Simple, Solid & Stable
64-bit Lubuntu based Linux for Nvidia 1000 series cards (370.28 driver)

Most Important Statement:
If you are not familiar with linux - still there is no problem at all, because Midnight Commander
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Commander ) is installed for you.
Become root via "sudo su - ", then type: mc <Enter>
And edit configuration files in /etc/kopiemtu via F4. And reboot! ('two-minutes" setup, real Plug&Play Wink )

New v3.0 !!! (Long Term Support) ! (7-Zip archive 3.5 GB):

http://mbl.cash/kopiemtu-3.0.zip

MD5sum kopiemtu-3.0.img: 0ce492dbb6342fea06e2831bfe41f895

New in v3.0: Cuda 8.0 + 370.28 driver with O/C
"Added the ability to over- and under-clock certain GeForce GPUs in the GeForce GTX 1000 series and later"
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/107408/en-us

and:
- compact size (should fit on all 16GB pendrives)
- Lubuntu 16.04.1 based
- temperature and fan ranges on Master rig
- many small improvements

Pendrive creation (16GB is necessary) - you can use for example:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
(or 'dd' command in Linux for using all your USB ports simultaneously)

If you have DHCP server in your network and headless PC - use any ssh client to connect (check your router logs for new assigned IP):
login: root
password: live

From GUI - just open LXTerminal and type:
sudo su -

Quick Guide:

Configuration files: /etc/kopiemtu/
Set your pools, workers, passwords properly here - and whole hashrate mines for you only and forever.
(do not edit miner.conf - edit other files and use 'mine switch' )

mine switch|start|stop|status
monitor start|stop|status

(read: /root/README.txt)

Master rig only commands:

mmit - master mine start
mmip - master mine stop
mmis - master mine status
mmih - master mine switch

mmot - master monitor start
mmop - master monitor stop
mmos - master monitor status

To convert normal rig into master rig, edit /root/.master.conf, and:
mv /root/.master.conf /root/master.conf

Then reboot and read: /root/README.txt Smiley

If anyone reads this I recommend Unetbootin as opposed to using Win32Writer - http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net

I guess it's just personal preference but I have never had any issues with Unetbootin and it works across Linux/Mac/Windows.

I use it on Debian Wheezy x64.

I don't suppose anybody wants to help a newbie at all do they?

I'm trying to install this to a 16GB USB Drive, and I know that the file itself is 7.22GB. However, is there any way of installing Kopiemtu onto the USB and having the other 7GB remaining as general storage, so I can still use half of the drive, as a normal pendrive?

When you write the image, it write all the sectors in image file to the device.
So I pretty sure that if you write the 7GB image on the 16GB device, you will still have only 7GB available when Kopiemtu is running because the GB remaining are not used.

Thanks for the new release! I´m will trying it soon.

Are you considering working with the PiMP developers? They are working though a CUDA PiMP.

Hi,

I have a new KopiemTu version for new Pascal GPUs, let say v2.1:

Code:
root@kopiemtu:~# nvcc -V | grep tools
Cuda compilation tools, release 8.0, V8.0.26
root@kopiemtu:~# dmesg | grep NVRM
[   13.892384] NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module  367.27  Thu Jun  9 18:53:27 PDT 2016
root@kopiemtu:~#

It is still simple, solid and stable, but quite "dirty"... (some time-saving "shortcuts", no recommended upgrades, etc)
I should polish it yet, but it's quite time consuming process, especially if I would decide to upgrade it thoroughly
- and now I'm quite busy (and should be next week yet) with my own Pascal GPU roll-out Smiley

The question is, if should I release it, actually - if you are able to pay some small amount for it
(just to increase my motivation to keep it clean and "ccminers updated" )
not such expensive like 39$ EthOS per rig, but let say 200 VTC, and per user
(that would be more less in cost of one more PCIe riser, not that much comparing to whole rig's price)

any feedback would be nice, then Smiley

Hi,

I have a new KopiemTu version for new Pascal GPUs, let say v2.1:

It seems we are going to 3.0 version, Lubuntu 16.04.1 based, for 16GB pendrive

I even bougth dedicated SSD drive for easy play with new version
In fact it's quite a good idea to have master rig with at least 16GB SATA SSD drive
and other rigs - pendrive only version, as cheaper and less cabling

I know that might look impossible - but new KopiemTu is even easier to run than before Smiley
Several days yet...

hey jk_14,
I was active a long time ago on your litcointalk thread (different username) - and like to leave some "thank you" in here!
You were one of the reasons I dived deep into linux and I really did not regret it. Today I use "regular" linux installations (on SSD) on my rigs, but would be more than curious to take a closer look into your new kopiemtu version.

I mined on your vtc & bbr adresses from time to time while using your kopiemtu,
but like to send you a little additional donation. please post your BTC (or BBR) address on this thread.

take care!
