaries. You need to replace the existing files. Here is link to BCN site - bytecoin.org

Here is link to BCN site - bytecoin.orgThis is exactly what I did. The only thing that I not yet reloaded is the blockchain in directory .bytecoin. At this point I try to install a windows version and to make it run there. But only temporarily, this is not a solution.

Windows or Linux?
My platform is Ubuntu Linux 12.04. For my test with Windows I have to install a fresh 64 Bit OS version. Will take some time. I have no 64 Bit Windows here, have to buy one first.

Monero surpassed bytecoin hashrate AFAIK, Monero developers managed to optimise the binaries - that’s why monero’s hashrate is where it is now. Would really love to see the source code for this drastic changes.

Hey guys, been on vacation and didn't follow BCN's fate - trying to catch up! First thing first - where is my dear friend going2mars? Can't find him or his posts. I missed something? The deep web got him bro. All I know is one second, there were posts and cryptic puzzles, then someone said something about Cicada 3301, then there was a moth logo, then BOOM! Deep web got him. True story. G. Never heard about missing people in the Internet. Looks like we've got our own Matrix-Crypto-world. This is like a detective story: there were puzzles and than ....puff... going2mars has disappeared. IMO, he's got dev's philosophy and decided to support their willing to stay in shadow. The first rule about BCN community is that you don't talk about BCN community True story Has anyone tried to find him? If it possible to disappear without a trace? Btw, do you really think that bcn devs have contacted him ?

Who is going2mars?
He was one of the earliest members of the Bytecoin community. After a while he deleted all his msgs from this topic and never been online ever since.

He was one of the earliest members of the Bytecoin community. After a while he deleted all his msgs from this topic and never been online ever since. That's suck as he was smart and always supplied us with info about puzzles and other interesting to notice things about Bytecoin and about devs. I remember he posted the letter about devs view on anonymity that BCN's community should keep, and one or two days later he had disappeared. In that moment I was sure, that was the reason of his disappearance
