Did someone raised any questions to CA about why there was no one to represent bangladesh in comm box?

I get it, quality of comms in Bangladesh is questionable but still they could've invited atleast someone for formalities. Overall it gave a vibe of old times. Huge moment in Bangladesh cricket history and there was no bangladeshi to call the winning moment and put their perspective.

If they had Bangladeshi commentator in comm box, we would have likely got moment like Brian Lara's reaction couple years back for WI winning in AUS.

No fan of Athar and he sound irritating to me, same as sanju manju but still he should've been here for this moment. These kinds of moment deserve some representative.

I mean, Bangladesh accent itself sounds irritating so not a surprise if you find Athar's too.

Don't think they were complacent but in hindsight one could make a argument ( silly excuse for fun) that they played international test on non traditional venue. Never heard of this ground earlier, Marrara Cricket Ground, darwin.

I didn't hear of it either. I think they played there cause they weren't expecting the significant match attendence for the match-up, and there wasn't much... seats were empty. To see same on MCG, SCG would be a disgrace.


I watched India's both the days highlights today and well... the only thing that took my attention was, 'Intex' on SL's Jersey. I thought that company had died.

Bangladesh made history on Australian soil, becoming the fastest Asian team to register this first win (took 3 games), and the first asian team to beat them in their country other than India after 31 years.

It is a big day for Bangladesh cricket because beating Aussies in test at their home is not a small achievement. Bangladesh now lead the 2 match series 1-0 and who knows if Bangladesh won second test or able to draw that then that will be another historic moment to win a test series in Australia. The batting of Aussies in both inning was disappointing or we can say that Bangladesh bowlers did good job in both innings. The credit for this victory goes to Hasan Mahmud who picked 6 wickets in first innings, he is also given player of the match award.

History changes with time, especially the record that was made 31 years ago, Bangladesh broke that record exactly 31 years later. None of us believed that Bangladesh would defeat Australia because it was impossible for Bangladesh to defeat Australia. But Bangladesh made that impossible possible.
However, the second Test match will not be a draw because it is not possible for Bangladesh and Australia to spend five days. The first match ended in four days, maybe the second match will also end in four days or five days, but it will not end in a draw, but rather in a win-loss. However, since Bangladesh won the first match, I believe that Australia will win the last match and draw the series.

Expecting the Aussies to win the 2nd test and draw the series since I don't see them humiliating themselves any further. Looks like the golden era of Starc, Hazle and Cummins in all formats is finally coming to a close.

I think Austraila faces one of their worst defeats in history of test cricket as no one was expecting like that that austraila will lose from Bangladesh. All credit goes to Bangladesh bowlers not only bowlers i would say they play fearlessly and also wih a team work. Recent performances of Bangladesh is very good as they are playing with a good form. Watching this test match was something else to me. Didn't ever though that Bangladesh could have defeat the mighty Australia in this way . After bowling out Australia for 198 runs, the Bangladeshi batting lineup took over the charge and took a lead of 228 runs by scoring 426 runs. The most difficult part was to not allow mighty Australia to make a come back in second innings and its Bangladeshi bowling that once again played there part well. Bangladesh have given a dominating performance in all seasons of days, this was their third match so far on Australian soil and they have sealed the first match victory by defeating Australia nine wicket and lead the series with 1-0. If we talk about Pakistan, the last time Pakistan defeated Australia in Test cricket was in 1995, and after that, Pakistan has not been able to defeat Australia in 31 years.

You are absolutely right, I have not seen Bangladesh play well in a row, especially if they beat Australia in a Test match, then Bangladesh will perform poorly in the next ten matches. It is possible to assume from the past history of Bangladesh that if they play well in one match, they will perform poorly in the next few matches. That is, if they surprised the cricket fans by winning the first match against Australia, then Bangladesh should be prepared for defeat in the next match.

And he then hit a six! LOL!  . DSP Shiraz got only 11 runs. 460 is a good score; I feel they will try to get to 500 runs, but it looks impossible because the real tail are batting now. It is not going to be easy for the Sri Lankan batters to chase a big target that is currently being set by the Indian batters. I hope there isn't a delay today like it was yesterday due to rain.

Not turned off because of accent per se but quality of content and verbal diarrhea they produce when on comm.

Likes of him, sanju manju, kartik etc just don't know when to shut up. Listening to sanju Manju in sri vs ind match, jeez constant yapping throughout the over, have no decency to shut his mouth even when ball is bowled.

Yeah that might be a reason but with decent advertisement and promotion you do get alright crowd but for that you have to have respect for touring team and it's too much for CA.

You are absolutely right, I have not seen Bangladesh play well in a row, especially if they beat Australia in a Test match, then Bangladesh will perform poorly in the next ten matches. It is possible to assume from the past history of Bangladesh that if they play well in one match, they will perform poorly in the next few matches. That is, if they surprised the cricket fans by winning the first match against Australia, then Bangladesh should be prepared for defeat in the next match.

Bangladesh team achieved a great victory on Australian soil, it was definitely a surprise for football fans. However, Bangladesh team has created many such records in the past where they lost several consecutive matches after winning one match. Accordingly, the chances of Bangladesh team winning the second Test match against Australia are the least, but if Bangladesh team continuously improves their performance, their confidence can increase further. If Australia team does not improve the way they batted and bowled in the first Test match, then they should be prepared to lose the second match. Bangladesh team is in a very good form in comparison, we have already seen some good performances in a few matches against strong teams. It is really a pity for the team to advance in the series by defeating a strong team like Australia by a big margin. In the initial situation, I thought that Sri Lankan team would not be able to go up to 200 runs, but now they have managed to reach 240 runs, losing six wickets, and Sri Lankan batsmen Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella have played a big role in this. Their 146-run partnership basically saved the Sri Lankan batting line-up from being humiliated today.

Although Niroshan Dickwella is not on the pitch now he got out for 80 runs but currently Sonal Dinusha is on the pitch. There is no doubt that Sri Lankan team will not be able to take the lead from Indian team but yes they can reduce the run gap if they can still keep the wickets.

I saw it too but eh... I just can't get into all this leagues. These players should at least stick to their respective franchises like Klassen should be in his Sunrisers franchise (i.e. In Sunrisers Leeds) as he's in the IPL, and not in this Manchester Super Giants franchise — this kind of shuffling makes it extremely hard to get invested into players or franchises.

Its correct to say that this is one of biggest win in history of Bangladesh test cricket history. Aussies are shocked because they were not expecting a defeat from Bangladesh in test. Now it will be interesting to see how both countries will play second test. Aussies will defiantly give their best because they must have to win second game in order to draw the series. While Bangladesh will also try to take advantage of winning momentum they have after victory in first test.

India is playing very fine so far, they needs to continue the momentum in the second innins too, means I think maybe India will go for declare their innings after scoring 200 or at max 250 but I think they need to target 350 once again since at this stage I think Shubman Gill needs to belive on their bowlers that they are able to take all 10 wickets, but let's see what strategy will Shubman Gill follow.
