The newbies that pop up saying its not a scam are shill/sockpuppet accounts for a Bytecoin bagholder...Trying to get you to buy so they could sell their coins to you even if it means lying and deceit.

This has been constant debate before this coin and Monero/BBR etc. were even on exchange, you just add this to argument, so lets consider bag holding irrelevant.

This coin was indeed instamined over 80% and the blockchain is your proof. You can see that over 80% of Bytecoins total coin supply was mined before it became public. AKA a 80%+ premine.

If yourself and anyone else chooses to go back and read from the start, they will a graph of the block chain that shows steady mining from 2012 onward, you say instamine when it took years to get to this point. Choose your words wisely, unless you intent is to spread FUD.

This public is considered bitcointalk? Is this the only avenue to spread information? Is it not legit unless its on this forumn? The devs have stated they did not want affiliation with Bitcoin.

Im sure the majority of people in this thread know nothing about timekoin, but if it was posted on here with booming success it would be considered a instamine because you didnt have a chance to get it from the start? (This may not be a great example as the mining and mint works differently)

I've finally synchronized my blockchain with this new version of code and downloaded some statistics. Here is a difficulty chart starting from the genesis block.
Spike in november 2012 looks strange for me, but it exists in data.

I would like it to be noted that thankful_for_today is the original creater of Bitmoner, no Monero.

I don't know if you're trolling or not. Yes, I meant to put premined instead of instamined. Bytecoin was released privately to a few individuals on the deepwebd(illegal part of the web using TOR etc), so it was inacessible by anyone else until a member found it and released it on bitcointalk, to the majority of bitcoiners. So it was indeed premined over 80% over the span of 2 years according to the Bytecoin Blockchain. There's no denying that, and there's no denying that only a few people own over 80% of all Bytecoins that would ever be made.

What is the truth about the bcn premine?

Most experts seem to say it was heavily premined and is a scam, but there are lots of new people who just popped up saying it was not premined.

How could a person find out the truth?

Should a person trust the experts and avoid the coin?

Or should they trust the people who are selling the coin?

How can someone decide?

The newbies that pop up saying its not a scam are shill/sockpuppet accounts for a Bytecoin bagholder...Trying to get you to buy so they could sell their coins to you even if it means lying and deceit.

I've been looking through coinmarketcap thread recently and i didnt like what i saw there.
We all know that BCN got significantly premined status on coinmarketcap so some people were asking (nicely) for this status to be removed. Then trolls came and a holy war started. And that darkota dude was there too, claiming that bytecoin is so premined blah blah..

hello, how long does it take to instal it on PC? I've looked through the thread and it seems to take a while to sync  daemon with the block chain, right? Is it really CPU only? or there is a GUI miner already?

I am far from my Wins and curious does it worth to start mining on mac book? (talking about solo mining)

it may take a couple of hours.

Yes, it is only cpu-mining coin. NO GUI MINER. No need!

I have a wallet or blockchain error, not sure which at this stage. I can't spend at all any amount.
I have deleted wallet.bin and resynced the wallet, it did not make any difference.
The daemon claims I am trying to spend already spent "key images", the wallet chose to include them, so is this a wallet code error?
Is my copy of the blockchain corrupt? Whatever it is there is a bug somewhere that caused this.
Next time I will not attempt to do two spends in a row without waiting for the first to be reported by the blockchain in the wallet.
That is the scenario I think that caused this.

The wallet says:

Code:
transaction <XXX> rejected by daemon with status "Failed"

The wallet logs says:

Bytecoin first, Monero second.

I support Monero because I believe Bytecoin was 80% premined two years in secret or has faked block data.

That's too long story to tell. What I can tell is that there are people who strongly believe BCN to become the second Bitcoin and invest in this coin, and people who believe this coin was premined and so there was a launch of BCN fork - Monero, that, at first, was called BitMonero.

I've tried to describe in a few words.

On the contrary with drawingthesun, I support Bytecoin.
You know, even Litecoin is good coin it's not the same as Bitcoin. It's definitely better to invest in first coin.

I should concede that XMR dev team has done a lot for Monero but not as important as BCN dev team has made for Bytecoin.

It's your choice what coin to mine, no one can be sure about the future as you can't predict everything. I've already made my choice.

Bytecoin (BCN) - true anonymity, privacy protection and only CPU-mining

Well, Monero is a clone of Bytecoin. Techology, code - everything is copied. And it seems like it works for them... OR they just wanna make it look like it works, because their favorite form of entertainment appears to be trolling everybody Wink

Exactly. What i've figured out for myself is that you should not take everything said on this forum seriously without researching it and making up your  mind.  Scam is a regular thing here, some people can play dirty.

The proof is easy to find :
Bytecoin (BCN) is a cryptocurrency started on July 4, 2012
First thread about Bytecoin is March 12, 2014

Guys! BCN community creates a media fund!

We need to increase the media activity around our lovely Bytecoin.

We will create a special resource that will allow us to get the latest content about BCN.

You will be able to contribute your pics, videos, articles etc and get reward for it.

Any type of website content sharing will also earn you amazing rewards.

Every one involved would be rewarded with a fine amount. And as usual we are offering to invest in the idea. This will help increase BCN and our equity in the future!

Invest in Bytecoin media fund, send some BCN to this address

Code:
25jTZUc23JhWu2TpfWQkx92UZ3PjmHWiUQt7iWpckMk6CZRZrFosqFU4YXXiYwKFRx4JQ3S2Yi6doFD21J8t2C5324zEE3S

All links coming soon...

Now there's 3,420,000 BCN in the Bytecoin media fund

But it seems like such a cool coin and the people on this thread say it was not premined.

How could it have such a high marketcap if it is a scam?

Doesn't the high marketcap mean lots of people are buying it
it is not a scam, people just like to spread FUD.  This coins wasn't premined.  It just wasn't announced publicly on bitcointalk.org.

If you use there analogy then I could say that bitcoin was premined because I wasn't aware of it until 2 years after it launched.

bytecoin is holding his price stable and i am really impressed of the coin. Monero price is falling like a rock. i could not decide between these two coins but thank god i started BCN mining  Grin
what i also like about this coin is the cpu mining. you can even play games perfectly while mining Bytecoins.

buy gold !
