Yeah, 2 nd day between New Zealand and Ireland test game Ireland started the second inning and has a huge trail. As we know with the end of day one New Zealand played well during the first innings and with the start of day two Tom Blundell was so impactful and he played the one of the most memorable knock of his test career and completed his one hundred and half century but unfortunately miss the double century with a very low margin and New Zealand declared the innings after eight wickets gone. Ireland started the first innings with great expectations but the top order and almost all batting order completely destroyed by Kiwis bowlers and only Andy McBrine stable the innings by playing a mature and classical knock and Ireland lost all wickets early on. I was not aware that it was a 4 day Test match. This explains why the odds were so high for the moneyline while the draw or win bets were really low. I had no clue the ICC had changed the rules and now has a provision to shorten the match to 4 days, if both cricketing boards agree.

It was a superb day for the New Zealand team because the things they have done were totally great. Firstly, they batted really well, almost reached 500, but I  think to declare on 490 or not cross 500, there is no difference between them because having 500 runs as a figure has a psychological advantage plus some record too, but nothing matters in the game. Anyway, NZ bowlers were on fire and the first innings has finished for Ireland on only 19 runs and follow-on was enforced. Hopefully, the test match will come to an end tomorrow.

Ireland has just proved everyone why there needs to be two or three divisions in test cricket. If they perform in such a pathetic manner against New Zealand, what will happen if they are allowed to play against India or Australia? On the other hand, the ICC is moving in the other direction. They have just abolished the second division in test cricket, and have added the three countries there (Ireland, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe) to the World Test Championship. This will mean more one-sided and meaningless matches and accelerated death of test cricket as a format.
