Luck sometimes takes its toll on Barcelona, as they missed easy shots that could have easily gone into the opposing team's goal. You will notice that this goal was scored from a penalty, Barcelona had 14 attacks in the whole match and Rayo Vallecano had 9.
However, although both teams attacked enough, Barcelona finally managed to score through a penalty, so Barcelona definitely had to rely on luck to get three points in this match. That's why I say Barcelona has moved from third place to first place, which is very risky for Barcelona at the moment because Rayo Vallecano is comparatively weak.

Luck aggressive approach and competitiveness always helps teams to shine at the top same happen with Barcelona in this challenging game because they were playing against one of the toughest teams at the top which is having one of the best defense in La Liga.

Barcelona attack is having amazing rhythm and depth as they score 14 goals in last five games Rayo Vallecano is not having anything positive as they score total 27 goals in 24 games, so difference is wide open which helps them keep going and stay at top in this game Rayo Vallecano defense was surely at his best because they never allow Barcelona to score any goal. Before the start of this match, everyone had only one hope that Barcelona would maybe able to score a lot of goals against Rayo Vallecano. Now, they grinded out the win, which is what championship teams do. Still, this was the same Barcelona that barely a few months ago was seven points behind Real Madrid and looking utterly hopeless. Flick made adjustments, stopped with his "Excel changes", and began actively coaching on demand. That explains much of their return in the title race

But yeah, winning La Liga playing like this? Not happening. Madrid will punish this sort of inconsistency. They are not staying on top for very long if they do not start turning their dominance into real goals

Real Sociedad's performance this season has really dropped and is quite bad. In 5 matches, they even lost 4 times and only won 1 time, and the rest, too, were not that optimal. Even this time, they were slaughtered by Real Betis very embarrassingly, Not only that, 2 of their players got red cards and this made Real Betis even more optimal in winning the match, 3 - 0.

And again, Antony became a player who contributed very well to the club.

It seems Anthony wasn't capable of handling the pressure at Manchester United. Anthony was inconsistent and failed to justify his hefty transfer fee after joining Manchester United from Ajax. While he showed glimpse of skill, his overall impact was underwhelming with limited goals contribution and inconsistent performance. I’m happy he was loaned out and he’s able to get back his confidence and form.

I have just used the pool at the top of this thread now. I voted that Barcelona will be the champions of the la Liga this season. I had always maintained that if Real Madrid eventually allows Barcelona to overtake them, it will be a huge problem for them to win the league. Irrespective that both teams are in the same point right now and Barcelona is ahead because of goal difference, I believe that Barcelona is more stable to win the la liga than Real Madrid.

The method Barcelona used to close the big gap that was given them by Real Madrid is what I do not understand. Maybe Real Madrid should just concentrate on the champions league instead for this season.

They already made a statement about how they are considering switching leagues, to either Serie A, or even Premier league if they are accepted, they are in early talks but they are looking for a way to be accepted into those leagues instead.

What happened in officiating is subjective to everyone and I don't think everyone can be on the same page when it comes to conclusion of a game. To me, Barcelona doesn't look well representing like I actually thought, I was scared how they will come and win anything that comes there way but it turn out that they aren't that strong like they show in other matches or perhaps I should say they play when they want to and not when they are told to do it.

Barcelona is now at the top of the table and they look normal but I'm yet to give up on Real Madrid journey because they still look solid, this is just initial gra gra they want to test, they want to test the place of the league and then come back to where they belong, the only team in rooting for if worse should happen, we will see Atletico Madrid st the top of the table but we will not see Barcelona stay there for long, they will test it but they wouldn't win it.

I think Antony was under a lot of pressure when he played for Manchester United, but he will feel less pressure in the Real Betis jersey. He reminds me a little of Greenwood. Greenwood found himself after going to another league. Maybe we can see something similar with the Brazilian player.

