Very unfortunate news, A Brazilian MMA Fighter  Lucas Gabriel Perez has died from a head injury he received on 11 September. He was only 22 years old and after that fight on 11 September, he said to his family that he was having some headache and was taken to the hospital instantly. His condition went worse day by day and was transferred to another hospital instantly only to be declared dead this Saturday. RIP.  Hope the MMA fans and his family will be able to withstand this huge loss.

It is really unfortunate to hear news like these, the problem with small promotions is that they will not be getting enough payment and the problem i think  here in this situation is that there is no medical clearance required to fight.

I searched online but could not find much information as they are still investigating the cause of death even though they say that the cause of death is head injury. There is no report whether the injured was there before coming into the fight and it got worsen after the fight or he sustained the injuries during the fight.

I wouldn't agree with this. Some are doing it because of potential pay (keep in mind that initial MMA pay is shit), most do it because they are good at it and actually like it, but non do it because they want to entertain people that are watching. If there is a small percentage of people that do it for entertainment then those people have issues and should be informed that there are simpler ways to entertain people, like being magicians at a kid's b-day party. The only one they are doing it for is themselves. I am genuinely sad to see this happen and hope that the sport can evolve to a much safer competition, but let's not put this on the people that watch that said sport.

Dana White's Contender Series 2021 Week 5 is scheduled for tomorrow, and we have five more potential UFC fighters if they perform good and win in theit fights.
Main event is looking interesting with one more fighter from Poland with perfect 8-0 record, Łukasz Sudolski fighting against Igor Poterya from Ukraine.
Sudolski is heavyweight fighter coming from Babilon MMA and I think Dana is now pushing hard for Polish fighters.

All fights are confirmed with one big weight miss and 30 percent fine for fighter Gaxhja.

I kinda think that PFL and ONE are better options these days, but you take what you can get I guess. Bellator has fallen down the ladder in the last couple of years and maybe that their past record catching up to them. It's not that they are putting up bad shows, it's just that they have a shitty track record. Just my oppinion.

Fights, in general, are happening more often, but that does not equate to fighters fighting more. So as we are talking about what will put fighters more money in their pockets, it's fighting frequently rather than sporadically. And regarding a serious MMA business, honestly, quantity does not equate to quality, and Bellator has been lacking quality for some time now.

Ah yes, KSW, Europes Bellator XD Looking forward to seeing Pejić fight again a glad to see Pudz and Bombardier is back on. I just can't imagine on what sauce is Pudz on. He is 44, jacked to the gills, and actually doing good in his fights. KSW is leaning strongly into the freak show fights. I mean, they tend to have good fights, but over all it always looked like a carnival XD

We’ll see if people drive all the way to the event.  I heard gas prices are through the roof in London.   

The main event is way underappreciated in these parts.  I see people flocking over to boxing threads of mostly unknown guys.  Lol..   Anyway who you guys got?  Page or Lima?  I like Page but I don’t like the odds at 1.70.

I would give slight advantage for Michael Page to win in main event, he has amazing 19-1 record and reach advantage.

^  Yup as the line says.  He was 1.70 at Stake before they took the whole betting market for this event down.  Not sure why they did it.  But here’s the thing, Page opened at 2.25 in some books that posted the lines early. The books have Lima at almost 2 to 1 favorite at opening.  Hmmmm..  Lima could be the bet here.

It was 2 - 1 for Lima for me.  I mean it was close but it really looked like Page didn’t land 20 punches on Lima.  IMHO.  Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.  What Lima could’ve done was get a take down in the second round.  If he had done that, he would’ve gotten the W imho.

Looks like it is hard to get a decision right when they fight in England in their homeland. It is a robbery and i cannot understand how the judges can give a split decision victory to Michael Page when Douglas Lima clearly won the fight in my eyes. The good thing is that Michael Page wants the trilogy and even i would like to see them fight again rather than giving Michael Page the title fight.

Whole fight in general was quite passive, as if they waited when the opponent will make a mistake. These factors must have moved the scales on Pages side. In the second round, when Lima chopped Page with a lowkick, he should not miss that uppercut.

In Russian language there is a proverb "At home, even walls help". This is what helped Page this time. Their fight is another example that fighters should not give fights results in judges hand.

Playing passive is what cost Lima the match. Although both the players played passive, but maybe Page was the less passive one as we just saw from the result. But I agree with you where you said that players should try to fight and gain the victory themselves, but put it in the hand of the judges. Waiting for your opponent to make a  mistake is okay, but waiting for too long won't be a good idea.

From what I feel like, is that it is very unwise to let the judge make a decision. Because if the judges make the decision, there is a high chance that you might lose even after you played well. Judges should not be biased but biased calls sometimes happen unintentionally. I feel that play aggressively and win your match your way. Letting the judge make a decision only calls for more controversy from what I have seen.

I am also not happy with the decision but i was surprised with the way in which Michael Page was able to control the fight like he wanted and his wrist control was really good and he was able to avoid the heavy kicks of Douglas Lima for majority of the fight and he learned his lessons from the first fight as he was always fighting from the outside and now the trilogy is inevitable.
