ICOs are still happening but with less fanfare and there does not seem to be any investor appetite probably because the amount of scams hugely outnumbering legitimate projects.

Add to that the number of bounty participants being scammed by the ICO project operators it stands to reason they are not promoting ICOs which has also contributed to the lack of ICO success.

Most projects I have seen that started as ICOs have stopped and switched to IEOs or will be switching to IEOs after releasing their MVP. I don't know really if the change in token sale method can be considered a success or a failure because they are similar in my view.

2019 had been a great year for IEO's that had a large toll on the traditional way of issuing ICO. IEO too is an easier way to issue an IEO, in that sense, we could call 2019 a much more successful year for ICO in comparison to 2018. ALot of people have lost money but we need to wait and see how these IEO fair because to me I don't see them being sustainable long term some of them are already trading below their IEO price already

This only shows that ICO is really dead in my opinion and those projects that are about to launch their ICO should step up and adjust to the new system in which they will communicate with an exchange to conduct their initial offering. I heard the same thing too. I even saw a screenshot of an email newsletter the staff sent out to customers about their CEO being missing. This is just one of the many reasons that ICOs are almost dead. The tendency to scam is too high and it is no wonder that investors now find it unappealing today

I never heard of it but if the CEO no longer connects with investors and users and nobody can withdraw dividends then it speaks volumes about whether this project is considered a success or not.

You have said it all, but however Ferrum Network conducted a kind of ICO this year and it was successful as it finished within hours. Also, within days they got their token listed on a good exchange too. The last time I checked, it was trading above ICO price don't know about now.
That's the only successful ICO I have seen this year others switched to IEO.  In addition, from all ramifications this year is the year of IEOs but depends on the exchange promoting it though.

I will start from your last question, as far as 2019 is concern when it comes to ICO. there is no inkling of success at all. As a matter if fact, even the good ones among them are being affected.
If it were to be in the days of ICO boom, a project that has close to nothing to offer, will still be able to raise if not the whole hardcap, at least something close to it.
Therefore, rating the level of success of ICO in this 2019, I will give a score less than 30%, which is a failure.
The team that had it in the mind to conduct ICO, are now shifting over to IEO.

In my opinion, ICOs have so far being the major reason why startups can actually reach their goals and materialise their dreams. It is true that the startups have turned to ICOs to generate funds for their projects but more real is the solutions these startups have given through the help of funding, considering these I will affirm that ICOs have been a success.

The presence of IEO is like making ICO becoming obsolete. Yes, I can say that is true.

ICO this year is no longer interested by many investors because in this time the market is still in a downward phase so many people will not want to invest in this market. In my opinion, the IEO is the safest solution in 2019 and many big projects have had great success this year so the current trend only focuses on good IEO projects at top exchanges. Definitely a failure year for ICO's. We no longer here this buzzword and have been replace by guess what, IEO. Ive joined the campaign of Miracle tele before and I admit I almost invest wih it since its process is very interesting and many hook up with it. But due to recent news that the CEO haas left probably it will go on a exit turn later on. Im not saying this is a scam already but think about the last email they send? Due to CEO left, team are now off for vacation? Until when? Or for good? Same with some ICOs before. There will be drama or any news about what happened on CEO or team. Year 2019 is not so good year for ICO but I can say that it is still another year of success because even the price is very movable and most of the time ICO suffer from very low price it stays alive and this is the most import thing that happened. ICO in 2019 experienced many failures and has also been replaced by the IEO platform. Many projects that I participated in did not reach softcap and then returned the funds to investors. IEOs certainly seem to have advantages over ICOs most notably being "ease" of having everything take place on one exchange but many scam exchanges such as coinsbit and p2pb2b are sending fake volume to Coinmarketcap to try to make themselves looks bigger and better than others but in the end they are nothing more than modern day thieves waiting to scam as many users as possible before exiting. They are even operating their own IEOs using their own fake IEO projects in the hope to dupe users.

People fear ICO because of the report that big portion of ICO are scams, and with the popularity of IEO, that make ICO obsolete now.

By far, 2017 was indicative and the best for ICO. Now we are witnessing a decline and this I think is expected, since the crypto market itself has now sagged very much. Currently, almost all new projects choose the IEO method for the sale of tokens. There may still be a number of ICOs being held but it seems investors prefer the IEO method because it might be safer for investors and also more quickly traded on the market.
There may be a number of ICOs that can achieve the soft cap target in 2019 but from what I know they want to try the IEO method so that the hard cap target can be achieved

As I thought, ICO has switched to IEO which means it has not called that way. Anyway, I can say it's a failure since there are still projects that succeed in delivering good profit to investors.

