I was looking at the test bowling averages for Indian bowlers:

Mohammed Siraj: 30.87
Prasidh Krishna: 26.00
Mohammed Shami: 27.71
Shardul Thakur: 28.38

Ravichandran Ashwin: 24.00
Washington Sundar: 25.20

Out of these bowlers, Siraj is the only one with a >30 average. I am not sure how he is able to find an automatic spot in the playing XI every time. Perhaps close relations with Kohli and Rohit helps.

Fans hate Siraj due to his overboard antics but IMO these stats are misleading because they indicate career average and not Australia specific stats.

Bumrah is one of the greatest bowlers to play cricket. Siraj has a better run in Australia than Shami. Krishna and Mukesh are new and comparison with Thakur Saab is not good because Thakur was all rounder and can't bowl 30-35 overs in a match or long spell in 4-5 test match series.

You need a workhorse for this, very few bowlers are cut for such a workload. That's why Siraj gets a seat in the squad, Shami is also a workhorse and in the upcoming lot, the likes of Akasdeep and Mukesh fit the bill (Krishna is fragile)

Comparison with Jaddu, Ash and Sundar is not a fair argument because Spinners had no role in this series. Even Lyon didn't get to ball 50-60 overs in total by playing 5 test match series.

PS: We needed a Pujara badly and Shami ( outdue to injury) and also golden arm of Lord Thakur.

I think this is the reason why Pakistan is called an unpredictable team, in the first innings the entire team will be bowled out at 194 and in the second innings, no wicket has fallen for 194 runs. Pakistan has low chances but they way Pakistan team comeback in second inning is outstanding performance from the batters. Pakistan current score is 248 runs with loss of 2 wickets. Marco Jansen today picked the wicket of Khurram Shahzad at 17 runs. Pakistan still trail by 171 runs. Shan Maqsood playing very responsibly at 117 runs alongside with kamran ghulam. This partnership between Shan masood and kamran ghulam is very important for Pakistan if Pakistan want to give a lead to South Africa.

Absolutely true he was one man army show who really brutally punished entire Zimbabwen team, to be honest without him Afghanistan were really off colour and that why we have seen a ordinary batting partnership from Zimbabwen in his previous innings, anyway till Ervin on crease at day 4 end I taught he will easily done it for his team as still they have a decent wickets in hand, also required were too low but still Afghanistan mange to get them and defend such low target in such crucial moment and thus won a very vital match.
