By now, is it worth to invest in major altcoins for the long term?

One advantage of high fund investors located in US or Europe with friends in cryptocurrency is the inside information. If I grow up as an investors to that level of funding, I will need the inside information and it will be very good for making decision on investment in cryptocurrency, majorly for altcoins. The inside information will determine a long term hold or short. Not all altcoin are meant to be held for long term though they might be a profitable investment.

To everyone who wants to buy altcoins now, I recommend to wait a bit because I believe that we will see a price correction soon. But if you want to do it right now, I would choose not only coins from the top 20 or top 50. There are a lot of good coins in the top 200 that may be in the top 50 in the coming year. But in order to find these coins, you need to study a lot of information. I won’t tell you names so you don’t blame me later if you suddenly will have losses

I don't think major altcoins losing its value, probably this is just because we are in bearish market that is why most of them are drowning and even the Bitcoin itself are facing this bearish trend. However, I have been observed this lately that these coins are gradually recovers and that it the prove that it won't lose their value. Talking with investment, always choose major altcoins, the fact that they will give an enough amount of rewards as the market goes well.

For a long time hodl, I would go for bitcoin blindly and top major coins. Here top means I believe the top 20 coins according to the CMC rankings! In the past for example in 2017 eth was at the peak of its price so investing for the long term then was a bad idea but now that the price is at 160$ and its far from eth potential i think is a good time for long term investment and there are lot of altcoins like that.

The major altcoin has already increased, although not much, so if you want to invest for the long term, you better hurry up before your chance is gone. Maybe you are a bit too late because if you invested a few months ago, you would get the lowest price for every coin, especially to invest in bitcoin. But that will depend on your strategy, and if you want to invest right now, you should do it directly and don't panic because the market will always change up and down. Right now, you still have time to invest in the major altcoins, but you need to be careful because there is no guarantee to see the price will be up for more, and the price will be down for a moment before the price back to increase.

Long term investment can only be done with those coins for which the development activity is ongoing without any major issue. Very few of the altcoins will qualify if we consider this criteria. Take the example of Ethereum. During the past few months, the development timelines have been postponed multiple times and the roll-out of ETH 2.0 has been delayed quite a bit.

If I were you, I am going to invest now in bitcoin while the price of it is low since we all know that halving is about to happen. For sure, sooner or later the price of it will rise up even more. If you really want to invest on altcoin, you better do some research about it first and try to compare its long term effect in the bitcoin. Since I know that bitcoin is still better than altcoins in terms of long term effect into it. So, my suggestion is you should go to bitcoin while its price is not that high.

indeed who said if investing in top altcoin is not recommended anymore? for me it is wrong. if there really isn't any other choice about altcoin investing, then I personally would prefer altcoin in the top 10 in the market, because I believe some of them have great potential and are worthy of investment in the long run.

No. Just day trade them if you can. Invest time in learning day trading whenever you can. I've held quite few altcoins before but they were all just dumped. I held that coin since 2017 and it just went crap by 80% after a year, so I just decided to "erase" the coin.

For me, despite of the down fall in the part of Altcoins, I still find it worthy to invest into the major Altcoins because they are the ones that are capable to have the potential of growing in terms of price and also worthy to be hold for long term investment. As the year 2020 enters our calendars, the price behavior was observed to be doing so well not just for the part of Bitcoin but also for the Altcoins as well specially for the top ranked Altcoins. This just proves that despite of having serious down falls, still Altcoins can be able to regain from its loss and be worthy for investment. So for me, investing into major Altcoins are still worthy for long term nowadays.

I not interested with investing in long term because not worth and look not interested have waiting long time to get much profit with some altcoin, I think best opinion when trading with short time because every day is earning and profit day because we use short time for trading without waiting more than one or two month receive profit from trading.

Of course they are gaining value, look at ethereum, litecoin, eos, bnb, monero and what they have started years ago. Check their prices at the first day of every year and you will see that except that 2017 peak times for all (which bitcoin was damaged too) they have always gone up, they are basically amazing.

Definitely they may not gain too much value in bitcoin terms and that is sad, however bitcoin does go up greatly so its fine for altcoins to lose value in bitcoin pairing, looking at usd values they always have a good trajectory in the long term. Never give up on your hopes for the major altcoins, there are some horrible coins and they lose value and go down but the likes of the big coins I listed have a great future ahead of them and can be supported or even bought for your portfolio.

the market has changed so far, i can still recommend to invest to some altcoins. maybe just the major ones not the ones you haven't heard of before or had been existing for a long time yet the price didn't even go up.  the teams today are fooling investors by making its coin appear like ti has a value but in reality their volume it has in a day is just worth $10 for a very looong time. you'd best just pick the ones on the first page of CMC.

I think that you must have the main altcoins in your portfolio, but you should not rely on them as the best source of money income. the main altcoins will necessarily grow in price in a bull market, but I think that they will not bring big profits and that's why you should have other coins in your portfolio.

I think that most people on this forum are not only waiting for an increase in their investment in basic coins.  But they also periodically buy tokens, also at the moment.  And not only from the top ten, but also new, promising tokens of various projects.  In any case, the most important thing in investments is a detailed study and analysis of projects.