The only success story that I have heard of projects this year is the ones from IEO platform, and their story was still all centered on money and not the project that was released by them. Most projects that got released or would I say registered on binance platform had some massive sales that made their value to increase, so some investor actually got like 400% increase on their investment, but to me, that is not the success.

The success that I would count is the one that will make me see that the product being released is massively gaining attention and causing lots of demands after being released, but I have never seen that of any project this year and I feel this year ICO has failed seriously like the previous year, most ICO that we have now, has no demands from the outside world.

In 2017, there was a quick and strong increase in the price of Bitcoin along with it, many other popular altcoins also began to grow, which led to a frantic influx of investors into the crypto market, which began to invest money in all old coins as well as new ones, which caused the ICO boom in 2017.

Miracle Tele has so many issues that I read here in the forum. Just like what you just mentioned the CEO abandoned their community

Even with ICO, that's normal, they raise funds to implement their idea so if you want to be profitable in short term, you should go with the exchange that knows how to hype their investors and that is Binance.

This year in short is the success of IEO and the fall of ICO, even if we don't have to search to prove it, we already know as its obvious based on our observation that most of the bounty ran in the forum is already for IEO projects, it has totally replace the popularity of ICO which I think IEO will just continue to grow as it was patronized by investors.

If they can get a good ROI in a shorter term, they would again invest that money in new IEO and while they are doing that, those people who plan to raise through IEO  are already watching them, so they will run IEO confidently as they know they have investors waiting for them.

I do not agree with your opinion. The ICO from the very beginning had to be organizationally regulated by the states in order to register and check the team for the possibility of fraud, given the amount they collect. Without such regulation, this is a natural ending to this type of activity. States are already finally developing rules for regulating ICO projects, and when this happens, this activity itself should restore its popularity.
In the meantime, the ICO is still trying to survive. However, in the current conditions of the market decline, when new tokens immediately after the release of the exchange, the price drops many times, it is very difficult. New good ICO projects are still being found, but they are becoming much smaller. Perhaps this is also due precisely to the deteriorating situation in the market.

2019 is a combination of few ICO's that succeeded and a lot of scam and failure projects. It's been a struggle for project owner this 2019 as the market is also the other reason why they were not able to get their target and they turned to be failure projects even if they are a genuine team.

Today IEO is one of the best.  If the ICO rules will be change like there is the official KYC of the Owners for sure there will be some changes. I mean there is an assurance so that they can attract more investors.

all ICO which I participated in 2019 all failed. it or swindlers or simply the price left in a minus. even one IEO called VeraExchange failed, too. I can not say of course about other projects, but now is not the time to invest or participate as a hunter.

For all ICOs 2019 is another year of failure because all of them failed ,very fee of them reached their softcap target, investors don't have time for ICO anymore and since IEO have proven to be better in every way no one wants to give ICO projects chances anymore, i guess its time to pretend that ICO never existed.

I have only heard of one ICO which was successful this year and listed on a good exchange, I think that should be Ferrum Network, although I don't know the current nature of the project now. Secondly, the other projects which I saw conducting ICOs earlier this year all switched to IEO, I guess they have seen the hand writing on the wall that they are or maybe bound to fail. On the other hand, talking about ICOs this year, I think investors are tired of being at the mercy of the team, that is asking when listing will occur etc thus focusing more on IEOs whereby they are already aware of the exchange trading will take place. Finally, based on my little findings or write-up, I won't say ICOs are a success this year.

You must have not carefully read the name of the topic and the first post in which the author asked a number of questions regarding ICO, you give an example of a successful IEO held on a large exchange, these are two different things.
Personally, I only heard about the successful holding of Ferrum, the coin did not give growth, but I entered the market, which can already be called success.

I am not replying to the name of the topic and the first post because there are so many people had answered it, but I am replying to his new reply.
He has busted many scams projects before and as an expert in this area, I am sincerely asking about the project that I mentioned above. It is wrong to ask it...?

RepuX/JoyToken is the most notable scam in 2019 in my opinion, pulled out $8 million dollars from the investors.
