Since there were major confusions regarding who should handle the escrow, a POLL has been created!

BTCump.

First of all, I like the idea of Speculation Games. Thanks to whoever has originally suggested it. I'm not sure about the confusion regarding escrow though, as I don't see any such discussion regarding that in this thread. In any case, it seems, I'm unable to participate in the voting process, as voting options are disabled for me!

If you guys are looking for forum escrow, here is a list to chose from - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0. But, as I can see, DarkStar_ has already showed interest and that should have already solved the problem, unless you are looking for multi-sig.

Looking at the rest of the choices in suggested escrow, it seems you guys are trying to have someone from India. In that case, I'll suggest the following names to be included in voting list...

1. deadley - Legendary - Registered on April 11, 2013 - No negative trust

2. erikalui - Legendary - Registered on July 28, 2013 - No negative trust

3. vennali - Legendary - Registered on September 26, 2013 - No negative trust

4. Stedsm - Legendary - Registered on November 28, 2013 - No negative trust

5. Avirunes - Legendary - Registered on November 30, 2013 - No negative trust

6. newIndia - Legendary - Registered on December 27, 2013 - No negative trust

All of the people mentioned above are Legendary with no negative trust from DT and registered on 2013. All of them were active within last one month, which means these people are continuously contributing for almost 6 years. I believe, that is enough at stake and we can have any one of them as escrow (or multiple if we go for multi-sig).

I dont see any reason to exclude the existing users listed in the voting though, as I am not aware of any scammy behaviour from any of them. So, you can just include deadley, vennali, Avirunes & newIndia in your list to make it complete and let them compete. Wink

Darkstar already agreed to do escrow without any fee, so I think he is best option.

I dont know whether the naming order can be rearranged. But, if it is, Any other active member and If anyone of you doesn't need a multisig, comment your support for whom? should be the last two options.

Was it mandatory to post here about our opinion? I'm clear with my decision already over Telegram that I'd only prefer Darkstar_ over any other candidates here.
Nopes. It is not mandatory at all and I have never said such either. But, what you said to whom in Telegram or who decided what in Telegram has no relevance over here in BitcoinTalk. Historically, lot of scams have taken place in BitcoinTalk due to Telegram communication. So, we should rather be wary of Telegram usage in things related to BitcoinTalk.

Also, voters need to know, how long the poll will remain active. Otherwise, OP can close it at his whim as and when he feels his choices has higher vote than others.

Well, if you're talking about DS (I believe he supports DS as well), he may choose to do it right now as he's got enough votes over any candidate here, but that wouldn't be fair and that's why he even added more candidates like deadley, vennali and newIndia to give equal chance to everyone of them to be decided as an escrow, but I believe that our local community is highly inactive and/or unknown about this as well as very limited in number so we really can't get to a result here (if you want to hire an Indian extremely over a Canadian based on the TG group guy's comments). So it's better to stop this discussion please and leave it in the hands of DS, he's clearly the best of the best amongst any escrow on this forum.
First of all, the whole poll is meaningless if DS is there. Others are just no match with the trustworthiness of DS, who is entrusted by theymos to HODL a key for the forum fund. But, at the same time, this is an Indian thing, where we are not allowing non-Indian users. Hence, escrow should be Indian as well. A global celebration is already taking place in Meta run by theymos. I dont know, whether DS saw this thread and showed interest himself or some manipulative guy invited him here to complicate the process. Having seen lot of scammers before, I can somehow sense the modus operandi of a scammer. It seems, someone here wants to woo DS to be entrusted by him to get into DT2. That is when, we'll start to witness the real drama.

Apart from this, I think, the fund should be used in Speculation game only or something related to BitcoinTalk. For translation etc, translators can post their address here and donations can go directly to them. Fund creation is not required for this. This is my personal opinion though and can definitely be discarded. But, a fare discussion regarding this needs to take place on BitcoinTalk, not on Telegram.

In any case, I think, all eligible Indian should be given equal chance in the poll to hold the escrow.

Cleaning BitcoinTalk community since 2014.

