NZ scored 490 runs in first innings and its not possible for team like Ireland to score that much runs. Whats disappointing is that Ireland failed to score decent runs in both innings. Most of Irish batsmen were not able to make it to double figures in both innings. Irish main aim for this test  must be to give a decent, fight which will help them in improving there test cricket but they failed to do so. Tom Blundell was given man of the match award for scoring 186 runs in first innings. 

Tom Blundell was player of the match because he played for the team and he made 186 runs in this match which was an easy task for any team. Rachin Ravindra also made century in this match because he was not prominent player in this match. Nathan Smith effort was great in this match because he took 6 wickets in the first inning of the match and in the second inning he took 2 more wickets in this match. Tickner was a person who took 6 wickets in this match and he took 1wicket in the first inning of the match and in the second inning he took 5 wickets in this match and he gave his full effort for the team to win this match. Tom Blundell made a match and they won this match without any hurdle.

Test game between NZ and Ireland was completed in just three days and NZ win this game very easily. As we know at the end of day two Ireland started the 2nd innings and NZ very smartly skip the second innings because they make four hundred plus runs in first innings and after that there bowling was so lethal that they lay down the Ireland batters early on and scores just one fifty plus runs and has a huge trail of three hundred plus runs here the game changing decision taken by NZ team and they skip there second innings so Ireland started the second innings and if they played well first they compete the trail of three hundred plus runs then they gives target and if they lost all wickets before trail then NZ wins the game and in both cases NZ has benefits. It was a four day Test match, never thought there was four day matches at the International level, as I thought they were exclusive fixtures for county cricket.
The New Zealand tour of England is coming up, it will be an interesting contest. Although I expect England to win the series, they have included three uncapped players, and I am eager to see who gets to make the debut.

New Zealand have added Mitchell Santner to their Test squad to take on England after he recovered from a shoulder injury sustained while playing for Mumbai Indians at the IPL. Santner arrived in the UK on Saturday and will link up with the touring group ahead of the first Test, starting at Lord's on Thursday.

The outcome of this match was that New Zealand would victory it because they are a strong team and have good achievements in history so it was already know that Ireland would not be able to compete with them. Apart from this the target of the first innings had become true that Ireland would not be able to  victory this match because achieved the target of 490 in an innings and mak it tough for the opposing team is not part of Ireland strength. That is why they could not reach this target even after worked hard in both innings and they were defeated. If New Zealand had lost the match to this team it would have been a shame for them but they could not do that at all so they victory by demonstrated their strength and victory in it.

In an attempt to reduce the impact of bad light on Test matches, the ICC has approved a trial of switching from a red ball to a pink ball before the start of a Test that is likely to be affected by bad light, subject to the prior agreement of both participating teams.*

The decision was one of several recommendations from the Chief Executives Committee that were approved by the ICC Board at a meeting in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Until now pink balls were used exclusively in day-night Test matches, which are also regularly played largely in Australia and no where else, but the trial of changing from a red ball to a pink ball during a day Test seeks to allow play to continue under lights and minimise the time and overs lost to bad light.

It is understood that the process for the playing conditions to take effect won't be in place in time for the series between England and New Zealand from June 4. The ICC also said it would undertake research "on lighting technology for match officials and venues to reduce lost play due to poor light, with ICC co-funding R&D projects alongside Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC)."

Maybe one easy fix could be early start and use daylight properly with no unnecessary breaks like players wasting time, this also includes bowling side finishing their 14-15 overs quota in an hour and not taking 10 mins to finish a single over with constant field change.

I agree, pink ball also does not have a good impact under lights. ICC does not have enough for cricket; they are mostly doing things for their own interest instead of having any solid thing to sort out problems on the ground.

Lol, what's happening in the 1st Test match between ENG vs NZ!! The most interesting part is happening now, as New Zealand lost 3 wickets for just 2 runs within 2 overs??!!! a complete disaster. It seems Eng Bowler Ollie Robinson alone take control of the match, destroyed talented top order batman like Kane & Rachin Ravindra on Zero(Duck)!! Although England started batting first and they Got all out within 40 overs just for 140 runs only where Kyle & Smith got five & three wickets respectively. And then i thought, NZ Would score higher enough and maybe they would won by an innings and some runs but the reality totally unexpected. Right now NZ become so careful and their middle order must fight hard so that they can avoid a bigger collapse as well as can stay longer in the game. The match is turning into a fast-paced battle, and the Day 2 will be crucial for both sides.
