Sri Lanka vs India, 1st ODI is already started. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat. They scored around 230-8 runs which is kind of okey to win the match against oppennt in ODI format, if they can bowl well and stopped top batsman for collecting more runs. Well i say that, their top ordered batsmen performance should be developed, almost everyone Scored low runs and lost their wickets earlier except Pathum Nissanka(56) who did half century. Besides i must admire Dunith Wellalage(67) who showed skillful performance by making half century and due to him, Sri Lanka able to make good score. I am not at all satisfied with the result of this match. I expected a better performance from this Indian squad. In the T20 series we have seen good bowling in the death overs. So today after Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for 101 I thought Sri Lanka's innings would stop before 170. But in the end Sri Lanka team collected 230 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. 230 runs was a big enough target on this pitch. Because according to the pitch statistics it was much more difficult to score 230+ in the second innings on this pitch and win.

So in many aspects the victory definitely goes to the Sri Lankan team, and the performance of the Sri Lankan team was the most interesting for the audience because of the unbelievable performance of the Sri Lankan team. I have rarely seen such a competitive match in the game of cricket, I was really shocked Charith Asalanka he bowled a truly magical performance. Because of this one innings, Sri Lanka could stay at the crease till 50 overs and set a target of 231 runs.

In the first 10 overs, India scored 71 runs without losing any wicket. After such a brilliant start, no one could have imagined that India would not win the match. Expected to see some better batting from Kuldeep and Washington Sundar.

Considering the pitch, the Sri Lankan team managed to provide a big target. It was difficult to bat well in the second innings on this pitch. So even though the Indian squad was strong, it was difficult for India to win by batting at a target of 231 runs. Even so, India's two openers got off to a good start. Rohit Sharma's innings in particular was very important. If the subsequent batsmen were able to maintain some consistency then it would not have been a difficult task for India to win this match.

BCCI would probably not have kept experienced players like Rohit and Kohli in the squad. But this is Sri Lanka's home series. It will not be easy for India to win against Sri Lanka at home in Sri Lanka. We got proof of this in the first match itself. This is why BCCI kept Kohli and Rohit in their squad.

If i recall correctly within six year in ODI cricket this one is the number 10th tie for India.

Well, I have to say another thing. both of the teams also had given 8  runs as extras. So neither of these teams actually had any kind of advantage from each other.  this was really unexpected because India was in a very good position to win the match. India started to lose wickets  very frequently.  if anything, Sri Lanka started really bad and somehow was able to reach 230  at the end. This should have been a very easy target for India. but congratulations to the Sri Lankan team for actually being able to make it so hard for India and eventually not letting India win. But in the end  Sri Lanka was able to not win but draw the match.

Actualy they are going to celebrate light this is a win for them. Now there is a genuine chance for Sri Lanka to actually draw the series as well. because this is a three match series.  Sri Lanka will have to win only one.
