Biggest surprises of the year

On the Vikings, very much agreed. They are the biggest of all surprises of the year. However, this might not only be because I thought Sam Darnold is an improved quarterback. These other players who are protecting him and who give him time to throw his pass are much more important. I reckon if Tua played in this team he will certainly not be having a concussion and he would certainly be throwing long passes that will be successful to his receivers every game hehehe.

In any case, why is the Vikings only -2.5 against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets? This should be -6?

They’ve been a solid defense pick for me pretty much this entire season. I use to change up the defense every chance I got to favor the best odds each week but I’ve found that just sticking to a solid defense has been more favorable.

It appears there will be 2 very important divisional games for week 14. This is the Packers vs. the Lions and my favorite team for 2024, this is the Chargers vs. the Chiefs! The oddsmakers are not taking very much risks on them because they are only +3.5 for the underdogs, the Chargers and the Packers.

However, I reckon that this might be an underestimation for the Chiefs if the oddsmakers are giving them on -3.5 against the spread. I speculate that this should be on -7.

SMH, well once again I lose a key player for the rest of the season.  I've only been playing with you guys for a short amount of time, so when I tell you that I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to having players that stay healthy, I mean it lol.

So I draft CMC number one overall, he ends up giving me what, 4 lackluster weeks. smh.  Godwin, CMC, Rice..tough trio of players to lose.  Just hoping I can still hang in there.

This is what all the teams on contention need to get that final spot, assuming the tiebreakers remain the same:

Bit Bowlers: Win both games, Eli-2 Brady-0 wins one or zero games, the Moon Coiners lose both games.
CeeDee’s: Win both games, Eli-2 Brady-0 wins one or zero games, the Moon Coiners lose both games.
Eli-2 Brady-0: Win both games and the Moon Coiners wins one or zero games, or win one game and the Moon Coiners lose both games.
Moon Coiners: Win both games or win one game and  Eli-2 Brady-0 wins one or zero games.

I think there is a path for me to lose both games and remain in 4th place.

OTOH, it looks like Burrowhead and Brewers are still in it, if they win both games and the other teams lose all games except two (CeeDee win against Bowlers, and Bowlers win against me, which I think is the only way this can work due to scheduling). There would be 6 teams at 6-9.

But Brewers would need nearly 300 extra points on top of everything else.

Then there is the strength of schedule... I know I need the least amount of winning/scoring, but my remaining schedule sucks. Burrowhead has the easiest schedule IMO. CeeDee has the toughest.

Believe me, you are seriously overestimating my team, during the previous four weeks I have won three out of those games by the smallest margin of difference, the remaining game was won with Barkley scoring 50+ points and even then I won by a very small difference too.

Right now in my opinion the Nabers are the team to beat, since they have 7 games with 140+ points, with 4 of those games being on the last 4 weeks, while the Cows only have 5, with only one of those games being on the last 4 weeks, it is because of this I think you are the one with the hardest schedule and it is also the reason I am still looking for an additional win, since I do not want to face the Nabers on the first round of the playoffs.

I've always been a fan of his and have him on another team but when he scored against me right off the bat I was like o shit I don't know whether to root for him to have a big night or not!

I will bet your prediction on under 42.5 heheh. Also because the total score for this game might be low, I reckon +3.5 against the spread offered for the Chargers might have a higher chance than predicted by the oddsmakers hehehe.

Jim Harbaugh might have created a new tactic for his strategy book after they have lost in their first game against the Chiefs on week 4.

Made the playoffs in all three leagues i'm in for the second year in a row, with largely different teams at that.

I thought i'd appreciate a setup with byes for the top two seeds and an additional two playoff spots. I'm not sure i like it anymore...it feels off. The four-team playoff format (which we now have) seems optimal. Reminder to self: do not propose any future changes to the playoff system.




Anyway, best of luck to the teams competing for the final spot, it'll be fun to watch from the sidelines knowing you are already in.

Two weeks being sick af so been bit MIA from the forum for the most part due to that.  Hope you boys (-1) have been enjoying the football season.  Once again injuries decimated every team I have.  Never fails. Been maybe my best year ever though up until the playoffs,anyhow,  In my ESPN league i'm in 1st at 12-2 Yahoo leagues, course in 2nd place in our league here (who's Howdy Nabers in here? they have the best team, no question. My other yahoo 1st place(work league, not gunna front and brag w/this one lol), Sleeper leagues..1st ,4th (3 way tie for 2nd place best record), forgetting another league and dynasty I don't know or care, my team will require about a 10 year rebuild in that one lol. Anyways I've killed this year, and sure good bit is knowing my stuff, but lot of luck.  I doubt I win a single ship and as you all know if you aint first, you're last

BTW is it not ridiculous the NFL has 6 teams on bye this week.  When they add another week , my guess is 3-4 years tops, hopefully they will keep fantasy in mind a bit more (not that they don't, they realize how important FF is, but not sure if bye weeks matter a ton to them lol

Been fun guys, can't believe it's week 14 already.  Depression is already setting in and theres still weeks left.  


edit..whos the best team in the league ?  Curious what you all think (for me, bears, no contest, but thats me.  Firing head coaches and OCs mid season is a sign of success, after all)

I doubt it would work out that way. Week 13 had no byes at all, if I'm not mistaken. Probably because of all that sweet sweet cash NFL can get from all of those Thanksgiving week games. If they add another game they will need more money, because that's the only reason to add another game. So unless FF starts making money for NFL, it's not gonna matter. Probably a good thing too, there is enough gambling issues already, don't want to start getting players suspended because of fantasy football LOL.
