Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.
use known exchanges whenever you want to exchange big amounts of tokens.
Binance
Kucoin
Bittrex

Yes, you are right because even though the price is high for converting the coins, it is good to exchange the coins in the above-mentioned exchanges because these exchanges have a very good reputation in cryptocurrencies.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

There are few renowned and popular exchanges which are no problem to exchange crypto big amounts such as- Binance, Kucoin, Kraken, Coinbase, Houbi, Hitbtc etc. But every exchange has few rules and regulation such as fix withdraw amount, kyc process etc.
It's very important to pay attention with the rules and regulations since you are going to use huge amount of money. know everything with your chosen exchange and make sure you are aware with required documents to process. exchange also needs to submit documents from whichever government
handle their jurisdictions. it's mandatory especially with big amount that is in stake.
If you can deposit and withdraw up to 2 btc in a day, why would you need to give your KYC to them? On binance, you don't need to do KYC and you are fine.

Better to avoid bittrex, you need to pass their KYC before you can make any withdraw

If you want a classical exchange, I think it is better for you to use Kucoin, Coinbene, and Okex, but if you really want a safe one.
You can make a research first were you can check it at cryptocompare or coinmarketcap at leas with this you have guidelines
or reference to choose in.

From the users review the two website you mentioned are trustworthy and safe to do your business, they only complains by the users is the high transactions fees which i think it have to do with the credit cards payment.

I think so. But I never changed a big amount on any non custodial exchange. I once changed 6-7 ETH that's the highest amount. And it was in chengelly. If you want to change 10k or higher then you should try some big exchange like binance or huobi.

Even large and well-known exchanges do not guarantee security. The coins are simply not in your hands. The MtGox example is enough.
If they are large transactions, it is definitely better to divide them into several smaller ones.

divide withdrawal to smaller one doesn't make any sense. You need to pay bigger fee rather than withdraw it only for once. You must learn every exchange site too, do you need to KYC or not to withdraw your money. Bigger exchange sites are better than smaller or new one.

Larger exchanges are less risky, but the risk is still there.
Of course, it depends on how big transactions we are talking about, but in my opinion it is better to pay a higher commission for several smaller transactions than to do everything in one big.

Perhaps, you should break up a large amount in parts and change in different places. The risks are great and a possible additional commission will only be the guarantor of your funds. In my country, it is generally dangerous to change so many funds into one account, because the money laundering policy is in effect. Also you can read some usefull instructions here https://cryptoguidepro.com/how-to-cash-out-large-amounts-of-bitcoin/

How big amount you are trying to exchange? I tried to exchange of eth using changelly it went good it land in my wallet but not that big. I still prefer using binance as the well known exchange which users also used. Better search for feedback which is the most trusted and secured exchange.

Hackers now have very clever technical means. If you haven't traded in a short period of time, it is recommended that you put coins in your personal wallet.

Gambler Sunday long term traders only play with the highest amount in every gambling site we can easily find the such people in the exchanges who always awake in the trading telegram and other social platforms in the trading.
To keep the fund safe you can choose your personal wallet instead of exchange wallets.

As long as you're using the most reputable and trusted exchanges that has a good securities and already proven great, then I think you're good to go. Considering there's always hacker lurking around us, no matter which the exchanges are, if it's a very big amount it's better to store you assets on you personal wallet after you've traded it on the exchange somehow.

Even the most reputable exchange has been victimized by hack recently and what if the what you called reputable has been hack again for 2nd time and there extra balance has been drained for the first compensation of the past hacking event do you think it will worth to store big funds if this incident occur? Well hell no!  Better to store those big funds on hardware wallet and trade the amount what you prefer for that day to avoid maximum hurting from unfortunate hackings.

I have never exchanged large amounts at Changelly or Shapeshift, but I think it's safe.  btw, if you are a little doubtful you should not exchange large amounts there.

Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.
of course safe, I highly recommend Binance as the best exchange, I always exchange there, I have been very comfortable doing transactions in Binance and I have never experienced any problems so far.

I think so. But I never changed a big amount on any non custodial exchange. I once changed 6-7 ETH that's the highest amount. And it was in chengelly. If you want to change 10k or higher then you should try some big exchange like binance or huobi.

Exactly, people, who want to exchange higher amounts they need to do it from the potential exchange like Binance and Huobi. Even without KYC, we can easily withdraw 2 BTC per day through Binance exchange, so it is good to exchange your funds with the potential exchange.

Yes that's true big exchange will always protect their reputation, and as long as they are trusted money will just comes in, they want traders protected, so if you are trading a huge amount of Bitcoin don't go for lesser known exchange, go for big exchange like Binance or Kucoin or Huobi, they always address every issue that comes along the way

Yes, you can safely exchange your amount but you need to choose the best exchange because there are many fake exchanges which you might lose your money. Before depositing you need to check their withdrawal procedure because some might give less amount on a daily basis.

You misread what the guy you're responding to meant I think, or I misread what OP's original question actually asked.

I think, it's really important here to note that some exchanges will always give you your request from a hot wallet, and as you say Binance has that daily withdrawal limit of 2 BTC, which suits most people. More than that and they have to review manually. So probably best to break up your balances to several amounts less than the daily max.

But for me, I would rather actually do KYC first on any site that may require me to do it. You don't want to end up being suddenly asked and you're not willing or not able to.