Who would believe that Wojciech Szczęsny was playing golf as a retired footballer six months ago before Barcelona came calling for his services. The former Poland international's statistics for Barcelona since he joined the club have been absolutely impressive for a goalkeeper who had already called it a day in his football career. One thing about goalkeepers is that, they are like fine whine, they get better with each passing day, age is always not a determinant for them, as they age with lots of experience, I remember even when Manchester united went to call back Edwin van der Sar from Retirement, and he came and was performing excellently for the united team, so I'm not too surprised with what Szczesny is doing at Barca.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the referees in La Liga these days, but they rub Real Madrid against Osasuna, causing Madrid to draw and giving Barcelona more chances to win the championship. Rayo Vallecano tried their best in the game; it's only that they didn't get many chances, and when they did, they disallowed the goal, stating it was offside, which I don't believe it was. but all is home advantage that make Barcelona win the match, they need to really speak to them and stop injustice in the pitch, and am hearing that the referee that blow against madrid vs Osasuna will be suspected because of the incident that occurred in the match.

I think after Barcelona was thrown into the top 4 in several previous matches, of course we think that they are not too ready to compete for the championship title. However, over time, Raphael, Yamal and Lewandowski were able to improve the quality of their performance by appearing consistently which made them return to the top of the standings.

A pretty good performance considering that Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid had been sitting quietly with a few points ahead of Barcelona but now Barcelona's position is above their ranking. Real Madrid unstable performance can be utilized by Barcelona in the previous week because the victory when facing Rayo made Barcelona rise to the top of the standings. Barcelona players are increasingly confident, especially since there are many young players in the team, of course their ambition to become champions this season.

They were playing well this season, now maybe they could mention that Espanyol player Romero was not shown a red card for a foul, and he was able to score in that match and Real Madrid lost. But why did they draw the other two matches? If La Liga really want to lose them intentionally then why would they draw they would loss on those matches. Anyway, I have already said in the past that Barcelona could take lead on the point table rank again and that makes true now.

I don't want to swing to any of the sides but let's admit that referees in football are the worst part of the game. They couldn't be compared to any other game whether it was handball, basketball or even tennis. VAR was implemented to avoid such mistakes that ruined many games, I even remember an African referee stopping the game in 85th minutes thought.
Now when it comes to Real Madrid, they have many objections and showed multiple faults that wasn't counted in their favour which cost them some games according to what they said. Obviously this will not change anything and will make the players and staff raging in every occasion and distract them from winning the game..

I just hope that Barcelona can take advantage of this comeback to the top of the league table after the narrow win they got against Rayo Vallecano yesterday because if they can't stay in the top for long and allow Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid to top the league, they won't be able to have this privilege again till the season ends so this is the time that they need to work together more as a team to achieve good results in their future games in the la Liga. The top of the table has been rotated by the three teams which are; Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid so anything can still happen among the top three teams but Barcelona should not create that avenue for Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid to top the table again that is why they should work very hard and never lose any game till the season ends.

Real Madrid have no chances this season and it was not a matter of overtaking them in the La Liga table for the season, but the performance of each club right from the very start of this season, I think Real Madrid already had their best day in this season when they were faced with smaller clubs, but at the moment, the season have gone far are most clubs are now playing to win at all cost, but unfortunately for Real Madrid their have had some bad days in their match that have pushed them fo
far down in points, it will be very hard for Real Madrid to be able to beat Barcelona to it this season, so let's focus on other possibilities from clubs like Athelitco Madrid to be able to push up the league table over Real Madrid to compete for the trophy against Barcelona for this final stage.

Referees in Spain for some weeks now has been getting back lashes because they failed to be professionals. It's starting to look like an agenda from the Spanish Fa and La Liga itself against Real Madrid. In the Real Madrid Vs Osasuna game, we could see few wrong calls made by the ref against Real Madrid. In the game between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano on Monday, we saw how the ref awarded a penalty to Barcelona, yes of cause that was a penalty no doubt, few minutes before half time, the ref disallowed a legit goal for Rayo Vallecano as if that wasn't enough, the ref still turned a blind and didn't award Rayo Vallecano a penalty for the same offense at which he awarded a penalty for Barcelona. Maybe La Liga just wants Barcelona to win the league by all means.

Realmadrid are so funny wherever they lose points and it affects their  position on the league table.. So when they were winning they didn't mention it that " we are winning and referees seem to be cooperating" , the problem started again when they losed points.
Besides,  what do they expect with those numbers of injuries.. and fairly they aren't  losing that much,  most of these  games are draw yet there are complaints, for what?? Funniest thing is that it  only pains when Barcelona gets to the top   especially now when the squad is full of Kids.

I see Barcelona as a team with too many ups and downs. That's why I believed that the match between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano would favor the latter. I expected at least a draw.
