I think its hard to analyze or predict if which one is better to place a bet in a insect fight.  So, I dont think its a good idea to place a bet a inserct fight.

Haha. It is a spider game. It is one of the trend during my elementary days. I will bet in case there is only few amount of bet. I think the highest amount I could risk is 1 to 2 dollars. But risking my whole portfolio would be a danger to my trading investment. I prefer to play poker than this game though this is also cool.

Yes, because we don't know which one will win and it depends on them itself. If the insect is a fighter type, I think that will be the winner, and if not, then he cannot win. Exactly, this game can't give us fun. Actually i am against of this type of games, because it is humiliate the animals and insects. I don't know if its real fun but there is no thrill to seeing that fight unless you don't have to use magnifying lense to watch. Spiders is much easy to watch a much bigger insects on the sticks. But instead of counting 3 falls, watching the spiders eat each other will be worth watching. You can see it like who is on top of the food chain among the spider area, I think those in biology will like it more than cockfight.

It depends on the kind of battle and insects your society likes. Spider battles has also been popular during my childhood and even up now, that kind of tradition and fight is still alive.
