Google banned ETH wallet and metamask android client on Playstore

First Youtube removes all crypto related videos and now Google removes Metamask.
It won't be too late until google starts removing crypto related things from all of it's products.
Looks like google has an eye on crypto.

We know Google is the biggest platform in the world, and of course with the removal of crypto content on their various platforms will certainly have a bad impact on the development of crypto going forward, and if we think about it, it looks like Google has come under pressure from a related party about banning crypto in various their platform, but we don't know who is pressing Google, surely there are certain reasons behind the ban?

It is quite strange to remove Metamask Wallet from Android Store as it is just a way to get the access to your Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet. I think it is just a mistake and it will be available again soon.

Google is showing signs of authoritarian decisions of late. Youtube was involved in removing crypto-related videos and now Google Playstore is doing its part in blocking another crypto-related app. This is going to be bad for crypto but worse for them. They seem to show that they do not like cryptocurrency at all. Google is replaceable; they need to realize that. They will certainly be replaced soon.

Google's decision must be questioned because many people who use the application and also crypto users mostly use Google access like me. if this continues then access to use crypto will be increasingly difficult, this policy is actually disturbing and needs to be asked for clearer reasons

I don't think it's worth enough to trust their decisions, because this could be some bad moves for other group who spreads FUD. Hopefully there's something that could support the idea before it's too late, most users like me was very much affected. This fears my asset being enlisted with google browser add on, it might be not safe nowadays.

Google has been a leading business for so many years. It started as just an alternative but then it successfully made it to the top. There must be something that caused Google to become very successful like they are now. For that reason, they could somehow be trusted. However, there are policies that tend to be biased against new technologies such as the ones they stated as the reasons for blocking MetaMask. I cannot see any valid reason for doing so. They need to be open for rising technologies as they themselves was once a rising star also.

Right there is no official reason why Google is blocking Metamask, I think there must be a fundamental reason for that, and maybe also a misunderstanding that can be resolved by deliberation. basically of course google will be open to technological developments

Perhaps this is also a mistake like youtube, I believe that metamask is safe enough for anyone to use and there is no reason why google can block it. Hopefully in the next few days they will fix this mistake just like youtube did, also in my mind I was thinking that someone is trying to sabotage and stop the development of cryptocurrencies, but I believe that block will never succeed.

I think this is not like the case of Youtube. The case of Youtube was admittedly an erroneous decision on their part. They were man enough to admit it and reinstalled the videos back. The case of MetaMask is different. They decided to block Metamask for reasons that were not true. Mobile mining was the mentioned reason which Metamask was not involved. But despite this, Google rejected the appeal of Metamask. This thing is getting curious.

I think the possibility of metamask has a report about something bad so many report metamask to Google and make Google banned metamask, while I see other wallets can still be used on the Google platform.

I think Metamask really violated google's Financial terms, that's why Google rejected metamask's appeal about it! It means Metamask broke a big rule and they have to go under punishment! Stop blaming Google, guys! they are helping enough to the crypto world! If you look carefully, Google did not ban the Metamask chrome extension, they just banned the app from the playstore! So, it's clear that the fault is in Metamask, not Google's!

This is quite related to the purging of crypto-related videos in Youtube.
I think it will be back shortly, unless they had seen such malicious software especially those softwares mining crypto in background of phone but from what they had stated "financial services", it seems an unlikely of a reason.

I hope that's the case we need the metamask on play store for a new users of Ethereum, but why now, it's doing great and proven to be nonmalicious, what is Google trying to prove, I think they want disruptions, in Cryptocurrency, they want to sow fear and FUDS  among us and this is not good for us.

Well according to the article it appears meta mask has violate the Google financial service policies, you don't expect those who violate policies to go unpunished, you make it sound like they where ban without a reason, i guess people should do things according to what is specified, and for the good of the many users of this app, i hope both parties can come to a resolution, after what is already happening with Youtube it won't be good to have Google do same.

I agree that metamask simply violated the policy because it is a business and everyone wants to sell their products profitably. The question is, what kind of rules did the metamask break? There is no reason to ban just like that or there is another benefit for Google.

I am not sure but I think that it will the same scenario with Youtube. Now that they didn't fully understand about Cryptocurrency, just give them the benefit of the doubt. Eventually, they will accept and understand Crypto in the near future.

Price manipulation by blocking a few videos and metamask? Highly unlikely. This is a far-out idea. This is not to create FUD either as the incident was only involving a few videos and a single app. And Google does not have a coin or token to promote so there is no connection at all. They are not supporting any coin or token also.

Google might also want to maintain the security and comfort of all their users, at least we must respect and not consider this as a reference to accompany opinions that Google seems to forbid anything about crypto, hopefully this case can be resolved well in the future, me too users of the Metamask wallet in the Chrome browser and that's not a problem at all, if indeed Google has a problem with crypto it should not only ban it in PlayStore but also forbid their plugins in the Chrome browser

Metamask has been in the Playstore for years, and not only on Playstore that they are bullying Cryptocurrency community but on Youtube as well, since metamask is very important for Ethereum holders, especially to those who transact in a centralized wallet, it will slow down the growth of decentralized exchange, and coins that rely on centralized exchanges that uses metamask.

I am friendly using myetherwallet than use Metamask application between on add on chrome browser or install with play store application, I think using myetherwallet faster by sending coin than using Metamask, not have big effect when google try to banned Metamask because still have many way for investor save their assets in exchange wallet.

If it is impossible to search for an alternative within Google playstore then we can leave that and search elsewhere. There are wallets that could be downloaded directly from their sites and not through Google playstore. It seems Google is trying to show some side or preference in terms of which to include or not in their stores, not on the basis of the demand but on their biases. This is not a good decision.

They just want to wash their hands on this kind of thing, If anything happens with this Apps or someone will get scam with some big amount of cash and the Apps has anything to do about it, Google play store will also be featured. because they got those apps from them. this is not just a random removal they think about getting rid of these apps in their play store with some consultations of their advisers.

Google has always been a very very "anti-crypto" company, as far as I remember even 3 years ago there was problems with putting up crypto related adwords, I just wanted to promote my website and did some marketing and the hardest company to work with was google for sure, thankfully I don't have my website anymore and sold it but it was so bad I literally warned the buyer of my website to be careful about google ads because if you do one thing wrong you will be gone and nobody really wants that.

It is difficult to survive in bitcoin world nowadays, youtubers getting their videos removed, developers getting their apps removed, adwords getting rejected, like all of a sudden google is on an open battle with the crypto world but nobody has any idea why.

This is possible. But I think they have always been screening apps admitted on Google Playstore. Not every app can enter there because it has to be checked for possible virus injections. Google has also a policy not to admit crypto mining apps. That is supposedly the reason why metamask is blocked.
