What a decider between England and Australia ongoing at the moment. On one hand, it looks like Australia will cruise to a series win while it looks like England can pull things back in their favor through successive wickets on the other hand.

I bet on England since the odds were extremely favorable even though it looks like they will lose this match and series. Also, why Inglis instead of Carey? Weird!

Sorry for your loss but I don't think it wouldn't also right that blaming the rain only for the lost in this match because the way England recover in the third match the same way Australian team was having to recover this match after losing two matches. I said this because the way Australian batter are performing in this match if they can continue till to the 50over then their run could be around 400 if they batted first. So in today's match Australia make the performance that they will be able to beat even the target on 400. Anyway good enjoyable seires thank to both team players.

Australia are desperate to win today's match and Australia are trying to do as well as they need to do. At the end of 11 overs, they lost one wicket and collected 111 runs, which means that if we consider the overall statistics of the match, Australia is ahead in economic run rate so far. If Australia can maintain this run rate then there is a high chance of Australia winning today's match. But if England can make a miracle and fall consecutive wickets, then maybe something positive can come even for England.

The ‍spectators have different perspective in this match but that didn't happen. After the draw of the last T20 series, perhaps many thought that the 5-match series would definitely be enjoyable but that too was not possible due to rain. The Australian team gave a befitting reply as they lost the next two matches in a row and gave their best performance in today's match.  However, due to the DLS system, the Australian team managed to win, but if the whole match performance, the Australian team would have been more likely to lose. This was the weakest point of the Australian team as two of the attacking batsmen of the Australian team got out after collecting few runs.

My thoughts on this match were the other way around, I didn't think England would have won this match if it hadn't rained. It is true that England batted first and scored a good number of runs, but Australia scored very quickly from the start, which increased their chances of victory very quickly. Maybe it's the right revenge for Australia as they won the first two matches and then lost the next two matches. But this match was unfortunate for England as they were defeated by Duckworth lewis stern (DLS) method due to rain.

In the fifth match, England were not as strong in the bowling as they were in the batting which resulted in the Australia batsmen batting comfortably. Surprisingly though, it was true that England had no experienced fast bowlers in the fifth match, they benched Jofra Archer.

This is possible, but there is also the possibility that Australia would collapse midway thanks to some smart bowling by England due to which the match could have gone right down to the wire.

But as no one can cope with nature, no matter how good the match, there is nothing to do. In Australia and England series England could not save the end of the series at their own venue in England. Chasing 310 in 50 overs with 10 wickets in hand is a lot harder compared to chasing 117 in 20 overs with 10 wickets in hand.

DLS method is not new to cricket and teams know very well about it. The matches that are affected by rain are usually decided by the DLS method and both the teams playing know about it and they prepare the game accordingly. Yes, one team do get an advantage due to DLS while other team is at a disadvantage but we cannot say that the match results based on DLS are not fair. Also, not every match can have a reserve day and we should consider DLS as a part of cricket rules for deciding the games that do not get enough time to play the full 50 (for ODI) or 20 overs (for T20).

Yes Rain affected match but it is not only reason Australia lost. England came back strongly in third match and Australia could have done same. Yesterday Australia batting was great and exactly they could have scored around 400 runs if they had played full 50 overs. They showed they could catch up to big score.
Both teams played well in this exciting series. Australia never gave up and England kept fighting. Even with rain series showed excellent cricket skills and fans should praise players hard work.

Yes, You are right there is alot of improvement is needed in DLS method because its give more benefits to that is chasing the target. Australia won the series by winning the final match of series. I think it's bad luck for England because England scored a huge total 300 plus runs on board. Ben Duckett batting performance is amazing scored a well deserved century. If rain didn't stop play then England have enough chances to win match because a target of 300 plus runs is not easy for chasing any team. The Player of The Match is Travis Head for his all round batting and bowling performance. in bowling he picked 4 important wickets by just giving 28 runs while in batting Travis head scored 31 runs.

Anyone here in this thread who watched final match of Champions One-Day Cup competition which was finished yesterday among Markhors squad against Panthers squad.

If we see the stats of Markhors squad, this squad displayed strong performance in previous matches and defeated every single squad and maintained their first position on standing table. Markhors squad has begun this final match first with Batting Inning and their batters quickly lost their wickets without disturbing the bowlers of panthers squad and biggest loss of Markhors squad in final match is that Muhammad Rizwan did not participate and didn't play this final match without his great Captaincy yesterday Markhor squad faced very bad defeat with low quality scores in first inning. From Markhors squad side no one was able to play long innings except Fakhar Zaman he expressed some support by managing 46 scores. 126 scores was so simple to achieve and Panthers squad simply achieved it with no burden of any high scores and no burden of balls and wickets. With loss of 5 wickets and playing 18 overs all scores of Markhors squad were achieved and Panthers squad emerged victory.

England set quite competitive runs 309 to Australia team and due to DLS method, Australia team chased the runs and won game by 49 runs. Short batted great in opening and he made great half century for Australia team and helped a lot to win this game. His century was wasted from England side B.Duckett and he made 107 runs in 91 balls and hitted thirteen 4s and two 6s. Congratulations Australia for playing intense series and at last you deserve win by showing brilliant effort in entire series.

Final match between Markhors and Panthers was big surprise. Markhors who played well until then struggled under pressure. Without their captain Muhammad Rizwan their batting did not go well. They lost wickets fast. Fakhar Zaman scored 46 runs but that was not enough. Panthers easily beat Markhors low score of 126 runs winning with 5 wickets left and 18 overs remaining.
Markhors relied too heavily on Rizwan leadership. Without him, they were weak. Panthers took advantage and showed their strength.

Despite the series win, a lot of questions will be asked to the team and also to the selectors.

We are having worst end of entertaining series between two quality teams which started with the dominance of Australia as they won two early games and having good lead, but we have good fight back by England with Harry Brook and Ben Duckett done impressive job in batting Mathew Potts and Brydon Carse have good skills in bowling which helps England for having share the honour.

In last and fifth game of the series, we are having good fight which ended in Australian won on DLS, but this was balanced game through England put 309 runs, but Australian response was also impressive their top order done amazing job which helps them for having things back into control for the win Travis Head is doing good with bat and now ball which is helping his team for giving their best, but we have good personal performances from the English team as well which helps them for having good and positive end of the series.
