What happened to the ICO phenomenem of 2017? The craze which swept the crypto world and brought crypto based investment on a mass scale never seen before has subsided.
ICOs are still happening but with less fanfare and there does not seem to be any investor appetite probably because the amount of scams hugely outnumbering legitimate projects.
Add to that the number of bounty participants being scammed by the ICO project operators it stands to reason they are not promoting ICOs which has also contributed to the lack of ICO success. IEOs have started to kick in and that too has made ICOs less appealing.
In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable successes?
In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable failures?
In your opinion are there any ICOs in 2019 that have been notable scams?
How would you sum up ICOs in 2019 so far?

Most projects I have seen that started as ICOs have stopped and switched to IEOs or will be switching to IEOs after releasing their MVP. I don't know really if the change in token sale method can be considered a success or a failure because they are similar in my view.

2019 had been a great year for IEO's that had a large toll on the traditional way of issuing ICO. IEO too is an easier way to issue an IEO, in that sense, we could call 2019 a much more successful year for ICO in comparison to 2018. The market is again climbing in a natural pace and getting higher support levels that would be beneficial for investors in long term.

2019 has been a successful year for crypto holders because of the increase from the begining of the year, but ICOs have not been really successful yet because of the investors panic on putting money into ICOs.

I would say that generally the ico trend has converted into IEO trend in 2019 although there are still traditional icos running as well but very few have raised decent amount of funds this year so only IEOs seem to be the successful fund raisers this years.

Even though IEO is quite famous this time, but it does generate same hype like the ICO or how successful it was before. IEO it seems like the exchanges are only generating income on this type of concept.

yeah right, it's just that you have to know that ico is also still there for now. but I only heard of one successful ico, I still remember only a project from South Korean (content protocol) that was quite successful with ico even though it only got a little funding. for another ico I don't know whether there was a success or not

ICO is dead in the water, it is going the same way it came. Greed was the order of the day and few people made money at the expense of others. ALot of people have lost money but we need to wait and see how these IEO fair because to me I don't see them being sustainable long term some of them are already trading below their IEO price already

Agreed on the statement above. This only shows that ICO is really dead in my opinion and those projects that are about to launch their ICO should step up and adjust to the new system in which they will communicate with an exchange to conduct their initial offering. I think there were no notable ICO I heard that had a great success.

I heard the same thing too. I even saw a screenshot of an email newsletter the staff sent out to customers about their CEO being missing. This is just one of the many reasons that ICOs are almost dead. The tendency to scam is too high and it is no wonder that investors now find it unappealing today

I never heard of it but if the CEO no longer connects with investors and users and nobody can withdraw dividends then it speaks volumes about whether this project is considered a success or not.

You have said it all, but however Ferrum Network conducted a kind of ICO this year and it was successful as it finished within hours. Also, within days they got their token listed on a good exchange too. The last time I checked, it was trading above ICO price don't know about now. That's the only successful ICO I have seen this year others switched to IEO. In addition, from all ramifications this year is the year of IEOs but depends on the exchange promoting it though.

For this year, I have hardly follow up any ICO so far. I don't know what they are doing now but I think their relevance have been taken over by IEOs which have been doing better for no.

I think that 2019 is still not very successful for the ICO. This year, a new direction of IEO appeared, which replaced the ICO. Therefore, we can say that most likely 2019 is the year of failure for the ICO.

I will start from your last question, as far as 2019 is concern when it comes to ICO. there is no inkling of success at all. As a matter if fact, even the good ones among them are being affected. If it were to be in the days of ICO boom, a project that has close to nothing to offer, will still be able to raise if not the whole hardcap, at least something close to it. Therefore, rating the level of success of ICO in this 2019, I will give a score less than 30%, which is a failure. The team that had it in the mind to conduct ICO, are now shifting over to IEO.

In my opinion, ICOs have so far being the major reason why startups can actually reach their goals and materialise their dreams. It is true that the startups have turned to ICOs to generate funds for their projects but more real is the solutions these startups have given through the help of funding, considering these I will affirm that ICOs have been a success.

It clear the dev is scammer that why one of the reason many ICO's is failure because of the reason, the investors and participants are can't receive their rewards. For me in my own opinion 2019 is time of IEO investor and crypto enthusiasm are now turn on to invest IEO projects. I think that 2019 is still not very successful for the ICO. Your right after all the what happen from a lot of project came from ico's people and investor are worried and scared to invest in ICOs project because of the scamms
