Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.

I suggest using an exchange such as binance when doing large amounts. binary has proven to be the most popular and secure exchange for transactions. because if you use an exchange that is only designed for small transactions will only waste time and increase your fees

Yes for shapeshift and it's not for changelly because it needs manual confirmation. They are designed to able maintain any service but the reputation between shapeshilft and changelly are different.
It's the safe place to exchange your crypto on binance and another exchange site that can be considered as a safe place like binance just like kucoin. I have exchanged a lot of money use kucoin and i never got any problem and overall it was giving the best service.

When you have a huge amount of money, it is better you do the transactions on a more safer exchange site. One that is more trustworthy and a lot of people trade there. At least you know your money will be safe.

I wouldn't use Shapeshift for larger amounts, even if you've provided KYC.
I personally use Kraken for anything above 1k USD, never had a problem with them and their support is extremely good.

Check out changelly FAQ on related question: https://changelly.com/faq#what-is-the-maximalminimal-amount
I think you could exchange large amount without problems. But I would suggest you split your funds in different parts just in case something unpleasant happens. I guess unpleasant things rarely happen on the exchange otherwise it would have a bad reputation in Crypto space.

What is your definition of a 'big amount'?

If we are talking about tens of thousands or more, I'd suggest a larger exchange, binance, coinbase, etc. For places like shapeshift, I'd say go for small swaps only. Besides minimizing risk, breaking up the orders probably makes the most sense anyway -- that way the price you get may be better. Too large a buy or sell on a place like that, where the final price isn't guaranteed, could result in under market value.

I would recommend a face to face deal with local exchanger where you can physically visit the exchanger transfer the coins to his wallet address and then take the local cash with you personally i follow this procedure when i need to cashout big enough money but everyone has his own choice and now their are many exchanges and apps that can offer withdrawals in fiat directly to bank accounts.

Yes it's safe to trade huge assets on non custodial exchanges if it's a top exchange like binance, Coinbase, luno and the likes.

I don’t know about these exchanges that you mentioned because they are not popular to me, and I don’t think they will have the volume that is needed for you to have a large trading transaction. You know that binance is a big exchanges already and I think that it is best to just use big exchanges like binance for everything you want to do since they are reliable and they are also cheap when it comes to fees.

It would be best you trade in an exchange that has big volume, so that it can be able to accommodate any amount that you wish to use. I think there are also other large exchanges that are designed for large transactions such as coinbase, kucoin, bittrex and so many other exchanges, except maybe you just want to give these exchanges that you mentioned a try.

It is safe, but you need to find the right exchange. I would not recommend to get outside top 5 exchange by searching. Binance, Huobi and Okex are my favourite exchanges, that I can recommend for safe exchange of any amount.

Never deposit large amounts of money on one exchanger, even if he has a great reputation. If your money is not stolen, the exchange may block it and ask you to provide documents confirming their origin. Even if you have earned money honestly, do you need extra trouble?
Therefore, divide your money into pieces of not more than 10-50 thousand dollars and withdraw them.

I wouldn't trade big amounts on changelly, I traded there but with minimal amounts but if you want to feel safer, go with the larger exchange as given like Binance.
If it's for bigger exchange, I'll choose Binance and other known exchanges where I can complain if I experience a fault.

I think it's a bit risky I once read a post on reddit, the person who made this post exchanged one of those exchanges with a sizeable amount of $ 20 K + but because at that time the exchange was in error, this person's assets were not sent to his wallet, but when the exchange it has been fixed, the exchange did a refund on his assets, it's just that from the case I think is not feasible if we make large transactions on exchanges like them.

Recording transaction, zero trading bot, easy to contact support is the most important things if you want to trade using big ammount. Reputable exchange may will safe your money carefully. But, as other people suggestion. dont sent all of your money on one bucket, so if something error happen, you dont lost all of your money.

It isn't safe, i think. You should use bitfinex, okex, bitmax and Binance exchange. It isn't about big or low amount. Here shapeshift is safe but without top exchange you shouldn't deposit big amount.

Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.

I don't know how big of a big amount you mean, if it's really big then I don't recommend using an exchange like Changelly because customer service there is still less than an exchange like binance, so it would be risky if you have a problem with your big amount.

It is better to choose your last exchange option, which is binance, binance already has good enough trust here and customer service is undoubted.

most people would prefer a big exchanger, even if it's classic like binance,
Why? because when there is a hacker attack, the company can compensate the funds that have been taken from the hacker,
This is the advantage why we have to choose a big exchanger, and I'm sure a big exchanger must have funds for unexpected events.

Centralized exchanges are still being attacked by hackers, even Binance has been hacked this year. But they had a contingency fund for that. So I think If you trade on the top big exchanges you will be safe.

Big exchanges have strong financial potential and they always have a huge investment fund to support all their customers so if you choose large exchanges you won't have to worry too much about Hacking problem. I have been in the Binance exchange for the past 2 years and everything at this exchange is very stable and I believe that If you are a new investor, you can join Binance exchange in the safest way
