Rakhmonov is out of the UFC after injuring his knee again.  Sad as I think he has the best chance to beat Makhachev with the three fighters you mentioned.  Michael Morales is second.

Anyway, do you guys think Rodrigues is a live underdog against Hernandez?

According to the reports, he is back in training and let's see how it goes and whether he will return this year end or early next year. Michael Morales and Carlos Prates have serious knockout power, but on the ground Makhachev is levels above and only Rakhmonov has that elite ground game which makes things interesting for diehard fans.
It is hard to pick against the relentless pace and grappling of Hernandez.

Yeah he's back training but is he still under contract with the UFC are has he been let go?  If it's the latter then there's a good chance that he's damaged goods.  Go look into that.

He could still fight in lower MMA organizations tho like the PFL or some regional outfits.

As for Hernandez vs Rodrigues, I think Hernandez last loss took a toll and he could be a couple of fights before getting back on track.  The UFC should've given him an easier opponent instead of Rodrigues.

Those who dont want to build crazy parlays might take a look on Barbosa vs Kuse fight. Barbosa is 18-2 in overall record, came from Uncle Dana series, had one win, but his opponent is having a debut fight in UFC and comes with 2 week notice. Might be a good and easy pick. But I might be wrong

I dont know what is more shocking for me. Merab vs Yan third fight, or Volk vs Evloev fight finally to happen. Or that Alexander Volkov is fighting Kuniev instead of finally getting a title fight I think I am more pumped with Volkanovski vs Evloev. Evloev had a very long path to that fight. If he loses, then Volkanovski has no more opponents in weight class who can beat him.

Volka's fight against Evloev will be good, but I still think Volka will win. He has more experience in five rounds, and even if Evloev takes him down for five rounds in a row, he will need to control Volka on the ground. Just remember the fights he had against Islam; Islam's face was unrecognizable, and the same will happen with Evloev. Volka only loses if he is taken down and controlled. Otherwise, he wins by decision and because he has more significant strikes: Volka has 6 strikes per minute, and Evloev has 3.91, which says a lot.

In the match between Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev, Islam had the opportunity to take down Volkanovski very easily. And Volkanovski's weakness was that after Islam downed him, he took a long time to recover his position and at that time Islam kept the fight in full control. Spivak and Rodrigues are also slight underdogs.  The rest I don't really know about much, so no reason to pick them from my point of view.

Maybe Islam’s fights against JDM and Garry weren’t that exciting, but I think it was an important detail that you brought up what happened to Alex and Ilia when they moved up a weight class. They both looked like fish out of water.

Islam currently holds the longest winning streak in UFC history and wants to extend it even further. It would be much easier for him to do this in the lightweight division, but he wants to do it in the welterweight division. I think we’re witnessing something unprecedented in UFC history. Islam is building this record in a tougher weight class rather than in his comfort zone. Ilia and Alex seemed to have that potential, but they couldn’t pull it off.

Ilia Topuria didn't look like a fish out of the water in Lightweight. I would say that he is as good as he was previously and I would even say that he is extremely good. Just look at the second round against Gaethje, you'll see a pure masterpiece. Ilia's reason of losing was his ego. He wanted to finish Gaethje in the first and second round with knockout or if not in these rounds, he wanted knockout 100% and because if this reason, to keep a short distance, he let him to punch him in the face and the result actually was that Ilia couldn't rich him and his face got swollen. If it wasn't his ego, I'm 100% confident he would beat Gaethje. And this Gaethje is also animal, the man jumped on his neck, almost broke it and acted like nothing happened

Smaller fight nights usually are always bangers. You also find real gems in many of the less publicized matches on big fight cards. This will be the ufc version of never skipping a low quality video  

I missed all of the fights due to the timing, I only stay awake for the really big fight cards, but I'll catch up with all the action over the course of the week.

