As well, we have great news for you! next month, one of our dev-team members is going to make a conference in one city of Catalonia thanks to one Google Developers group.

Less heat just means the gpu is more idle. But that just means the miner program will have to be adapted to eventually not being idle.

I am sorry but the arguement for heat and summer is bollocks. What about the 9 other months in europe that is a useful heat source?cam you moan aboit heat just crank the ovwr clocking lower, or go to a coin that uses pos.

 In the end I am happy with any asic reaistant coin, but the algo imho doesn't matter as long as 1. Has no known colisions attacks 2. Is asic resistant .

What other benefits does x11 have over scrypt-n? I mean does it actually stay static algo and not a adaptive schedule? So asic can be built!

Gamers thay want to mine, just need to not overclock open their cases etc.

Darkcoin isn't getting traction because of x11 either it claims to do anonymous transactions.

We don't know the exact amount of people but it's amazing to spread the word of cryptos and CataloniaCoin to the citizens!

I completely agree that for now these should be the among the main criterias for selecting an encryption algorithm for a decentralized trustless transaction network. Hopefully the mix-algos, like X11, will remain ASIC and bug free for some time! In addition, if some of the secondary properties(lower temperatures,lower power consumption,longer GPU lifetime etc) are attractive for much broader circle of miners/gamers, then its a BIG plus.

I am just trying to ignite a discussion, nothing more e.g. One interesting property of the X11 algorithm is, that, so far the ratio between the hashing speed of the best CPU and best GPU is close to 3. This adds some interesting dynamics (good and bad i suppose) to the future transactions network, don't you think ?

To the devs: If you guys are interested in making the CATC-algorithm more "environmentally friendly " and dislike the X11 for any reason, there are some interesting mix algorithms out there with similar attributes to X11!

Please, we're more than a project and we're working hard on everything. You can take a look to the last news on our main thread, blog and Twitter.

If you're only taking care of the price every single second please, do it with other coins that only want to be another pump & dump coin. This is not our intention.
