According to the recently published data, since 2013, the annual growth performance of Bitcoin only occurred in about 10 days, which means that each year we will have 10 days that Bitcoin actually increases aka "pump". Therefore, the actual pump of Bitcoin is very short, it is only a blink of an eye compared to the rest (sideway or decline).

However, there are also many ideas that "not every Hold is the best". If a person held bitcoin before December 2017 until now, they would still lose more than 50%.

If you do go for long term then Hodling would be the best strategy for you but there were people who do really not want to wait for long time but rather they do
actively trading up coins to accumulate profit on a short span of time which is a considerable way on making your stash more bigger but as we all know that it would

I think that even traders may be holding some coins. I see it not a contradiction, instead a "diversification" of the ways to gain some more and maybe lowering the risks too.

My answer is 'yes'.  And the reason why I'm holding btc is because when it was oscillating around $10,000 I thought that any time it dipped under that price would be a great time to buy and I did.  Did I expect btc to fall to where it is now?  Not really, but it didn't shock me at all and I've continued to buy more.

The best time to buy anything that's worth buying is when it's on sale, which bitcoin is right now.  That isn't to say I can predict its price with any accuracy but I don't doubt for a single second that it's going to blast past $10,000 and go well above that.  It could be next year, the year after, who knows but it's going to happen.  And I'll be holding onto my coins that I'll look back at and think I got really cheap.

Long term holding will only be good if you have patience. It is only a few of us doing that for sure as more of us here are more preferable in short-term holding knowing the fact of its volatility. In fact, I consider myself as one of those short-term holders, I have patience but I'd rather enjoy the moment when Bitcoin price jump high and then sell off my BTC. Yes, and I'm still holding a large amount of the coins I accumulated around 2016 and early 2017, which makes my average price of entry much lower than the price we're currently at. I also trade a certain percentage of my holdings regularly, though I typically risk a very small amount of that money per trade. The majority of people are also not profitable at all whilst trading. That's statistically the reality of trading, and that makes holding an extremely easy and still profitable thing to do if you can afford it. Having a bitcoin nowadays is the great way and definitely a nice way to invest due to the fact that bitcoin is not as huge price as before. If we can imagine bitcoin will be increase as much as $15,000 to $18,000 you can earn as much as 2 times as the recent price. Also, we can't assure everything that the most challenging part is our patience on how long it will take and the worst case is when the time you really need that amount in the most unexpected situation.

If it's a long term holding, It's good to hold your bitcoin. But that is why holding is not always the best option, sometimes you need to take the chances to take the profit. I think you need to know when to hold and when to sell. The pump only last for a few days. It could turn the table at any moment. For a long term holder, all they have is hoping that for the next few years the price goes skyrocket. Still, you never know, pumps and dumps could happen the second you looked away. You could also cut losses, and then buy back them at a lower price so it'd minimize your losses. But the people that bought bitcoin before 2017, definitely got quite the ROI even if they missed the the highest price.

Bitcoin always dominates in all of our investments and investors hold between 70% and 90% so I believe Bitcoin will always be the most concerned coin during this time. There are currently no reliable predictions during this time but the likelihood of reaching $12,000 in the next few months will be very high. Of course it depends a lot on this market and hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Holding at short terms is suggested when you have enough capital with huge quantities. There's always a good chance to have more profit when the price will bounce at increasing value, so we can sell our coins to earn returns. Holding btc for a long period of time, could gain much higher profit at 100% compared with short term.

If you already have tether, you can buy more bitcoin if the price still going down because that will be the best time for you to buy bitcoin. I used to do a lot of trading but i have become a HODLer for a couple of reasons:

1) The new tax laws in America make it very complicated to keep track of every trade. Plus many exchanges no longer allow American customers on their main exchanges.

In fact, I have learned about TA and I know when to take profits and when to buy. all are displayed on the chart and after a period of constant speculation, hold and trading, I suddenly realized that speculation yielded the highest winning rate. because crypto businesses don't want to share dividends and holding will not bring much benefit. If I am not holding Bitcoin then I wouldn't be holding any other coin. Bitcoin is the number of coins in the market, it is the real cryptocurrency and others are just what they are - alternatives. I do invest in altcoins, but a few, and I choose them carefully from the top ten or twenty list.

Shouldn't we all be optimistic? We all know that the big resistance level for Bitcoin is 10 thousand  and then it's almost no resistance up until 20.
Being at 10 is not a big deal. 50 is nothing more than 5 times that.

If we look at previous rallies it was normal for Bitcoin to go up by 500%. In 2013 it went from 200 to 1100 in 20 days. Then from 4000 to 20 thousand in 3 months.

In my honest opinion, there is no gambling in this act. Anyone who is investing in bitcoin at the movement will enjoy a secure and rich future. You are right as someone who claimed that he visited future also told publicly that BTC will be a huge thing by 2025. I am not someone who suggest others to buy BTC because it will be huge in future because if I do that, people rely on me if price goes down they will blame me. This is how I explain people, since the existence of BTC the average price of BTC has only gone up. The average price I explain as the every day price divided by 30.

Well I guess you also have to consider that holding majority of your asset to bitcoin can give decent while waiting for those Alts to pump hard. I don't really believe in your submission that the " lower Bitcoin goes, the harer it is for it to recover" for reason being that not just because the market value if Bitcoin is going down doesn't really mean it will be hard for it's recovery if you take close look at the trend of Bitcoin. The factors that will return Bitcoin market value in an upward direction will soon start it's effect.

It has never been a bad idea to keep small percentage of altcoins in your wallet but as you said, one simply needs to be careful about the type of altcoin you are keeping. This is great that you kept them for a year and sold them off with a profit. I personally believe going with famous altcoins or the ones that have good history of generating profits. Until now I still HODL the Bitcoin that I bought in January 2018.. There is no guarantee to gain by just holding bitcoin. I hold bitcoins before and I experienced to have negative portfolio and it is the reason why I sold it. I also known many people that got stuck to their position because they bought when the price is still expensive and they are still not selling their bitcoins due to their big losses. Some of your words deserve attention, a true crypto adopter will have some coins for holding, for trading, and from time to time will spend some coins on something, it's how economy is growing bigger. It all depends on the situation that uses it because bitcoin is not the best way to get big profits in a short amount of time and if you only rely on income from bitcoin without having another income or a real job that can generate income without relying on bitcoin, and it seems difficult to get profit from bitcoin in a short amount of time.

I feel jelous because you're able to preserve your bitcoin before the halving comes while me I already spent most of it . I don't have any choice but to do so. We are in the same shoes, I already sell some of my bitcoin recently for emergency purposes and even I dont want to do it I have no choice, but since the price is acceptable to sell because of the price increase somehow I feel fine about it.

That's right, when you prefer a new coin to invest for reasons of lower purchase value, then the next concern is how much profit has been gained from investing in the new coin, because usually they will only lose and regret at the end due to lack of research which is good and because of the greed factor that is very likely you not to do further research. There are still many old coins that have low prices and I think it will be better, because if you keep comparing prices and choose lower prices for investments, then you only make mistakes later. I agree with you. Any investment needs to be considered carefully and there are a lot of good old coins for you. It's your choice of investment that matters, how you understand the market and how you choose your assets to place your money will be depend with how you interpret the situation. Bitcoin investment is mostly use by more investors around though for some traders they will choose alts as venue of investment to accumulate additional bitcoin by dealing with day trading. Though whatever strategy you have in mind as long as you understand how to

While reading this i also felt the same way because not knowing about bitcoin from a long time ago will really make you feel regret that i should search about it.
