The altcoin market is a very slow market and it is greatly influenced by Bitcoin. In as much that an increase in Bitcoin's price does not really automatically  affect that of the altcoin market does not specifically mean that Bitcoin has no influence on altcoins. The raise in altcoin market is very slow and the bitcoin influences altcoins in a smaller margin.

in my opinion we will never know market situation and when altcoin price increases, because market always gives us a surprise, therefore I suggest you to buy more altcoin when the price down and hold it, because I'm sure someday there will definitely be a time for altcoin price to increase very high (bull run) and give you a very big profit.

If you expected bull run to commence, of course there's should be a profitable price of every coins. Demand really helpful to attain an expensive price for an altcoin. Once this happened many investors will begun to buy and hold promising alts, and panic will be suppressed.

bitcoin and altcoin are not one another, not interrelated. if anyone says they are related, that is just a coincidence. so, bitcoin determines its own value, while altcoin also determines its own value.

bitcoin has its own market cap, altcoin too. only, an increase or decrease in the trading volume of altcoin, could be influenced by bitcoin because of the widespread popularity of coins in the market.

First, altcoin has its own time to go up, in many cases, altcoin will go up when BTC experiences a sideway.

The price of alts only increases when Bitcoin dominance reaches its peak (70% - 75%). After that, the market will start to have a correction toward the alts.
because sharks find the BTC price high and they will sell Bitcoin to buy more alts at cheaper prices. That is how the market has been operating for the past few years.
So, wait more to buy alts at a good price. I think the alts are still dump in the next time.

I don't think all altcoins are like that, because some alternative coins also increase when bitcoin increases or vice versa,and some altcoins may follow bitcoin when they decline and when the altcoin rises it doesn't increase at all

I don't think all altcoins are like that, because some alternative coins also increase when bitcoin increases or vice versa,and some altcoins may follow bitcoin when they decline and when the altcoin rises it doesn't increase at all 

actually not all altcoins follow the price movements of bitcoin, in fact when bitcoin increases only the closest altcoins feel the effect. but I'm sure there are still some altcoins out there that we don't know can increase when the price of bitcoin rises or falls. it's just that the increase is not too significant

There is no specific time period for the altcoins to get pushed forward reaching big as 2017. As the bitcoin market is gaining support around $9500 it takes little time to cross $10000. Following the rise of bitcoin we can expect the price of altcoins to increase to some level.

Above this for a bigger level of growth it takes time. Importantly the year 2020 is much important for this. I expect the growth of altcoins in large scale to happen once after the update for ethereum is done by the beginning of the year and halving which is scheduled for the middle of the year.

The triggering effect of bitcoin to alts can't really have no certain reason. The difficulty on how to read the motion of the market is high whether you are experienced or not.

When bitcoin goes up sometimes the price of altcoin is still in a bad position. This certainly becomes a problem for all of us, if I think bitcoin is very easy to rise because it follows the positive news flow and vice versa, but altcoin depends on certain projects that can affect the price, for example a project that is well managed then the price of the coin will be good, and altcoin also affects a lot of interest from investors, so it's very different from bitcoin.

In my opinion, this idea of Bitcoin and altcoin disparity is not consistent. The market is volatile and the movement of altcoin and Bitcoin are dependent on the project or token in question and not a wholesome thing. Atimes the increasing value affect both the altcoin and Bitcoin which is the case in a bullish season.

Greed will move the altcoin markets again eventually. This long bear market will make people capitulate near the bottom to move their funds into BTC, when the vast majority of people have sold to BTC, you'll see altcoins start to perform again, the whales will buy all your bags at a 99% discount, and will again make hundreds, or even thousands of BTC in return.

Don't think we'll see a year like 2017 again anytime soon, but when the major altcoin projects starts to release their products, I have no doubt in my mind that we'll see some great movements again. The hype train seems to be long gone, people have lost confidence (for now) in the altcoin market, but greed will turn back, don't even worry about that.

Personally I've diversified a small part of my BTC stack into LINK, ADA, and XSN.

XSN being the most undervalued of all of them by a long shot.

This is because of Bitcoin's dominance in the market which according to one study already reaches 90%, many investors and traders are now converting their nonperforming altcoins to Bitcoin, because of its strong showing or performance in the market, another one is the life span of the majority of altcoins are shorter. if they see slow movement, they will do an exit and convert all those coins to Bitcoin, while looking for another altcoin to invest.

Not all altcoins price will increase, because investors are now more focus on Bitcoin, only altcoins will good concept and community support will be the exception.
