We are going to produce another quality Bit-Pay video, but this time it will just talk about the utility of Bitcoins.

It will appeal to the Max Keiser-type anarchists that want an alternative to the corrupt banks.

http://www.piratemyfilm.com/projects/304

You can contribute to this project by pledging as little as $5.

Once the project is fully pledged it will be "greenlit" by PMF, and we will collect the donations at that time.  You will be able to pay for your pledge using Bitcoins.

EDIT:

Here is the latest script if you would like to see:

I put in $5.

Thanks!  We need a strong video to appeal to the "End the Fed" and silver liberation army and GIABO crowds.

The key point is that buying, selling, or trading bitcoins does not affect the banks at all.  It's when you USE bitcoins for payment, money transfers, etc instead of a credit card or bank wire - that is key.

When i meet Max Keiser next week I will ask him to narrate this.  If he says no, then yeah I will use Alison.  Or maybe Alison and Max together!

This is the first I've heard of this project. It's not much notice. I donated to the Max Keiser film project, but maybe I can help in other ways. Not that your asking, but here are some discussions that might give some ideas:

What's the money for?

You got a camera? So go out and film it!

You don't need money for this.

Actually i don't have the camera.

Renting a Panasonic P2 camera is $500/day. (the one from the mobile checkout video)
Camera Operator $200
Graphics and Animation $500-$1000
VoiceOver $100. Or on-screen talent $300.
Editing $500
Soundstage rental $300

So the $800 we are asking for will only cover about 30% of the cost of producing a professional video.

Video quality is not nearly as important as audio. Use a shotgun mic if possible and for lectures a locked down consumer camera is fine. A backup camcorder is great for cutaways. Use basic editing software and simple bullet slides. If you can get copies of the powerpoint frames from the lecturers, then even better. A well edited and produced video is much better than a poorly made video shot on expensive gear.

We have crossed the 50% point of fundraising for this project!

Here is the latest script if you would like to see:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ltrpj5uL-b2urfGW3SAGBkZ3qvZTKHroVzdVZnwo-Ok/edit

You will be able to pay for your $5 pledge with BITCOINS after this gets greenlit.

If you would like to see this project happen, you can pledge $5 on PMF.  You don't have to pay anything until it gets 100% pledged.

If you have any suggestions on the script, let me know.  It needs to stay 60 seconds or less.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I read the script and although I thought the idea is good it didn't really inspire me. It seemed way too typical of a commercial to me..

Have you thought about incorporating the advice of these two TED talks into your idea?:

I have an idea of my own, let me know if you'd like to hear about it..

they are rapidly implementing the bitcoin payment option on PMF.  As soon as that is done, people will pay for the shares they have pledged.

We will start production this weekend.  finished product will take about 1 month.

Thanks guys!

Missed this or I would have contributed, but I certainly want to see the finished product!
