This Laliga has been something else this season, the three clubs have been just shuffling the top of the table for themselves without no outright leader at the moment, Barcelona opened up a seven point gap and when we all thought they will actually go through with it, they stumbled and dropped down, Atletico Madrid also had the chance of staying up and they did same and dropped. Real Madrid who most have ruled out after the first el Classico defeat to Barcelona had an eight point gap later only for them drop in form and now it remains just 1 ahead of Atletico Madrid and 2 ahead of Barcelona. For me I think this will definitely be how the events will be turning until at least one of the clubs put in consistency into their game.

Dani Olmo actually has returned from the injury but we all can see that the midfield trio of Pedri, De Jong and Gavi are back together again with even Fermin Lopez looking to be ahead of Olmo on the picking order. For me I think he should just be making valuable contributions when giving time and he will definitely get his opportunity once more. We all saw how Szczesny got his opportunity and now ahead of Inaki Peña in the picking order.

For next week's match, I think the top three teams will both take the necessary 3 points, but none of them can be guaranteed to win. Ossasuna, Celta Vigo and Rayo Vallecano are by no means teams to be underestimated, but we know who is the favorite to win. It's only the defence that I fear for, for Real Madrid. They have being having defensive issues since last season and I wonder why they club board hasn't yet addressed it. I really don't know the kind of miracle the board wants the coach to make in this situation! Just imagine a big game like that of Atletico Madrid Vs Real Madrid, no single first choice defender played that game. I wonder when they will get to re-enforce the defence.

I agree that Madrid's defence is bad, very bad, the worst department of Madrid's team currently, but that's not my only worry. Their midfield is not good enough. Madrid has not been able to control any game comfortably this season and that's due to a poor midfield. An elite attack or defence won't do that for you. The midfield can't dominate the game and dictate play. The team relies on transitions so the attack just runs at the opposing defence and when they lose the ball, the midfield and defence fight to win it back, when they eventually do, it transitions again and the attack is running at the opposing defence all over again.
This is a good tactic but you need your midfield to be able to keep hold of the ball and control the game, create chances, pull the opponent's defenders and midfielders to the middle and give the attackers space.
Any day te individual players don't show their brilliance or it doesn't work out, then they won't win.

I think this is where the most interesting part of this season has actually been, it is usually this lower or mid ranked teams that have actually been taking valuable points off the three clubs. For me I think every game should be taking way too seriously because any drop in points now will be a big blow to any of the these clubs. The three clubs are against opponents that they have been winning against in recent times so ideally the game shouldn’t be hard for any of the three clubs but still we can’t be too sure who or when next the drop in points will come

In reality, the top three teams currently are not always able to perform consistently in every match. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona sometimes have to accept defeat in games that most people consider easy, so that's why I'm not really sure about what the final result will be. Bottom or mid-table teams tend to play defensively throughout the match, sometimes succeeding in earn 1 point or even 3 points.

Madrid dominated games, they had a midfield that could keep the ball, and Modric and Kroos literally made a name out of controlling the game. The difference between Madrid and Barcelona was that while Barcelona focused on quick short passes, Madrid believed in quick long passes.
These days, even teams like Espanyol get to see the ball almost as much as Madrid, then they're not that good on the counter because the decision-making is not at the top level. The attackers, Vini, Mbappe and Rodrygo hold the ball for too long before releasing it and this gives the opponents time to recover.

Madrid will most likely win City, but like I said, it would be because of their individual quality and not because of how good they are as a team.

They are for sure in great form, but they have been there already at the beginning of the season and nobody could expect for a second that out of a sudden they would crash so hard and lose game after game. In all my years of watching Real Madrid play, I have never seen them dominate teams like Barcelona or Manchester City or even Bayern Munich, yes they won Bayern on several occasions but not by dominating them.
