In order of most favored:

NEO: (Personal Fav). Huge Chinese Crypto industry. Working with the government. Smart Contracts. Also GAS!
ETH: 2nd Market cap. First at smart contracts. Reliable. But they are falling behind hence second.
XRP: Riding the hype. Big company. Well organized. Centralized

I think that of the three coins that you wrote here, I only invest in Ethereum because I do not believe two other coins. I believe that our cryptocurrency world does not need them

Ethereum and NEO is a good altcoin in the market with a real product but personalky Im not a fan of ripple since its controllable by the bank.
My favorite altcoins so far are EOS, IOST and TRON which are three powerful altcoin in the market and also have awesome dapp running, you can consider this three as a good investment just check out their goal in the market.

i think NEO and ethereum is a good choice, but not with XRP because its centralized and you knew it
so, its better to replace XRP with the others altcoins, maybe IOTA, TRX or Cardano is a good options rather than XRP my friend

You can choose any coin you want because this market has over 2000 coins for you to choose from in this market. The investment needs a great consideration and you are responsible for all your actions because not all coins can help you earn good profits. I will only invest in Bitcoin at this time and will invest in other pennies as the market enters uptrend.

In terms of Altcoin investments I will still prefer my previous coin of choice which is Ethereum, Litecoin and Dash. I also like Monero but I never have it before. There are actually a lot of coins out there but we cannot guarantee for a 100% profit. Some Altcoins are not worth it to invest because of the fact that they are really the most affected one's when Bitcoin's price started to go down and that is why some Alts die and some will likely having a hard time to bounce back.

At this moment, I only invested in Ethereum and Electroneum and also Matrix AI network. Most of my capital is on the Bitcoin since I'm holding it for the long run.

Many believe that the bull run has started already therefore, investing in Alts at this moment is I think a good time if you want to ride on the train but take note that the market can do a major correction after this continuous rise although the probability of it to happen is small.

These 3 altcoins are good but you also can add bitcoin cash, bitcoin cash has a good hype and when the market in green, bitcoin cash usuall has the highest increase. Litecoin also good though. If you have some more free money that you want to invest, invest it on bitcoin cash and litecoin.

You have made good choices. Another one to add would be EOS, it has came as a strong competitor of Ethereum and I can see a lot of EOS dapps on the rise. EOS is taking the dapps market with storm. The more the use the more would be it's value as the number of it is limited and there no mining.

Other than XRP you can invest on other alts you have mentioned,there are some other alts of my favourite are XMR,LTC,and IOTA these are pretty low now but soon after the bullish trend on bitcoin confirmed these coins also will get bumped too much.

You have made good selections, and I think you are the best person to decide on which altcoin to buy after your own research, for me in place of xrp, I would go for xlm. Everyone should have their reason for picking a particular coin based on their research.

Altcoins have only 1 purpose, acquiring more BTC from noobs. It was always about Bitcoin and Bitcoin alone. Shitcoins will never matter. The trading volume coming from the legit exchanges confirms it. Shitcoins have little to none trading volume. Their market cap is a lie.
