ICO fund raising is legit but ICO projects have worse history in crypto space since 2018 because of scammers and no investors want to invest money on ICO projects, we are in 2020 now and IEO is still doing better, many said IEO will die just like ICO but they are wrong, exchanges stands between new projects and investors, for Exchanges to prosper in this space they have to keep their reputations too and safe guide their investors,
ICO is almost non existent now, not because they are barred from operating but because they can't find investors.
The mindset of the investors about ICO was already fix, ICO=SCAM.

this is why I believe that IEO will last longer than ICO.
I think the hype of IEO was is not here anymore, De-Fi is the new thing now.

well ICO goes long time before finally turns scam so saying that IEO will not end the same is too early to talk.
Yeah they are making good move these days but lets see in years to come.
For me ICOs are not effective anymore hence these type of crowd funding are prone to turn into scams and there were lots of scam projects that during 2018 and 2019 respectively were ran thru ICOs that more likely ended up to scam. IEOs are most trusted now wherein investors can take assurance  if anything goes wrong or it failed to gather a certain amount of funds they are guaranteed to be refunded by the exchange platform.
actually it is effective for scammers lol,ICO are long gone mate and i don't know if there is a good place for crypto anymore after what
majority of them did in this market.

Many have been scam with ICO. I dont think ICO are still Legit. That's my opinion.
just because many have been scammed does that mean ico are not legit anymore ? can i say that those people are just too much excited that they join and join without thinking that they can be scammed and why others didnt get scammed ?

Quote
These days, projects prefer ICO
not ico nor ieo but defi was the latest now . people take the oppurtunity and to go with the flow because this is what they think they can earn easy than sticking on older methods of funding and investing but nothing wrong of going for ico , infact i will not join these hypsters but i will support the forgoten ones .

Legit for ICO defi, apart from ICO defi I think many fail, I am surprised, many ICO Defi is now much more trusted,
even though they don't do IEO on popular exchanges, for example XYFI, they get very large funds from ICO,
even though their team is anonymous I don't know what it will end,

ICOs for anonymous projects are illegal and it is still going on, I have not seen any litigation related to these projects as these projects are unknown owners.
For projects with clear owners and company registrations, the ICO is legal since they have registered the company in a country that allows an ICO to be held, usually an ICO comes with AML / KYC standards.

For projects that are legal like you said, they will not be afraid to lose interest from investors by choosing to do ICO over IEO. Because experienced investors certainly know which projects are legal or at least sponsored by registered companies.

be careful with KYC, not everything that is legal and asks for KYC can look good. sometimes you will just fall victim to documents that were taken away by a project scam. we have seen it in the past, don't be repeated for this year and in the future. The ICO may still be running, but how can the market respond when a clearer one is on the market?

I think something is upside down, now it's not the era of ICO anymore, even IEOs have started to be quiet since DeFi was established, although some people still think that DeFi won't last long, but DeFi is currently in a good trend.

ICOs are not really and characteristically awful. Sadly, real financing needs are handily mixed with false activities without guideline, As with stopping cash in any instrument, investors are asked to practice alert and due persistence. The idea of ICOs, nonetheless, is liquid and strong. It doesn't take a lot to take an interest in an ICO up to a financial specialist has digital currencies in any case. Back in the prime of ICOs, there were hardly any guidelines (for better or for more terrible) and no legitimate insurance for financial specialists. An ICO business visionary may distribute a white paper specifying the reason and subtleties of the activity, and still, after all that, it could in all likelihood be created.

to qualify with the terms of evaluation as preparing entrance to work with the launching and release of offers for the product and service for public marketplace as following distinct with strategy as different appeals might be taken comparing one to other investors for the startup project on ico field.

What kind of question is this? seriously? some are some are not. Do your own research and find out. Nobody on this forum can tell you what's best for your money, it's your choice ffs.

When an ICO doesnt fulfill the legal regulations of a certain country don't participate. easy as that.

Many have been scam with ICO. I dont think ICO are still Legit. That's my opinion. These days, projects prefer ICO to IEO of they know they are not Legit enough to do IEO
I think something is upside down, now it's not the era of ICO anymore, even IEOs have started to be quiet since DeFi was established, although some people still think that DeFi won't last long, but DeFi is currently in a good trend.

Most DeFis are scams. same ICOs were in 2017. dont burn yourself.

Of course still if you choose a good project.
just because IEO was booming at the time doesn't mean it will replace ico forever.
the proof is that until now ico is still there and IEO performance is normal.
it doesn't matter how the project raises funds, the most important thing is whether the project's performance will be good or not.

There are still legit ICOs like , the graph which is happening today but seems like farming and staking is working better, no risk of getting a pulled rug, and You can stake and farm with stable coins.

Seems like there are many people in cryptocurrency doubting the ICO projects, look at this thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5263972.0
Not all ICOs are legit indeed, but not all ICOs are scam, there are some real project although only 1 or 2 projects at the moment.
The key is, never quickly decide to invest on project without proper due diligence or we will lose our money.

Yes, In each era you could see good ICOs and Scam ICOs, Even in 2017 when it was ICO time, there were so many scam ICOs, now something newer than ICO has come recently called IPO, upcoming IPO I'm looking forward to is Equilibrium, Equilibrium token swap is over, so I consider taking part in their IPO on Polkadot. Seems like a no-risk deal, so I can take my DOTs back under any scenario.

It's been long I heard about ICOs I doubt if they are even profitable, not too many people are familiar with the ICO age anymore. The good old days!

I don't think so ICO's are still worthy of investing . Most of the ICO's are creating to steal peoples money .

Why people still invest whether their time or monies in such projects because they want to get-rich very fast from crypto .

People are investing still in ICO because they are still hoping to have a good coin. Yes, it will give you an instant money but the risk potential that you are facing is too high. As we all know that ICO had scammed issue even before. In fact, many people lose their lives because of it. Therefore, those who are still believing from ICO are tough and has a lot of money to be spend. They are also the investors who won from past ICOs that gave to them much of money. We don`t know the cause, we should just wish good result for them.

Unfortunately the ICO trend has ended now, investors are no longer interested in ICO projects. Now what is booming are DeFi projects,
many people are FOMO to invest in DeFi projects. But not all DeFi projects are good, we have to do some research to find out good DeFi
projects for investment. Besides DeFi projects, we can still invest in IEO projects, because the IEO trend is not over. There are still several
profitable IEO projects, although there are not many of them.

Initial coin offering is still legit, the problem is from the projects that are using ICO to raise funds, scammers are using the strategy to extort money and give fake promises in return, in the end they exit scam, this is why investors don't trust ICO any more but ICO is very good, only strong project use ICO today because there is a high chance that investors won't Invest, the project must be damn good to attract investors
