This is not the case with Joshua as he seemed reluctant to continue fighting in the last rounds after the first knockdown by Ruiz (who visibly showed balls after being almost downed himself), and lost more psychologically than physically to his opponent, the meaning being that it may be very difficult for him to recover, psychologically
The reason for Anthony Joshua to quit in the seventh round is simply because he never expected his management team to select a fighter who was much faster than he expected in his US debut , he was filling the stadiums in O2 arena fighting easy opponents and he took the risk of taking Andy Ruiz as a replacement for his US debut and the rematch is scheduled to happen in Saudi Arabia which is weird, i expect Joshua to be better prepared in his rematch and if he looses this one the hype train is derailed for good.

I think Joshua will re-focus & train harder to ensure he outclasses Ruiz to win his belts back. The first fight was a big shock & I think maybe Joshua got complacent & didn’t prepare properly. Lots of great champions suffer a set back but it’s how they respond that makes them great champions. I expect AJ to destroy Ruiz in the rematch. That fat bastard will be seeing starts & eating canvas Wink

Everyone is thinking it's gonna happen but we can't ensure it will.

Ruiz beat Joshua once and I think Ruiz will be confident in this fight, he has enjoyed to reign as champion after the fight and he will also do everything to win in this re match. We are just here doing our own prediction but Joshua being favorite in the fight clearly earn a lot of fans than Ruiz, plus his shape though doesn't is not a figure of a real champion, LOL.

AJ then needs to conquer his demon now. Well a mandatory vacation or fight should be the right way, but I guess he really knows that his lost was something to do with him under estimating the "mexican butter bean".
If you are fighting as a champion even if you are picking and choosing your opponents there is no point in making excuses that he was not prepared as one punch could literally change the fight in the heavy weight division and everyone knows to throw a punch, he was defeated because Andy Ruiz was much technically sound and faster than Anthony Joshua expected and i hope he will be better prepared next time.

It's normal to make excuses, even the best of them have a lot of excuses when they lost. Most boxers have the balls to accept their defeat, but majority will make every excuses in the book just like AJ.

I think Joshua will re-focus & train harder to ensure he outclasses Ruiz to win his belts back. The first fight was a big shock & I think maybe Joshua got complacent & didn’t prepare properly. AJ was originally scheduled to fight Jarrell Miller, so he prepared for this guy, unfortunately, Miller was busted for failed drugs test. So perhaps AJ was really complacent that time and thinks that Andy Ruiz was an easy fight for him. So he did learn his lessons that night and he will comeback strong in this rematch for sure.

LOL, did he call Ruiz a little fat guy?  That guy has no respect to the Champion and just trying to promote his fight against Wilder.

Who do you think will generate more sales between the 2 fights?

I think this is the reason why Joshua lost the first as he did not train properly and he got over confident that he could beat Ruiz as he was only a late substitute for Jarrel Miller. This time around, i know that he will do whatever it takes to reclaim the belt and face Tyson or Wilder next.

Looks like the arabs are really stepping up their game when it comes to combat sports, however they don't have the largest venues out there so the ticket price will likely be sky high. Still I don't doubt that the arena won't be absolutely packed out for both fights.

I think that if Joshua works on his fight plan, and actually manages to keep Ruiz on the outside with the double jab, then he could quite easily win this fight. However, if he starts trying to get into swing ups with arguably the best counter-puncher in the division, then he's going to get smashed once again. You can't get into a bang out with a guy like Ruiz who is much shorter, faster and more accurate than yourself.

That said, it's going to be a close fight and I really can't place a bet on who I think will win. Given that Anthony got absolutely demolished the first time, I am edging towards Ruiz though.

Joshua will try not to get close this time. He will be dancing around the ring once again and try to use his reach advantage while Ruiz will be patient and pick his shots. I don't think Joshua can sustain the dancing for 12 rounds so Dad Bod for the win!
Most of the important things we should know about this fight is that, Joshua will not stand the chance if Andy win him on this return match, basically if Andy win, he will be heading for resignation from the works of boxing. So, with this facts on ground for Joshua, he wouldn't take the chance for Andy to win this match.

So you think if Anthony Joshua loses again, he'll retire from boxing? The same guy that beat Wladimir Klitschko will retire after being bested by one man?

Don't be ridiculous. AJ will still be in the top 5, and will continue fighting his way back up. He might not be number 1, but that's no reason to quit.

It was just confirmed that the fight is going on December 7th in Saudi Arabia. Tons of huge fights comming on there. Khabib's next fight is in Abu Dabbi. Big moves in the fight game by the middle east...

Quote

Matchroom Sport has officially confirmed that the anticipated rematch between Andy Ruiz and Anthony Joshua will take place on December 7th in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Eddie Hearn of Matchroom will hold a press conference this coming Monday in London, to discuss the details of the event.

The card is being called "Clash on The Dunes."

snip

Who are you going with? I see Joshua actually showing up with some balls and focus that night and getting the job done to redeem himself, which will make the Wilder vs Joshua/Tyson vs Joshua fight relevant again.

As much as I want Andy to win again because he is such a likeable guy and a hardworker, I don't really see it. I mean if Ruiz knocks the fuck out Joshua's chin again then it's pretty much over, he should retire. I think he is aware of this fact and he isn't going to let this happen twice. I give Joshua an 8th round KO. But this is an extremely risky bet. Honeslty im not even sure if I want to get involved in this one. Ruiz can really pull it again. I want to see the odds before I make a decision.
I am really excited about this fight the win of Andy Ruiz cannot be disputed, he won that fight clearly but Joshua was not at 100%, I want to see them both going all out and see a great fight, however after this match I want to see a unification fight regardless of who wins, also I find really interesting they choose a neutral country to have the fight, at first it seemed like both fighters wanted to have a home advantage by trying to bring the fight to the US or the UK but it seem like they had to compromise in order to make the fight as soon as possible.

