Prove the majority of forum members agree with you, then I'll stop saying you're wrong. You're just making that up.
I see a small handful of people complaining about ponzis here, but I see hundreds of people playing them.
+1 I do not like ponzis very much but I will like it if a few people continue to cry and scream all over the forum. +2 Ponzis are just like any other gambling game in this section. I don't see why it should be treated as anything else. Why doesnt OP cry about dice games, casinos, mine games and so on? Ponzis are gambling too, simple as that. |

these guys have not been around long enough to understand what these types of business do to bitcoins image. Arguing with people who have been around for less then a year to see the evolution of bitcoin is pointless.

Yes everyone knows. What is your point? The ponzis you are warning people of CLEARLY state that they are ponzi schemes and henceforth the users take the calculated risk of investing. As mentioned earlier, this is just another form of gambling therefore they are advertised in this section quite rightly. |

The arguments for Ponzi scams are supported by nothig more than semantics at this point. The people that support Ponzi schemes call them "games" because they claim to have full knowledge of what the definition of a Ponzi scheme is, but choose to send money to them anyway. It doesn't really matter what they are called or how many people support them. A scam is a scam. You can call it a "game" but supporting them only encourages more. The gambling aspect is that you don't really know when the operator is going to stop paying people out. You're gambling that the money you risk will be paid back. It wouldn't be a gamble if they were always paid back every single time. However that is the aspect of Ponzi scams that is unsustainable. At some point payouts will stop and the Ponzi scam operator will abscond with the funds.
In that regard, it's not a victimless crime - and make no mistake, stealing someone's money is illegal everywhere. So it's not fun or cute to support a scam that is built upon an unsustainable model that eventually, and always, steals money from someone else. I can't believe this even has to be explained that stealing is wrong. Even if you have profited from it or you personally haven't been stolen from (yet) supporting Ponzi scams, it is still absolutely intrinsically wrong. This is all fine and dandy, now can you prove that all 'ponzi scam operators' will run away with the funds since that is what you seem to be basing your opinions on. |
