Which do you think is better, buy at tokensale or buy at public exchange?

I don't invest to ICO and will never be on IEOs but with what I've read from experiences. If the project is worth it to invest, do it. But at the first launching or when the trades are allowed, you'll see the flow on sell orders like everyone is wanting to dump that token so it's going to be hard for you if you are looking for an assurance to make profit. Though some projects exceeded to the expected price after the launching and everyone made profit on it. Before investing, research first.

Neither, very few people are investing in icos or ieos so if you want to avoid losing money just invest in projects with a good reputation and that have been in the market for a long time, however if you really want to invest in new projects my advice is that you wait until the coin is freely traded in several exchanges, this has several advantages, the first is that you get a realistic idea of what the price of the coin is at the moment, since most icos overvalue their coins and crash after they hit the market, and second you can avoid the mandatory KYC which is not a small thing considering the huge amount of scammers releasing their shitcoins.

For me it is better to buy at an exchange rather than  their token sale.
I mean back im 2017 surely it is profitable to get it on their sale because of their bonus and back then most of the time the token or crypto would reach or even surpass their ICO price but now most of them wouldn't even reach half of their offering price.

In my own opinion, if the project is pretty good, it is better to buy at tokensale because there would be discounts and freebies. But the sad part of it if the token is being listed and drops continuously there would be no profit left, but its good to buy at tokensale in the fact that you may have good features by the project. Buying at the time of public exchange is also a good form of investment, you are sure to get profit when price pumps, but you miss good freebies and discounts when public sale is.

Buying at token sale gives us more options then simply buying from the public exchanges, even if it might be more expensive than the listed coin in the exchange.

Buying at token sale or after listing on exchange are all good means to attain the coin. The decision to choose one over the other is determine by the results from the research an investor makes. Sometimes a coin gets listed with price higher than its token sale price hence it investors during the sales made a good decision to buy. This can be achieved by studying and knowing the potentials and capabilities of the project.

With the current tokensale model, buying during the tokensale and busying in an exchange are one and the same thing because tokensale seems to be held in exchanges these days.. your question depends on the individual project though, these days good projects seem to do well when they hit exchanges.

Since IEO is trending now, I think it's best buying via IEO as it is cheaper and if done in a good exchange will give a very handsome reward. Nevertheless, there are still projects which are very trustworthy that when listed won't dump rather grow, so if you come across such projects you can get in but if you didn't you can study the trade to when to get in when listed.

For me, it will be safer to buying coin/token in trusted exchange than in token sale.
Unless you know the project of the token is real, buying their token in sale period is quite risky.

to invest in ico, you need to understand the projects yourself, and not rely on the advice of others. It is more profitable to enter the ico, but the risks are too high. if you are confident in the project and it already has a working product, then it is better to buy it on the ico of course.

In the current environment, I prefer to buy coins immediately after they are listed. Of course, it would be nice to get good bonuses, but the situation is that a lot of projects are ultimately fraudulent. Therefore, you can easily lose everything.

Of course, there are scam projects out there yet joining the token sale can be much beneficial as it comes with bonuses. In my opinion, instead of buying altcoin in tokensale, it is safer to invest in coins that have been registered with coinmarketcaps, especially those in the top 100 or traded in large exchangers. ICO is more inclined to speculation and also needs deep research on the projects we will invest

If only you could have access to IEO purchase, then I think that's the best time to buy because after listing, the jungle run begins...you could be "eaten" within seconds and it's dangerous to trade if you're a novice in it.

I personally prefer to buy altcoin when it is already in exchange.
I chose to buy at the exchange because every altcoin that has been exchanged is definitely of value, and we don't wait too long if buying tokens when ICO / IEO is listed on the exchange.

I think you can buy the token when it listed on the exchange so you can buy at a low price. I don't suggest to buy in the ico/ieo/tokensale because you don't know if their progress can run as what they want. Besides that, when the token or coin is getting a list on the exchange, you don't have to use big money to buy those token or coin because the price will get down below than the price on the ico.

Some of the coins in the ICO staged are having a hard time getting listed to a more popular exchange, so I prefer buying coins when it hit the market, provided that they are listed on a more popular and reputable exchange, like Binance, Kucoin and Bittrex, coins listed on these exchange get the most volume, compared when listed to small exchange.

I think you can buy coins at a tokensale, if the token is offered by a reputed organization. We know that many ICO's are scams from which we cannot get any benefit. I feel it is better to buy a coin at reputed exchanges like Binance, Coinswitch etc. It is up to you which one do you choose. If you think you will lose money when getting from crowdsale, you have two choices : either find a project that you will not lose in crowdsale or get the coin from exchange that you think it will lose value after listing.

it depends, but I think buying on the exchange can have bad consequences if one buys while buying tokensale can bring a profit, but for this kaskus I don't dare to give advice, but from what I see now this trend brings a little danger because it traps some launchpad offer a quite expensive price at the time of sale after the sale is finished and tokens go to their exchange the price falls dramatically, and because of this you have to do heavy research if you don't want to lose.