I don't see why this is so much of an issue. It's not like I'm charging a few and profiting off of the India section celebrations. If you don't trust me enough, I guess the simple solution is to not participate in anything I run/escrow. I don't really care whether or not I escrow for this, it doesn't make a difference if I do it or if legendster does it. (or someone else entirely)

I know for a fact that there is a Telegram group with a bunch of Bitcointalk members from India. Just because it's off forum doesn't make their opinions invalid.

I don't know why Darkstar shouldn't escrow this deal and why we are insisting that the escrow be an Indian. It doesn't matter as we are not using any Indian payment and Darkstar is willing to help and is more trusted than the Indians in the poll. It's after all bitcointalk anniversary so let's celebrate it rather happily and not hold any grudges for others. It's not Indian independence that is being celebrated only by us.

@Rotten Egg, everyone one of us (at least who are using the Indian forum regularly) are aware that you are a well seasoned troll here for years and we do know that replying to a troll will increase the troll's power. But since, you have started making claims here and trying to create too much drama I would like to chime in.

The telegram group right now has 21 members ranging from old timer trustworthy members to newbies. Everyone of them have been part of the Indian forum for years and are the only remaining people (after the 2017-2018 pump and dump) who are non-spammy, never received a negative trust and are highly contributing to the section. We have cumulatively spoken regarding this and have selected DarkStar for being the escrow. I have invited newIndia, deadley, avikz and other trustworthy people to the group as well to make everyone available in the group. Right now only newIndia and deadley are the only old non-negative trust Indians who have still not joined the group. You are totally banned from joining the group with yourself being a self-made troll and commenting to any of your posts in future will eventually feed you to become someone like Cryptocunter/TOAA.

Regarding the escrow, pawanjain has pitched the idea to hold the funds in a wallet which can either be controlled by me or by any of the trusted escrows.

Here is the post for the same :

I will participate in it as well. May be we can get a donation from other members as well and create a wallet whose private key you or an escrow can hold and give it to the winner at the end of the day.

MZ, Benson, Avirunes and escrow.ms had been the only escrow as far as Indian forum was concerned. We tried to contact MZ and Benson but both of them are far from reach and apart from the above 4 people none of the Indian has expressed interest in being a escrow so far. This is why I thought any of the global escrows could do the job for holding the amount and hence I put forward the names of DarkStar_, krogothmanhattan and bl4nkcode.

We can hire either someone like DarkStar_, krogothmanhattan or bL4nkcode (probably there are more reputed escrows) and I guess they wouldn't be imposing any fees for the escrow amount as this initiative is for a good cause and not for trading goods as such.

But some of them without reading the topic wholly has started their claims that I have imposed DarkStar's name. Both DarkStar_ and bL4nkcode uses the Piggy's notification bot and tagging their name in any of the topic in forum will trigger a PM notification to them. DarkStar_ should have seen the notification and would have expressed his interest in escrowing the amount. There is no such "PMs or deceiving DarkStar_ to be in DT" dramas over here. You are imagining things and trying to ruin everything which is very much evident in your above posts.

@DarkStar_ we would like to apologize for the unnecessary dramas created over here by these trolls. Right from 2017 December, the Indian board has been a frog pond with too much of spammers and after 2 years of reporting by newIndia, eaLiTy and myself the board is somewhat in the reactivation state and would hopefully reach betterment next year. Trolls were very much silent till 2019 but when the board is gearing up for the betterment they have started their trolling.

The celebration topic has been created and DarkStar_ is the escrow with the results of voting. The idea was pitched by me initially and hence the celebration topic has started after many discussions. This topic will be locked by now to prevent further derailing and dramas. If any of the trolls don't like the happenings going over here create a separate  topic in Meta/Reputation and complain about me.

A couple of people requested that I provide some stats on the poll voters here. I am generally willing to provide poll stats that are general enough not to identify individual voters. If you want actual voter lists published, then you have to warn people about this in advance.

One person specifically requested that I provide counts of voters who had at least 10 merit. 10 voters for DarkStar_ had at least 10 merit, while 8 voters for legendster had at least 10 merit. An additional stat which I came up with: Consider the amount of merit that each voter earned over the last year. The median of that stat was 82 for DarkStar_ voters, and 3 for legendster voters.

I am only providing stats; do not interpret this as me supporting anyone. I barely even know what you're voting on here.
