Extreme Pool Critical Update
Everyone that is mining at http://bcn.extremepool.org please download the latest miner and connect using stratum to the stratum ports.

This latest pool update will be much more stable and fixes the constant reject issue everyone was seeing with the old software/miner and http ports.

My goal today, now that this update is complete, will be to get many miners and get the pool hash rate up.

Enjoy!!

Good luck with making h/r up  Wink
Nice to see people willing to upgrade their project.

Is there some minimal limit for sending BCN? I sent from my wallet to my wallet 1 BCN but the transaction was 300 BCN not 1 BCN.
If anybody knows could you explan it? Did I something wrong?
Thank you.

I did:
transfer 0 address 1 1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234

And I received:
Height 487136, transaction <669889cb3477b5927b7b03b46d06d2d2baefbde70e686f61634083907325e519>, received 0.09000000

Height 487136, transaction <669889cb3477b5927b7b03b46d06d2d2baefbde70e686f61634083907325e519>, spent 300.00000000
Refresh done, blocks received: 1
You only sent 1. Like with bitcoin, the rest is change (money that is returned to your wallet). Fee is 0.01,
"When the output of a transaction is used as the input of another transaction, it must be spent in its entirety. Sometimes the coin value of the output is higher than what the user wishes to pay. In this case, the client generates a new Bitcoin address, and sends the difference back to this address. This is known as change.

Say you want to buy a candy bar ($1) from a store. You open your wallet (fiat wallet) and inside there is a single $20 bill. What is the min amount you can pay? It isn't $1; you can't rip up 1/20th of the bill and give it to the cashier. You need to pay $20 and since you only owe $1, the cashier gives you back $19."

Thank you now it is more clear. btw. my daughter loves the gaygeorge2...  Roll Eyes

It's a brand new design and code with much better privacy based loosely on BTC concepts (block chain). Cryptonote is the name of the protocol used by BCN and some other coins (MRO, QCN, etc.)

nice alt for bitcoin, wallet is not easy

Also, the wallet is basic computing you can have it open in just about 10 seconds.

Command Prompt to your wallet directory > simplewallet > It will ask for the name of your wallet > Password of Wallet

There are so many tutorials in this thread alone that will get you up and running that its almost crazy to even post that it is not easy.

Are the devs ever going to make any improvements to the wallet, add a gui, or anything for this to takeoff?

The MRO guys are working on a GUI wallet in QT, once it's released the Bytecoin developers can copy the code.

What about exchanges? I purchase it on CryptoNote exchange, but are there any plans to add to an exchange such as cryptsy?  Or is it not ready? It seems to me it's still in a early development mode to the public even though it's been around the deep webs for a couple years.

I'm very excited about this coin. I know there's no rush but once all these other so called "anonymous" coins fail, Bytecoin is going to mars, maybe Jupiter.

Especially if it comes out as true that Satoshi Nakamoto is involved with the Bytecoin project.
