Ok you are gambling just for fun, your friends and neighbors knows that and a friend invited you to his party to be one of the candidates as a councilor and campaign will start in 6 months, now, of course, you need to have a good reputation, will you stop gambling just to have a good image this coming campaign and how will you defend yourself if accused as a gambler. 

No , I will not, it is not good to change the way you live just to please others or just to make your image good for other people to reach their expectations as well. You don't need to explain yourself you are a gambler, but you are responsible in every actions that you will be doing. I think it is more than enough for them to trust you, and also you are a good tax payer as a gambler, and as long as you are not addicted and not fall in any bad crimes, I think it is good.

Everything have it's own limitations, if you are sure that you are in control of this kind of activities then you are good to go and there's no need for you to change up, reputations only be bothered if you are irresponsible and you can't control things out. There's a big need for you to change up and choose between if you are are too much engaged and your willingness to secure your identity to be more positive.

Many people really have a bad attitude towards gambling and those who play it! So if you want to achieve success in society, you better not tell anyone that you are gambling!

Although many people assume that gambling is just for fun and may not be known to people, if in this case gambling is considered a bad habit, then someone will leave it if one day has the potential to disrupt his reputation.

Why does being a gambler would matter? For me, that's fine, as long as you are not addicted to it. I bet there are government officials that are so gambling, so it won't matter. But if the campaign would start, it's advisable not to gamble for a while, and focus on the upcoming campaign. There's nothing bad about gambling, as long as you can control and limit yourself.

You're not getting the point. Being a politician (for example) is a serious position in a country, because you are the one who will lead and propose laws that will help your citizen, now, if you're playing gambling, that would make a lot of issues, a misunderstanding, and so on. Even if you're not addicted, or even if you say you're not using your people's money in your habit, they wouldn't believe you, because in their minds, they are thinking that at some point, you're going to steal people's money and spend it on gambling.

Well you couldn't blame them for thinking like that, because you as a politician should be a good role model, that instead of playing gambling, why not focus on helping your people and be a good public servant.

For countries if it is legal then I think not major problem would exists because one can play for fun. But yes if one is addicted and people know about it then it cans seriously affect the image and people might want to quit under such circumstances. Another thing if it is illegal in countries and still gambling then again, there is too much issue other than image also la could be impose on such people.

It is true that no one wants to trust a gambler, if you are addicted to gambling, no one will vote for you if you will want to be a candidate as a counselor. Although I am not addicted on gambling but I do not think I can completely quit gambling to participate on councilor election, Maybe I'll reduce on going to casino, Otherwise I will go into hiding.

If you are gambler it doesn't mesn that you are bad person as long as you did not harm the others don't stop playing as long as you not aaddict player. If you are candidates just be proud to yourself because you are nominating to this kind of activities at your place .

In theory, sounds perfect considering the forum board participants but the reality slaps hard. Talking about your last won is not acceptable by the conservative family members and friends, they will do everything for bringing back you to real life. What I have said is proven in real-life stories. Real-life slaps harder than the failed theories, this is my own conclusion after the 7-year gambling experience in online gambling websites.

Why would I intend to stop playing gambling if I know to myself that I am not doing anything wrong? As long as I play with proper moderation and treat playing gambling as just for fun or entertainment, then I have nothing to worry about my reputation because being a gambler does not directly intent that you are already a bad person. It is on the way how people perceive and understand how playing looks like. The problem with the people is the mindset and generalization that thinking playing gambling is a wrong doing. Well, sort of it can be a wrong one, but not at all cases because different people do also have different ways on how they manage playing gambling. As long as I know I am not making anything wrong on playing gambling, I will not stop playing because playing it does not mean my reputation will already be at stake. It is just a matter of how you will be able to present yourself on other people that even if you do play gambling, still you can manage to control yourself for you to be able not to get addicted on it and serve only just for fun. Also, if I will be going to be a candidate, probably I will not tell that I do play gamble since the society is really having a wrong mindset about gamblers so I better just keep it for I do just play for it as for fun.

The important here is we should know when we need to make good things to other people. No matter if they judge as a gambler, a drunker, or else, as long as we don't harm the others, that is enough for us. We don't take it as a severe thing about that because reputation can be searched, but the good things are tough to make and get it. We need to stay at our line and never make something bad to other people because that will cause our life will be bad too in the future.

Trading is different in gambling, and the gambling term in the literal gambling from Trading is different. Playing gambling's risk is bigger and irresponsible because winning your profits in gambling is much lower than in Trading. The come back of your money in Trading is always there, once you lost your profits because of bearish market, eventually, if you're patient enough, it'll come back to you, unlike in gambling, once you lost your money, it ain't gonna come back unless you're lucky enough to win again.

Trading is different in gambling, and the gambling term in the literal gambling from Trading is different. Somehow I just think that they have similar risk since actually even by now we cannot tell if we win on our trades or win on our bets since both is unpredictable and the same we are risking our money to earn but one thing good about trading is we can recover our losses when the markets recover faster after the dump compare on gambling if we lose the money will dried up for that day and hard to recover on our next bet.

But somehow we cannot compare this since they are different category, but although I tried to lose between both of this I still gamble and do trading since it gives more challenge on my side.

At first, it depends on the type of gamble.
Secondly, that's if the Constitution binding the position is against gambling.
Thirdly, have we accepted that gambling is not of good reputation.
Now, type of gamble in The sense that, politician play certain games and bet by themselves or bet on clubs in support and it does not look so bad..
To the second,some contries doesn't do not care about whether the governor gamble or not..
And to the third, if it is bad, it is bad then. It Should be totally discouraged.
