It is safe inasmuch you do not leave your fund for too long on the exchange you do not trust that much. Send your coin to the exchange only when you're set to sell and ensure you withdraw back to your wallet immediately after trading.

If you have large volumes to trade, obviously you are rich and I congratulate you.
Let's say that it is better not to make suspicious transactions that could attract the attention of government agencies.
It is not clear what is illegal or not, but better not find out in front of a judge ...

If we are talking about probability and safety, we can say. Doing the trade on a classic or non-custodial exchange is safe as long as you are using a reputable one.
but holding it on there is a different matter because it is extremely unsafe to do that. And there are limits on a different exchange, some of them support a high-end transaction and some of them not.

All according to your needs, an Exchange like Changelly / shapeshift is an Exchange that places a certainty on fast transactions, and prioritizes account security with a good exchange rate. suitable for those of you who need quick access. But I prefer to use Binance / Polo / Bitt. they have been tested and have a clear address

I more often do transactions to make large withdrawals using local exchanges because if there is a problem in transactions in my country there is an office address and it is easy to verify it, in contrast to binance or other large exchanges if there is a problem it will be difficult to solve it.

I guess if you trade in large amounts of binance it's safe. binance is the biggest exchange in the world and they have a very good reputation. the team also has a very clear identity.

indeed, if we trade at a local exchanger, we have the advantage that it can be directly converted to fiat and directly transferred to a bank account, so we only need the fee once. different from binance, where we have to transfer to local exchange, then withdraw it, so that it suffers from double fees. but unfortunately the local coin exchange is not as complete as binance, so I guess it depends on our needs. and binance is a safe exchange even though we trade in large numbers

Hey.
Is it safe to exchange big amounts on non-custodial exchangers like changelly or shapeshift, or are they designed for small transactions?
I'm a newbie and I want to know if it's safe. Also, I want to know if it's safe to exchange crypto on classical exchanges like binance.
The level of security is different in my opinion. Every exchange can be hacked. There is an exchange that serves when the incident occurs. Binance is so far safe. However, we still need to be careful with storing important personal data.

I do not think there is a problem  exchanging big amounts on Changelly or shapeshifts as long as you are able to handle the charges and also have a cold storage wallet to send the coin to
No matter how reliable that you think the exchange will be, it is never safe because you didn't know the team behind it personally, and it is easy for someone to get compromised over a big amount of money to small one, imagine you have an exchange that you have been using, and all they have seen at once is 1000 bitcoin from different users, and then one day, they got a transfer of 100,000 bitcoin, do you know how much that would be, and do you know that they are okay with that profit and does not even need to work anymore for profit.

It takes a responsible person not to get compromised on a big amount, and I don’t actually know these exchanges too well for me to advise you right, but all I can say is that change your money batch by batch when you are doing that.

I only exchange in changelly if the amount small but when it comes to big amount I don't risk to it. I prefer exchanges like binance or bittrex.

With the amount of your invested money, it's very needed to be more extra careful since even the one we love to use for exchange/trading can be hacked by those people who got a huge knowledge working with this kind of illegal acts, there's no safe place if you are not careful enough with your money, you need to be more strict when you are using any particular place to deal with your exchange activities be very careful with your assets.

I will rather use a centralized exchange that I understand it mechanism well. Use a trusted exchange and avoid exchange like  bitebtc, and avoid the one with too much withdrawal fee, and not requiring KYC for the amount you are about to exchange.

Yes, for the security of your account, you should trade at Binance. because there they have many different functions, such as Stoploss and loaning if necessary.
There, you also won't worry about security, because from early 2018 until now, no account has lost money at Binance exchange.

many people did not know that BiteBTC would be a scam. and many lost their money there as I did. but also we cannot be sure of many exchanges that exist now

My advice before making a big exchange is to make sure the market is always active, and record trading transactions that are not in the form of bots in it, clear information and support that is important in every major exchange, a good binance and a safe exchange, try not to trade. One-time transaction, if there is a mistake then you will not lose all the assets that you have
If there is a fat finger syndrome on the trader, comparing the exchange rates and liquidity will not help that person. Actively traded markets are usually turned by the trading bots and there will be always fake trading volume generator bots in the small market cap altcoins. Major exchanges are my preference and I ask the same questions related to the low volume exchanges with no liquidity altcoin pairs. Iliquid market conditions will unquestionably lead to the volatile market prices which is dangerous for the new traders without a decent experience. Binance altcoins never get a flash crash price bar on any chart during the trading these altcoins actively on Binance exchange.

I would say judging from their reputation they built over the past years
They won't ruin everything they built from scratch by running away because they could make more off it in a long run

The only risk is that if you are afraid that during the transaction period, their network/server got hijacked which caused the lost in coins
I would say only exchange the amount you are afford to risk because Crypto is meant to be control/access by only the private key owner
If your coins are not under a wallet that you had access too, there's always a risk

Good luck!

Large funds as much as what you want to exchange. Binance is the best exchange at this time in my opinion, because I use binance for all my transactions. Binary security is getting better and stronger from hacker attacks. if you use an exchange that only supports a small transaction, it will waste the fee, because it will be broken up in several transactions according to the maximum transaction they set.

Use strong and famous exchanges, don't try making experiments with your money on noname platforms. If you hesitate when watching an exchange, make your own research, check how popular it is. And also check the volumes - what sums other people use there.