I also feel that Volk can beat Evloev because his finish rate is zero, so you cant control Volk with zero finish rate. Otherwise he will also be like Islam Makhachev in his first fight with Volk. In the second fight he knocked him out. It was a lucky kick from Islam Makhachev. That's why Evloev should take a risk and try to knock out Volk otherwise it will be a very tough night for him. Evloev is also a good wrestler but only wrestling will not save him from Volk. But guys it will be a good fight. I think there will be a knockout. Lets hope we see a great fight.

Preliminary card looks decent too.  Excited for this week's degen parlay.  Hopefully everybody gives their suggestions for underdogs this week.

I think the same way, Volka can fight as many rounds as he wants just defending; he has a rate of 6 significant strikes per minute. Taking him down and trying to dominate him is complex, especially at the beginning; he doesn't give up. Just remember the fights against Islam, which I mentioned here. Islam's face was unrecognizable; I hope Evloev has a strong chin. My bet is on Volka easily.

Hernandez gave a good show and won the crowd over, but that was not a fight he will be happy with. He needed a win after that TKO loss to Strickland, but got beaten again, and this time by a guy ranked below him.
Back to the drawing board for him and he has to put his dreams of big money fights on hold for now.

Strangely enough, it wasn't a great fight for Gregory Rodrigues either. There were times Hernandez was in big trouble and looked like he already mentally accepted a defeat, but Rodrigues' inability to finish the job gave Hernandez a second wind.

Nevertheless, Hernandez dropped down by two places in Meta rankings, while Rodrigues jumped up by 3 places.

What to make a crazy parlay, pick all non-Asia/China guys They most probably are huge underdogs, while other guys fight at homeland. Ancient and secret Chinese medicine and acupuncture will juice these guys to Bane Seriously, most of Asian guys are favorites, just mix your bet with Asian underdogs and you are good Would you give Yadong chances against Umar? Maybe bet on fight going full distance instead of picking winner in their matchup? Both guys have more UD than finishes in last fights.

Volk held off makhachev and I'm sure he will make easy work of Movsar because he is not a big threat on the feet or in grappling either. Even though Volk has been aging, he hasn't shown any decline and in the last fights, he performed very well.

Why don't they simply make a fight between Sean O'Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov? I think that most of us want to see that fight. Petr Yan vs O'Malley is another fight that we want to see but before that Merab has to fight against Yan because it would be extremely unfair to give a title fight to Sean right now, after everything what happened.

My crystal ball tells me to take a closer look on Liu Ce vs. Junior Tafa fight, because Tafa is replaced with Levi Rodrigues Jr. who is an underdog in that fight. Liu Ce has a huge kickboxing background and only few mma fights. Levi has also more knockdowns than submissions, however he is from place where bjj is transmitted at the genetic level Might turn that underdog with 2.60 aint that underdog after in that fight That does not mean he will submit him, but in two similar style clash, fighter with extra skill has an advantage imho.

In the fight between Umar and Yadong, I'm betting on more than 4.5 rounds. It's going to be one of those fights where Umar will try to take him down, control him, and fight against the cage. I think it's unlikely that Yadong or Umar himself will win by submission, because both like to take the fight to the judges' decision.

Why don't they simply make a fight between Sean O'Malley and Umar Nurmagomedov? I think that most of us want to see that fight. Petr Yan vs O'Malley is another fight that we want to see but before that Merab has to fight against Yan because it would be extremely unfair to give a title fight to Sean right now, after everything what happened.

I think the UFC moved away from doing immediate rematches and reserves them only for special circumstances. I think both Petr and Sean would rather fight each other than fight Merab or Umar. And fans would also like to see that fight, so I think this is most likely to happen.
If so, Merab would probably have to fight down against someone from the top 10. Alternatively, we could see Umar Vs Merab fighting again for the next title shot, but that would mean Merab sitting idle for quite a long time.

Bantamweight need fresh blood and new names in top. Otherwise we again will see same fighters fighting each other as we see it in lightweight. Arent you tired of seeing trilogies ? I think again in a fight between Merab and Yan, one will come after injury and once again there will be controversies by people saying "if only he had this cured/did not have that injury, fight would go...".
