Nothing has ended for Real Madrid to make it to the La Liga title indeed. However they will need to make an insane effort to have a chance for it from now on. Because the point gap with Barcelona has reached 8 points as you know. This is a quite big gap to catch up with a very consistent Barcelona. Real Madrid's main issue has been in matches against weaker teams. They made simple point losses and this helped Barcelona very much to get away more from them in the standings.

It is obvious that it will be really difficult to stop Barcelona for the rest of the teams. Of course they would stumble in some matches and those will be the opportunities for Real Madrid. Hence Real Madrid need to maintain a lasting win streak just as Barcelona. They can start it with the Elche match.

Sevilla are really impressing me now with their performance. They are having a quite one-sided game against Mallorca and this has helped them get 2-0 ahead already as well.

This is really the version of Sevilla we would like to see. This is their only way out about not relegating from the La Liga. Mallorca beat Real Madrid maybe but their hands are tied against an effective football by Sevilla now. I hope to see this performance accelerate Sevilla's rise in the standings. But they need to be consistent for at least a couple of weeks first.

I think they are getting their spirit back, they have really been poor recently, wining today game will make them have more confident, they really played well. I just hope they keep their form. They still have a long way to go, so if they can only continue like this, then I think they can be in the European League come next season. They really started the season very poor, if not they could have been in the top four in the Spanish LaLiga. I really like the spirit they are showing. But I just believe that they will continue like this for some couples of games.

Real Madrid should be comfortable against Elche at least. I'm aware that they have had weaknesses against smaller teams recently. But this can't go on like this very often for a team like Real Madrid. If they really want the La Liga title they will need to do much more than this. Otherwise it is too difficult for them to keep up with a consistent Barcelona.
Maybe Elche beat Villarreal but I don't think this means so much. It is all about having a proper game plan.

We can see Elche's statistics this season, they are the worst team in Laliga with a record of one win and six draws in the 20 matches played.

Now they've managed to claim to 12th on the table which is really impressive considering how far they've come. It was a good win. Sacking Julen Lopetegui is a nice decision and it has brought development to the team. But I don't think he was the root cause of Sevilla's poor performance.
If you really check well there is nothing new in the squad ever since the Arrival of Jorge Sampaolli. I quest there was an internal difference cuz now , the same players that were giving poor results are playing so well.

It's so bad and unfortunate that Valencia failed to hold the Athletic club to a draw match after holding them in a 1:1 draw match in the first match. They could have stayed above the relegation zone with a point if they had drawn, which would have been considerably better for them (21points).

It was the goal from Bryan Gill, who is on loan from Tottenham FC that sealed the victory for Sevilla today. Their performance has quite improved I must agree, but if they want to go up on the table, the new manager, Sampaolli would have to start making plans for new signings or on loan players with great potential to add power to the team.

Real Madrid had a wonderful performance today winning their match,I can see that the players have picked form due to their excellent victory today. If the team continues in this performance then I think they are capable to win their league but I don't think Barca will gibe them the opportunity because Xavi's focus is on winning the league. I am curious whether Sevilla will be the old Sevilla in the Europa League. Their performances in that competition were almost always excellent, but now they seem to be a bit out of shape. The game against Eindhoven won't be an easy one as Eindhoven is just getting back in shape. The strongest part in the squad used to be the defense for Sevilla. They are doing ok right now, but it's not as it used to be in the past. Who knows, maybe they'll just be on point for the Europa League.

sevilla continues to provide good games and that is evident from the last 5 matches they have played, 3 are wins and 2 defeats. even mallorca didn't manage to make a single threat to sevilla's goal, I admit that in that match sevilla's defense was very solid. in another match, cadiz also managed to win and get out of the relegation zone for a while, hopefully cadiz can continue to get positive results and get further away from the relegation zone.

Valencia team unable to get any points again despite playing home today and scoring early in the game, true they faced a tough opponent such as bilbao but they are in the relegation zone so the players should do better than this especially when they are playing for such a big club, its such a shame to see valencia in such a tough situation.
