I was not aware that he has retired from the ODI format, he will now focus on league cricket. Since T20 is a short format retired players can play without any issue. MSD is still playing league cricket after he retired from all formats of cricket. Yes, he is undoubtedly one of the best opening batters that Australia has produced the good thing was that he was part of the World Cup winning team. He might be replaced by Marcus Harris that is what is being said by the Australian media.

There are lots of T20 leagues going on around the world, I guess he will go for IPL only as other leagues are not paying much. To be honest I agree with @MusaPk. In the three tests that Pakistan has played in Australia, I think Warner got about 5-6 chances in the 6 innings that he played in these 3 tests. He scored so many runs after he got them second chances. He would have probably scored half the runs that he scored in this series than he did after getting all the chances. Shaheen Afridi and Jamal were getting the fielders the chances in the early stages of the match with the new ball and Warner would have gotten out early on so many occasions.

But despite all that he is still an Australian legend I think it will be hard for Australia to replace him.

The Pakistan players should improve their game,because the Australian had the capability to get back in the short period in the cricket game.Because we never forget the game of Australia woman players against India in the second T20 match,they had won the game with the one over left and win by 6 wickets.This was the unique come back after the same team had loss the first T20 by the 9 wickets.Warner was the good player in the various sections.He dominated the Pakistan team in this match by scoring the half of the runs in the complete series.Australian already had good record against the team Pakistan in all format.

David Warner is lucky enough in recent test, he was dropped so many times by Pakistani fielders. Warner is dangerous not only in front of Pakistani bowlers but he has the ability to destroy any bowling lineup. Warner has played 112 test matches with 44.5 runs average, there are not many players in test history who have such incredible test stats.

Not sure about Rahane but i believe Pujara's services are much needed in Australia. He's kryptonite to Aussies on their home turf.

I am not sure whether Cheteshwar Pujara will ever get selected to the Indian test team again. By the time of the next test series for India, he will be 36 years old and he last played for India 8 months back. Currently he is playing for Saurashtra in Indian domestic cricket, and today he scored an unbeaten 243 versus Jharkhand. And this was against a bowling attack that comprised of experienced players such as Shahbaz Nadeem and Anukul Roy. Ajinkya Rahane is also playing first class cricket for Mumbai, but he is in very poor form for the last few months.

IMO, you can keep Pujara aside in other tours but he excels in the Aussie conditions because of his grit and willingness to take as much as body blow. You need at least 1 guy with this mindset in your team and if I recollect my memories of last decade then only Pujara fits the bill. Elgar comes second best but they didn't tour as much as India.

I would've liked if the likes of Pujara and Rahane offered their services to weaker state boards and scored against big teams in the domestic.

Yeah, he is. But so far how Pujara reacted for not selecting in SA series it clearly means something is going on behind the scenes and they will just blame his last two-year poor performance as a reason to not select him. It's not particularly about Pujara alone but forming a whole set of batting unit for the test matches and India is capable of doing that than any other team but still they want to go with IPL stars with all kind of format in the international arena.

Having said that, i don't mind IPL stars featuring in Test cricket, given they have a good record in the Ranji. Sometimes talents get overlooked in domestic cricket and IPL fixes this problem as far as the limelight and fame go so it has its pros and cons.

Not surprised about the demerit points, to be honest. I saw that coming when the first day was played on that ground. No test match should end that early. That was a total bowler’s heaven. Although I enjoy these kinds of bowler dominant test matches, I think this match was over too quickly. But hats off to Markram for the way he batted in the 2nd innings and got that century.

Rohit is the captain of the Indian national team across all the formats, so age is irrelevant as far as he is concerned. Probably the selectors don't want a test squad where half of the guys are above 35. Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin all fall in this category. But I agree with you on his performance in Australia. He has performed exceptionally well in past tours. Not so sure about Rahane though. I haven't heard about him in a while. He played a few matches for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy, but couldn't make a lot of runs.

WI is a more pathetic team than Srilanka, they failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup. They are not that good in test cricket and are ranked below Srilanka in test ranking. They do not have batters with mentally strong enough to play long innings and they lack specialist bowlers for long formats. There was a time when they dominated both test and ODI and that time has long passed. Australia is the best team in the world in test cricket and the possibility of a whitewash cannot be denied in the upcoming series.

Not only South Africa but many other countries have produced such poor wickets to take home advantage and bowlers have dominated the results and all the wickets. Although the home team gets some advantage on such wickets, it is very difficult for the visiting team to bat on these wickets. South Africa built wickets like this to win the two Tests against India, but the wicket they built worked against them. India cruised to an easy win against South Africa only to produce a low-quality wicket in the middle which earned South Africa demerit points. ICC should be more strict on making such wickets so that no team makes such bad wickets.

You are right David Warner is definitely one of the best players in Australia David Warner performs brilliantly in every match. We saw David Warner perform brilliantly in the three Test series against Pakistan. Pakistan's batsmen helplessly batting disaster against Australia. If Pakistan doesn't focus on their batting then they might not be able to perform so well in the future. Pakistan team bowling is very good but batting is not so good compared to their bowling so they need to focus on batting. Pakistan played three Test matches In the three Test matches against Australia we saw Pakistan's batting disaster.
