What happened with price?  Huh
BCN is selling for 6 satoshis on Poloniex and stupid Monero for more than 400 000. WTF?

Come on really?

BCN 150,000,000,000 * 6 / 100,000,000 = 9,000 Bitcoin market cap.

MRO 1,000,000 * 400,000 / 100,000,000 = 4,000 Bitcoin market cap.

You need to research coin release and understand the amount of coins before rushing to the forums in surprise.

:p

Bytecoin is still worth more than Monero.

I honestly can't tell if you support bytecoin or you're against.

Your posts confuse me

To be honest without the Bytecoin developers still working on their coin the Monero team wouldn't be forced to compete, so hopefully this little battle actually causes both of these coins to do well!

I love the tech but I'm against the premine, it's really that simple. However people coming on the forum and freaking out that the Monero price per coin is higher frustrates me. I don't understand how someone can be involved in a monetary system but have no idea about its details. I really hope that guy didn't invest anything into any CryptoCurrency. :p

I wonder why till today? I mean there was already a comment describing what dev should do and when why not till that day??
IMo it's pointless to talk what they should do - better to think what we can do

Totally agree, and that's the point of MRO. All we can do is create clones or implement CN ourselves. Then again the point of MRO might be pointless, because they have a 2 year head start on us. Any work done is probably already invalidated, but maybe not if the BCN devs were kidnapped or something spooky.

lol! Kidnapped devs - that would be fun ! I think there's always a way to achieve goals set by majority and actually we, BCN's community, are the only force to make changes  - we can promote coin, guys who are well educated in programming can improve bin files as they are opened, we are the leverage to market's price.

Satoshi Nakamoto kidnapped the Bytecoin devs.

What if he is one of the devs? When he had been kidnapped by himself  ?  Grin

Me either. IMHO he is for justice but with an emphasis on supporting MRO! Am I right?

You're not allowed to publish a Bitcoin application that allows for the sending or receiving of Bitcoins on any iOS device.

From the looks of it, this application simply pulls in market data and allows the user to convert a monetary value from one currency to another.

According to Poloniex prices of all cryptonight coins has dropped.

Interesting but the price of BCN MRO and QCN has the same trend to go up or down at the same time  but diff volatility

well, now I see  that it's just a converter. But the price in this converter is related with the price on exchange  - PoloniEx. Nice and easy converter. Decided to download it  Smiley

Nice converter - is there an application for HTC? or it's for iPhone only? would be good to have one but i prefer old fashion way to trade coins!

Some dumbass dumped a massive amount all at once, its down to 2 satoshi on cryptonote exchange and poloniex. Well I'm not selling for anything under 10 satoshi, 2 satoshi is abysmal. Angry
Don't panic. Stabilize the price with buying some for 2 and selling for 10.

If a dev mines years in secret isn't it a pre-mine?

Anyways, I have a question about the technology itself.

I'm a fan of ring signatures and am not a fan of these "masternodes" that Darkcoin uses.

But a lot of the masternode supporters say that ring signature blockchains will become so bloated that they'll never be useful. Can someone calculate how bloated they would be? Like if Bytecoin or Monero had the same transaction volume as Bitcoin, how much larger would the chain be?

I would estimate roughly a factor of 10, based on the product of average ring signature ambiguity (~3, including all the 0's) and the additional ouputs due to amounts being broken up (also ~3, since many transactions are for whole numbers that can easily be constructed with just a few outputs).

Regarding Darkcoin: The increase in the number of outputs also occurs here because of amount breakdown and pooling, so that factor is about the same. So it's a contest between the linear scaling of ring signatures and the linear scaling of cascading through several masternodes. Cascading is mandatory since any individual masternode knows the sender-receiver mapping and can keep logs. While the anonymity of ring signatures is provably guaranteed, the masternode cascading needs to be done many, many times for anyone to realistically trust the anonymity. My guess is that Darkcoin is more bloated if it chooses to actually be anonymous (using >10 stage cascading).

I have made some calculations on CryptoNote based coins profitability yesterday:

DIFF is difficulty (Mh)
PRICE  is price of 1 coin in BTC via https://cryptonote.exchange.to/market/bcn/btc
BR is block reward, BR(BTC) is block reward price in BTC
PROF is mining profitability (BTC you get per 1Mh)

So my intuitive decision to switch my hash power back to BCN was after all correct.

I wonder whether this consideration indeed affect the miners' decisions (at least like me, on intuitive level). QCN's price dropped recently, and so did the difficulty. FCN had it vice versa.

Ironically, even with the current low value of BCN, it is still most profitable to mine. And even more ironically, due to the very "low" price nobody is mining. Come on people, if you compare BCN's price with MRO, just keep in mind that the number of total coins supply is 10,000 times larger than in MRO.

If you mine BCN out, how can you sell them out?
The volume in poloniex is only 1.5btc today, and when you sell BCN equal 0.1 btc, the price will drop 20%.

I'm actually buying it and holding. I believe, the coins is largely undervalued and will see a price boost in the next few weeks.
