ico are completely dead to me. the rate at which new icos coming up has drastically declined this Q3-Q4 of the year. many investors where scammed by investors on a daily basis but not any more. everyone has wise up

Saddest part, but it is the reality that Bitcoin is already dead, look at those ICO that was introduced this year, very few has been successful or just raised a little amount of fund during their time, so for me, we should not be hype over ICO, it is not a good source of income anymore, we should look for something that is worth it like IEO, trading.

I am pretty sure that what you mean is dead is ICO, not bitcoin. in fact, there are still some successful ICOs this year, it's just that ICO is inferior to IEO. now there are quite a lot of IEO that have more success than ICO.

I think there are still ICO developments out there that still have the potential to thrive, like if a project holds an ICO, but cooperates with a papal company, and also an exchanger. it can be an added value for ICO. unfortunately until now, there has not been another ICO like that.

lack of funds is an obstacle for developers to develop their projects. the enthusiasm of investors plays a role in project development. because of the many fraudulent projects, the investor then left until finally the ICO died

Why is it always about the money? There have been many successful businesses that started with almost nothing and while bitcoin is not a business but a form of money the same can be said about it, satoshi didn't needed the investment of anyone and despite all of this he created something that will most likely change the world, when you take this into account then I question myself why developers need so much money when satoshi already did most of the work?

well, ICO is not completely dead, because what we know is that there are a lot of scammers who are in ICO from 2017-2018 to 2019, but there is an important point when we want to follow the ICO to see the project how the project works for the future and a good team and moreover again with the regulations that's what ICO needs for now

ICO's pamour is surpass by IEO lately this year, and also because of many scams from ICO making ICO project is not interesting for most investors anymore.
But yeah i'm aggree with you there are still few ICO project with a great idea and great management but not supported by the investors.

The ICO is not yet extinct, but the existence of ICOs can almost be said that no one else uses ICO as a way to launch tokens / coins, why ICO is almost extinct or is no longer embraced due to trauma / paranoid / fear of the many SCAMs that occurred in 2018, and that is where the transition period in which a new breakthrough that uses the services of a trusted exchanger to organize the collection of funds / purchase of tokens and directly can clearly be traded at the organizer of the organizer / IEO.

Because ICO demand is weaker now compared to 2017 and 2018 where they collect almost a million dollars. And I think this is because of the scam so people have lost confidence in investing in ICOs. The only way for the ICO to last longer is for regulation to revive people's interest in investing in it.

I realized that when the market is pumped every ICO is gone successful because the price are high and there are lots of investors that investing their money in every project because there low possibility that the project failed since there are lot investors and supporters are waiting that particular project to be successful or to be listed. There are new projects arising but it is not called ICO and it is called IEO instead it is way better than ICO as of now for me. Maybe sometime when the market recovers every ICO will be alive again and then there are more projects arising with their unique blockchain technology.

ICO will always live until regulators completely block the air for them, and while they exist on your money, I won’t argue there are some projects that raise money and develop, but the percentage is very small

IEO is much sought after by investors because it generates 5x profit compared to ICO with no price, I see that there is an IEO with good marketing and product development, so it will be in great interest and often sold out within a few hours of its IEO.

I do get your point but technically, ICOs are dead. Although some are still successful especially when hosted on a reputable platform like Coinlist just like Nervos is doing but generally, ICOs are dead. 95 percent of investors will rather choose IEOs over ICOs because of the assurance the former offers.

IEO is indeed profitable if the listing is like in the Binance exchange and we can get it 5X or more after the coin launches.

But there are some IEO projects that choose a new exchange or not too good reputation. is this project good? Can it be profitable? honestly i'm confused with this.

You're totally wrong buddy because the level of collected funds during an ICO initial offering doesn't make an ICO to be good but the concept with the unique strategy prepare by the team and how the team manage the fund collected are something a good ICO. However, genuinely ICO are unable to get the investors attention now cause what investors believe in is now IEO.

Many seem to think that ieos are going to be the answer for the problem of scams that we have had in this market for a very long time, but I disagree even if the number of scams goes down that doesn't necessarily mean that the number of successful projects is going to go up, many ieos just like icos are not original, they are based on coins that already exist and that are successful already, so what it is the point of investing in such coins when you can buy the coin it's based on and that has been in the market for years.

It is difficult to implement any strict rules, because a section of the users here oppose any sort of rules or regulations, claiming that the cryptocurrency market is decentralized and there should not be any central authority dictating the terms. They have their point as well. It is between the ICO promoter and the investor. It is the responsibility of an investor to make sure that a project is not fake, before investing in it. We can talk about several proposals, such as keeping the funds in escrow and such. But when the users are ready to make the investment even without these conditions, why should the ICO promoters bother?
