Atletico played so aggressive in the first half. They often pressed their opponent. However, a disaster come after Simeone subbed off many of key players in the first half. He subbed off Gallagher, Cardozo, Alvarez, Baena, and Almada. Those guys were contributed a lot in the first half.
It's sad those players effort meant nothing because it's get killed by Simeone's subs. He's experimenting with the new players in the second half. In result his team conceded two goals by Espanyol. I hope he learns from his mistake.

Substituting many important players in an official match is very dangerous and stupid decision and Simeone had to pay an expensive cost with this disappointed defeat in a first match in La Liga. This defeat can be considered as an accident but it's not deniable as a disadvantage of their beginning in the season while they want to compete for La Liga title with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

This was a major mistake by the Atletico Madrid coach, which led to a very unfortunate defeat. They made so many substitutions, even though they were only one goal up and still had plenty of time left.
These kinds of mistakes are common, and I'm sure this will be a learning experience for the coach. This match also proves that Atletico Madrid is performing well.

He maybe lost his mind when making those substitutions and it's unbelievable that an experienced coach like him did a series of bad decisions. Atletico Madrid are strong and they will come back with winning soon but generally it's very difficult for them in a title race with two strong competitors, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Atletico Madrid is still a good team they didn't get it right yesterday against Espanyol that doesn't take their hood performance away from them it just gives them the motivation to improve and get back in training to ensure they get things right if they need to appear stronger in the competition this season. Last season they were strong but ended up not winning the league and coming to this season they were at advantage to seal the game against Espanyol when they dominated the game but they couldn't score more goals and when their manager made wrong substitutions Espanyol took advantage of it, got back into the game and scored 2 goals to get their first 3 points of the season. Atletico Madrid can still bounce back the season just began but they have to try to seize every opportunity that comes their way to score as many goals as possible so that what happened in the Espanyol game yesterday won't happen again.

How Athletic club almost lost a nice game they had started against Sevilla was one of my craziest moments of the weekend. Athletic club opened the scoreline with a spot kick from the Spanish wonder kid, Nico Williams which gave the game a new wave. A second strike from Sannadi in the 43rd minutes made me feel the game has ended in first half before a suprise comeback to a 2-2 draw by Sevilla in the 60th and 72nd minutes and also took over the control of the game. A late 81st strike from Navaro saved the Athletic club.

I guess the coaches are taking note of the errors. I used to love Sevilla but since after winning my heart in the last Euro, I have become a Nico Williams lover and wouldn't love to see that team fumble. Athletic club has been a close rival of Sevilla for a long time and only narrowly wins in most cases with only Sevilla winning once in their last 5 games out of a 1-0 victory. Athletic club next game would be against Rayo vallecano and I'm sure it's going to be a 3-1 victory for the Athletics club.

The this match was indeed very tense. Sevilla employed a strategy that made things difficult for Bilbao in the second half, and Sevilla nearly won. Fortunately, Bilbao's players didn't succumb to Sevilla's pressure, and ultimately, despite the tension, Bilbao managed to win the match and earn their first three points. With this win, Bilbao can temporarily move into fifth place. I believe Bilbao must maintain this position. If they can't maintain their lead in fifth place, I don't think it's a good sign for Bilbao.

Meanwhile, as we know, Bilbao will face Rayo next week. I think even though many are currently predicting Bilbao to win this match, Bilbao still needs to be cautious when facing Rayo. Although Rayo isn't the overwhelming favorite, it's important to remember that Girona lost to Rayo in their first match. Therefore, Bilbao must remain cautious. Because I think Rayo could spring a surprise on Bilbao, I'd likely bet neither on Bilbao nor Rayo in that match. I'd probably just bet on BTTS, as I feel it's much safer.

Bilbao was favourite in this fixture and they are right on track with the result they getting over Sevilla that have not been in any good run since  previous season.

The scoreline has changed to 2 - 1, a goal from the Sevilla player  Dodi Lukebakio assisted by Juanlu Sanchez.Looks like Sevilla are getting back into the game and might get a draw with the pressure from Bilbao fading off in this second session of the match.

