After securing the Champions League ticket Girona started to play more complacently which is normal. First a draw against Alaves and now a loss at home. Probably Barcelona will finish the season at the second position from now on. They continue to win after that Girona loss. Xavi wants to finish at the best position they can at least.

Maybe not mathematically but Atletico Madrid are also going to the Champions League obviously. Athletic Bilbao started to mess up earlier and that Atletico Madrid loss just ended their hopes. Still it is a great season for them with a Copa del Rey title.

Xavi Hernandez has too much to do next season if he wants to win the La Liga Competition, I don't want to add further comments about him but I'm anticipating to see his signatures for the new season.

For the game between Cadiz and Sevilla, Cadiz should have been two goals ahead frommtye first half because they have been the more direct side who wants the win tonight.

You are right they have already secure their position to the champions League so it may not really matter if they end up on the second or third position but however what matters to them now is how to be more consistent in other to maintain their current position and stay above Atletico Madrid, so you are right what Girona needs now is to continue  wining their remaining matches because that's the only way they can prevent Atletico Madrid from taking over their position.

However they are very lucky they have a high point if not it would have seriously affected them losing their match against Villarreal, however concerning their match against Villarreal I think Villarreal was very lucky because if Girona had more time after Villarreal had the red card they would have eventually equalize the match but it was fortunate for Villarreal that they got few minutes to the end of the match before the red card came in.

Girona really needs an even squad depth to face a more competitive next season, Michel also really needs back up players who can be relied on. Balancing performance when playing in La Liga and in the Champions League requires a lot, Girona must at least retain existing players while recruiting new players in the next transfer window.