This is a match that difficult to predict, but  AJ (1/3) is still more favorable to win this match than Ruiz (9/4). If AJ can prepare and train properly (not like in the previous fight), I think he will win.
Thats true, its difficult to know if who will be win on the rematch, because they want both to win and they also make hard more practice on their training. We can see now that Joshua has a big chance for the rematch to win than to Ruiz.
BIg guys fighting back again and I'm betting for Ruiz. Ruiz did an exemplary fight before and what he did to Joshua will it something to happen again. Both want to win, and what they'll show in their training is a little bit different on the actual fight.

Yes I believe he did which is lacking respect for the Champ  Grin
Both of these fights will generate large profits for all involved but I think there is more money in Saudi Arabia for AJ & AR to share
unless Fury & wilder can fight somewhere for such a large pot

Last night I watched the highlights of the Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua 1 and I noticed that after Anthony Joshua was knocked down for the first time, he looks like he calculated all his moves. Because of the height of Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz needs to reach out to hit the head of Anthony Joshua but his hands are fast for his size. If Anthony Joshua will not change his style on the second fight, results will be the same like their first meeting.

Why Saudi Arabia? Is Anthony Joshua scared to fight Andy Ruiz again in America? I reckon the Staples Center in Los Angeles would be the best place for the rematch. It has plenty of Mexicans heheheheeh.

It's the promoter who dictate where the fight is held and when both fighters agree, things happened and it's a done deal.
Why not Saudi Arabia? Boxing is not only for Americans and Mexicans, there's a lot of fan based all over the whole, and this fight being held in Saudi Arabia is good in promoting Boxing globally.

Tyson Fury Clowns Anthony Joshua For Andy Ruiz Loss
Courtesy: TMZ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHfVKCyMbjM

He really is trying to get under his skin if they were to fight again!

LOL, did he call Ruiz a little fat guy?  That guy has no respect to the Champion and just trying to promote his fight against Wilder.

Who do you think will generate more sales between the 2 fights?
Yes I believe he did which is lacking respect for the Champ  Grin
Both of these fights will generate large profits for all involved but I think there is more money in Saudi Arabia for AJ & AR to share
unless Fury & wilder can fight somewhere for such a large pot
You shouldn't expect him to respect the Ruiz this every moment since they have set the rematch and both sides are to expected to make trash statement about each other in other to generate buzz in the mind of their fans which could also put more money inside their own pocket either.

This is a match that difficult to predict, but  AJ (1/3) is still more favorable to win this match than Ruiz (9/4). If AJ can prepare and train properly (not like in the previous fight), I think he will win.
I supported your prediction because Ruiz first win was just a fluke.

He is a champion and it was his first fight in the United Stakes
Which bounty? lol

OK, I'm currently unemployed right now, but your comment is just too good to be ignored. IMO, AJ wasn't fighting with his full ability and looking down to Ruiz. That's why he smiled at the end. He realized his mistakes.
This post should be put up on this board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4564216.860 lol.

Back to topic, being too overconfident will really just put you into trouble. You would only realize those mistakes after you had beaten.  Cheesy
That was an excuse, Joshua has to accept that he loss against Ruiz and should be thankful that Ruiz is a good guy to give him a rematch so he can beat him twice and Joshua would feel that it wasn't luck that made Ruiz won the fight. LOL... I hope that's not gonna happen.

Ruiz is confident too, actually both players are confident but one wrong move could result to a big loss, what Joshua needs to do which I think he already realize is to be more careful in this re match and play smart from the start til the end.
If he would beat up Joshua on 2nd time around then its clear that the first win isnt just a fluke nor being too lucky.Im not sure if there would be a 2nd beat up and i do see AJ will really be careful on their rematch yet he's been too careless on their 1st match. The question is, on where the odds would favor during this fight?
Time to bet for AJ this time.
Ruiz will definitely not beat Anthony because he has learned from the previous fight and I believed he understands perfectly well what he ought to do in the rematch. Besides, look at the below picture of Anthony and you'll understand his reaction about the first fight.

Well anything do happens yet we wont know on what would Ruiz have plans in mind either he would train too hard and wont give out the same moves again against AJ.Looking on the image you do see on his face that he cant believed on what happened.Didnt expect for Ruiz to open or decide to accept the rematch.
I know perfectly well that Ruiz will also be prepared for the rematch but Anthony to Ruiz was due to the act ignorance of his capacity which make him underrated Ruiz as an easy to win opponent and he was shocking seeing himself knockdown.

Looking on the image you do see on his face that he cant believed on what happened.Didnt expect for Ruiz to open or decide to accept the rematch.
I agreed with what you said because the image expression says "What the heck? This cant be happening" this is why he wants a quick rematch to pleases his fans.

I think that Joshua would fight hard to redeem himself back again. The African wouldn't not give up easily. He has the strength and resilient to go all out.
That's expected because the first fight was an upset, he was the favorite and this time he will surely still be the favorite.
Can't wait to see the odds of the fight, but I think at this early it's still not available yet, but if you guys see some bookies offering an early odds for this fight, please share in this thread, I'll check it out.

I bet Ruiz will still win this match and I see him as a heavier hitter than Joshua. I think Joshua should avoid being hit by Ruiz but I doubt he can do that since they are both slow. They would all come down to power and stamina when the match drag down the wire.
