How about ETH? it's next to BTC in ranking so I like to presume its the strongest altcoin in the market.
you have 1 btc and if ETH will pump, you might grow your money to x5 or even x10 because if it pump that high, ETH would still not surpass its ATH, so it's possible.

ETH would be about the only coin I would consider seriously investing that much money into. Other than Ethereum, I would just hold Bitcoin. The only reason I would even consider it is because of the apparent bull market coming in to play and the new Ethereum updates. I think with the new updates coming to ETH, you have a good chance at making more money from holding ETH than just holding the Bitcoin outright. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to take a chance on it.

If I have 1btc, that's the coin I need to hold. There's no other coin which has the potential to increase in value in the long term like bitcoin. The value of Bitcoin is greatly undervalued which means that there's still opportunity for a massive increase in the value of Bitcoin.

Holding bitcoin alone is enough investment to make sure that you will gain profit in the future.

We know the growth of btc for the past year and now halving is few months away, it can trigger the price to surge.

Nevertheless there are some alts that has potential and cheap to buy if you want to invest but at this time I think its wise to stick to btc.

If I had one, I would still hold bitcoin or buy 50% of BNB. I hold bitcoin because I know its buying needs will be huge from now on. when the public debt of the United States, China and Japan is growing. default will cause inflation to soar and then bitcoin and gold will be the strongest asset classes. That is the advantage of holding BTC in the long term. As for BNB, I know that Binance is doing very well, they are increasingly burning coins. That shows that they are quite rich and in the future the price of BNB will soon increase sharply.

It seems other people will also go with this plan where they hold their bitcoin than use it to buy other cryptocurrencies. But, we can still earn a profit if we going to use the 1 bitcoin to buy other altcoins. The good idea with this is what if try to use half of 1 bitcoin to buy other altcoins like you will buy Ethereum or Binance coin which is also like bitcoin that now has many supporters and has a good volume in the market. Aside from that, both of them also are in the top-performing altcoins so there is no doubt if you going to use half of 1 bitcoin in other altcoins. I agree with you that it's more comfortable to hold our bitcoin but never waste the opportunity that you have in buying altcoins. Then always remember this "Do not put all your egg in one basket" and besides on bitcoin, there are also other coins that suited for long term investments such as Binance, Ethereum, Litecoin and many more. Lastly, before you use the 1 bitcoin to other altcoins make sure you already have a background to that coin so you can assure you can gain profit.

I think the reason to not invest in ETH is about altseason hasnt happened. altcoin has low dominance at this time
so, altcoin would be harder to get pump, wheter Bitcoin is easily to do.

I personally would probably feel better if it wasn't a proof of work coin because to be perfectly honest at this rate miners are the biggest reason there is a sell pressure on many coins, being able to rely on miners for faster transactions and cheaper as well is a great feature to have and that is why PoW is still outweight PoS in market cap values however over time when technology catches up enough that even PoS coins will be fast and cheap, we will realize that not having people selling by thousands every single day and costing buyers millions of dollars just to stay at the same level really would make a coin go up.

Bitcoin is a viable and too safe option for all investors, I never tried to deny the potential of bitcoin but like other altcoins, we still need to wait, even this time can be extended when that one year the whale falls asleep and do not want to stimulate excitement in the market, and as the rule of many experienced investors, an egg basket cannot optimize our opportunities and capital. We should have at least a few divisions of capital into altcoin, altcoin is not so bad as many people think, it can still bring big profits in a short time.

Well, if I have bitcoin, I won't sell it either. honestly, if I were you, I would hold it until after halving. however, if there are people who want to sell bitcoin only for altcoin, I might choose BCH, ETH, BNB with a percentage of 50%, 25%, and 25%. I really think that is the reason most altcoins are still alive today, in the past many thought that an altcoin could take the place of bitcoin and replace it, but now I doubt anyone thinks like that anymore, they only invest in those altcoins because they are expecting that the coin goes up in value against bitcoin and then they sell and get more fiat or bitcoin in return, and since this has been an effective tactic for years then most people keep doing this in the hopes of getting more bitcoin.

As for me, I will only hold btc and eth for long term hodl. Maybe 70/30 ratio in favour of btc. Since I am lazy to check other alts that maybe promising in the market, I would select these 2, as I know that they will always be here in the crypto market. I will choose the top altcoin like ETH, BCH and litecoin that will be guaranted for at least to save your money to get a lot of lose. These coins will always give you comfortable when you hold them, it doesn't like when you choose the bottom altcoin position you will not have the comfortable to hold them for long term investment. You will face a lot of risk like the coin is being shitcoin and even didn't have value anymore, these thing have been happened so far. Many investor there who have got lost because of it and they were regreted. Because the chance to see by the investor is really norrow, they will be prefer to choose the top altcoin first for their investment place.