But the opponent is not a tough one, they will be hosting Osasuna at home, so I almost have no doubt that they will be able to get three points in the first match. Barcelona are also in great form, but there were red cards, so it was clear that Mallorca would lose.

Barcelona shown their strength and Yamal proved that a 10-skirt is not a huge pressure on his shoulders. He is one of brightest star players in this generation with Haaland, Mbappe and Yamal who will be three main competitors for Ballon d'Or in coming years with better chance for Yamal and Mbappe as they are playing for stronger national teams.

Yamal has big disadvantage compares to Messi, not about his talent and skills, but his professionalism that does not affect his body and performances too much when he is young but physical problems will become bigger over time. Ronaldinho, Adriano, and Neymar are good examples and if Yamal continues with his current living style, his career will fall down sooner than expected.

A very poor performance from Atletico Madrid, though Atletico Madrid always find it difficult to defeat Espanyol in every game they meet but Atletico Madrid performance was very poor in that game, Atletico Madrid expected to win the game because they were able to score the opening and control the game in the first half, despite signing nine players before the league started Atletico Madrid failed to win their first game of the season, Diago Simeone need to do better this season to avoid being sack at the end of the season because the club has made a lot of signings to make the team compete in every league this season.

The result of the match was a shock to the team as Espanyol were able to win the game with a come back win in 73 minutes, Atletico Madrid and the coach has a lot to do this season because if they play against Real Madrid or Barcelona with that performance they are going concede more than 2 goals, the team has more than 200 million in transfer window and the fans are expecting a lot from the team.

You are right that many big teams start the tournament with defeats but later on they get stronger. I watched the match between Atlético Madrid and Espanyol. I think the luck of the match was not in Atlético's favour. They played well in the match and deserved to win. But I will bet on them in the next matches because they will do better. If you review the statistics of the last season, you will see that Atlético's form was great and they were at the top of La Liga several times. They were even third at the end of the tournament. I am not at all worried about their form because I know that the tournament is just beginning and they will continue to play better football.

From my point of view it is not right to compare one player with another because everyone's playing style, time, experience and contribution are different. Each player is right in his own place, it is true that Yamal plays really well but it is not right to compare him with Lionel Messi because Messi has been playing consistently for many years and has set various records, Messi has won big trophies with Barcelona. It is not completely wrong to compare players because even the players also compare themselves with eachother. Lamine Yamal is a good example of a player that should be compared with other players since he usually do that often times. Lionel Messi started somewhere and at this age he wasn't bothered about comparing himself even though he had his role models like Maradona, he only focused on his work unlike Yamal. He has gone to the extent of challenging Someone like Ronaldo, someone who has taken years to build his reputation.

Also, it is not all wrong comparing them because it can also help to push the players to be better than they were always. Yamal is good and if he is sensible enough, he will stay humble and know if he can achieve a quarter of what Messi and Ronaldo have achieved.

I share your sentiment, I think it’s time Athletico Madrid make that changes in their management, the team was so poor in their game last night and the style of play from the coach is not impressive to me anymore, being more defensive minded is not a so grateful game to me anymore, they need a new coach who will come in with his own different style of play of trying to win games in a more comfortable manner, the team seems to be performing very poorly, and that was how it is last season and starting with this same performance this season is quite disappointing and ridiculous, loosing an opening game to Espanyol is totally unacceptable and disappointing, I feel sorry for Julian Alvarez he isn’t supposed to be playing in a team like Athletico Madrid, he deserves a more better team, Diego Simeone deserves to be sacked or resign from that job, Athletico Madrid need to make that change in their management.

It's truly boring to see Atletico Madrid management remain largely unchanged for several seasons. They're the most stagnant team in La Liga, and they should be the only team capable of making a difference. Barcelona and Real Madrid consistently dominate, while Atletico Madrid is the scapegoat, enduring bitter hardships throughout the season. Surprisingly Atletico Madrid owners still entrust the club to Simeone.
