Really a great start to the game 288/2 at the end of day 1, and Devdutt Padikkal got his century as well on the first day itself.

Side by side, Bangladesh is cruising for a historic win against the Aussies on their home soil.

It was first day but india already looking favourite to me, saw little bit of highlights and ball seems to turning alright for spinners, few balls even turned batter squared up. Won't be an easy wicket to bat on 4th-5th day.

But is Bangladesh going to win this match! I have not been watching Bangladesh matches for quite some time because of their consistent poor performance. Bangladesh cricket team has disappointed me every time. But after coming to this thread, I saw the scorecard of the match between Bangladesh and Australia and I can see how far Bangladesh is really ahead in the match, especially in the first innings, Bangladesh was ahead in terms of runs scored by Bangladesh batsmen who batted well. In the meantime, Australia has lost four wickets, which has put Australia on the backfoot. There are still 2 days left in the game, if Bangladesh can restrict Australia to a low score, then Bangladesh has a very high chance of winning this match.

Bangladesh really in good position at the moment to win the game and they must not allow Australian batsmen to settle down. If Bangladesh can get Australia out at 350 runs then surely they will be favourite to win this game. In second innings, Australia batting is somewhat better then how they played in the first innings but they have already lost 4 wickets and with only 6 wickets in hand, it looks difficult that Australia will be able to set a match winning total. Tomorrow first two sessions will be crucial for both teams and team that dominate in these sessions will likely win the match.

The destruction of the Australian team is getting more attention from all the cricket fans. India is completely dominating there against Sri Lanka. Apart from the run out of Yashasvi Jaiswal, we haven't seen any interesting facts in that match yet. Most of the team would be happy if Australia loss this match against Bangladesh. Currently, Australia is dominating on the WTC point table.

If Bangladesh can get out these two players very quickly tomorrow then it will be very difficult for Australia to establish a lead. If Bangladesh bowlers can perform the way they performed in the first innings, that is possible. Even if they cannot win the match by an innings, the match is still under Bangladesh's control.

Good to see India steam rolling the Lankans on their home turf as expected and this is what happens when your bowling lineup doesn't have a single great bowler. None of the Lankan bowlers are worth talking about at all. 2-0 India is the predictable result here.

These are easy and valuable points for the Indians though they don't really have much of an option apart from winning most or all of their remaining games in their WTC cycle.

It was beyond our imagination that Bangladesh would perform so well against Australia and we did not expect that Bangladesh is on the way to winning the Test match with Australia. Now if Bangladesh can all out Australia very quickly then it will be very easy for Bangladesh to win. If these two batsmen Cameron Green and Alex Carey get out then the line will be completely clear for Bangladesh. However, Australia will fall significantly in the World Test Championship points table if they lose the Test match against Bangladesh. However, the fact that Australia's performance has become worse than before has come to the attention of cricket fans.

Devdutt Padikkal is performing well on day one. He scored a century and is still batting with confidence. I hope he achieves his first double century in Test cricket. I felt sorry to see KL Rahul retire hurt while nearing his century. India is already nearing 300 runs, and another 100 runs after that will be a big score on this pitch for Sri Lanka to chase, as the ball has started turning.

On the other game Australia survived the humiliation of an innings loss but Bangbros just need 53 runs more in their second innings to win this match.

I thought yesterday that since Cameron Green was on the pitch, if he could survive till the end, Australia could score 400 runs, although I also mentioned that even if the Australian team crosses 400 runs, it will be difficult for them to achieve victory. However, they started losing wickets one after the other quickly and were all out for just 284 runs.

Right now Bangladesh team need only 8 run to win and I think it can be covered in the next two overs. However, this is going to be a historic win for Bangladesh on Australian stadium.

There gone my lunch money, now I'll have to starve meself for few days to recoup for it. Glad for my boy Greeney though, looked really happy for making century (why he shouldn't he be? But still). Why didn't Cummins bowl a single over today? Looks like he didn't want to waste his energy on match already dusted.

Plus, on a relevant note, I have been watching The Grade Cricketer since 3 last days after stumps, and the duo is hilarious to say the least. If you are up for entertainment, tune 'em up on YT.

Bangladesh team has won 9 matches in the first Test match against Australia, Bangladesh team's batting and bowling performance was very good. Since they won the first match, Bangladesh team will definitely try hard to defeat Australia team in the next match and they will have a lot of confidence. If Australia team's batting and bowling performance does not improve their game in the next match like they did in this first Test match, then there is a high possibility of losing the second Test match. Since Australia team is quite strong compared to Bangladesh and they are a good team, then they will definitely improve their weak lines. I think the Test match between Australia and Bangladesh can be a tie more likely. Australia team could not maintain their consistency in the first match, in that case, Australia team will definitely play well against Bangladesh in the second match and it will be a lot of competition.

I get it, quality of comms in Bangladesh is questionable but still they could've invited atleast someone for formalities. Overall it gave a vibe of old times. Huge moment in Bangladesh cricket history and there was no bangladeshi to call the winning moment and put their perspective.

Expecting the Aussies to win the 2nd test and draw the series since I don't see them humiliating themselves any further. Looks like the golden era of Starc, Hazle and Cummins in all formats is finally coming to a close.

What are you expecting from them now? Starc is almost 36 years old with 108 test matches and 435 wickets Hazelwood is 35 years old with 77 test matches and 302 wickets and Pat Cummins is now also 33 years old with 73 matches and 316 wickets. They give their best now; it's time to look into the future and have new pace batteries, but their real concern is batting; they are having nothing extraordinary, and this makes things chaotic in the first test at Darwin.
Steven Smith and Cameron Green give decent jobs while Marnus Labuschagne has another failure, and others also have nothing to help their team.
The second test is also going to be interesting because Bangladesh has an edge, and they can end their series on a high note, especially with a win. This will give them a good place in test history for a long time.

No fan of Athar and he sound irritating to me, same as sanju manju but still he should've been here for this moment. These kinds of moment deserve some representative.

Don't think they were complacent but in hindsight one could make a argument ( silly excuse for fun) that they played international test on non traditional venue. Never heard of this ground earlier, Marrara Cricket Ground, darwin.

It is a big day for Bangladesh cricket because beating Aussies in test at their home is not a small achievement. Bangladesh now lead the 2 match series 1-0 and who knows if Bangladesh won second test or able to draw that then that will be another historic moment to win a test series in Australia. The batting of Aussies in both inning was disappointing or we can say that Bangladesh bowlers did good job in both innings. The credit for this victory goes to Hasan Mahmud who picked 6 wickets in first innings, he is also given player of the match award.
