Altcoin have not really been disappointing based on its current price reactions to the btc spikes, most crypto trading are tagged against USD, EUR or some other fiats, when you check the usd value of altcoin you will know they have not disappointed us but gained USD value regardless of the satoshi they are currently been traded unless those altcoins that actually crash down.

On the other hand, altcoin price will decline when btc price slides because it is quoted and traded against btc.

Are you expecting an altcoin that just recently emerging to a bitcoin which crowned as the first crypto ever to be created that's just ridiculous. even bitcoin has a really huge community base and altcoins rarely have such a thing. altcoin only known as a tool for making profit while bitcoin has an actual means of being used as payment method unlike most of the altcoins. even hoping altcoin could have bitcoin's price or atleast stable is just a wishful thinking except those stablecoin.
